Evo Fusion the greatest gimmick in all of Transformers toylines

I still enjoyed Mechalive (the moving parts that looked cool were always cool)

Okay the idea Tarn and Jhiaxus both think they're in charge is too great.

The Evo-Fusion bit was such a "we're so back" moment.
Tarn and Jhiaxus were the perfect choices to start Legacy Evolution.

Your headcanon is now my personal favourite source of TF amusement. Their faces say so much more than you know.
He is great. The slimness always felt odd; if any figure was to have a chunky backpack, it would of worked on this. I only saw him in the wild once, and made sure I scooped him up!
Now if we could get the rest of DJD. My Transformers shelf has a distinct lack of electric chairs.

In my AU, both Tarn and Jhiaxus are major big bads of the post-war arc. They partner with Shockwave to create the New Decepticon Order, employing the Stunticons and some bounty hunters to fight against botht the Autobots and the former Decepticons.
What I wouldn't give for the entire DJD to be in this line.
I too, forget about the weird shoulder joints when I notice the bicep swivels.
But that's because the bicep swivels on my copy are loose (especially on the cannon arm, unfortunately) and they annoy me even more than the shoulders do. Never got around to tightening them for whatever reason
This Tarn/Bludgeon mold is one of the few times I accept the fake tank-treads thing...
(The ones on Armada Optimus drive me insane because, unlike this figure, they would have been completely unaffected by all the transforming XD)
Anyway, I don't have Tarn, but he cool and cracking review as always! ^^
oh that EVO cannon gimmick (the long one) actually would look good on Bludgeon's alt mode IMO!

Ooooh, a non-yellowed Jhiaxus, you show off.
But man, seeing them side by side reminds both how much I love them AND how frustrated I am at their shoulders, they'd both be 100% perfect if they had less awkward shoulders.
if it's any consolation I've also been told my Jhiaxus has the greened crotch thing going on, so it could just be tricks of the light

@@Vangelus I wonder how long it'll be until it becomes widespread enough for some third party to release their "clean undies" line of replacement parts.
I really like the idea of using the smaller cannons as twin pistols to put a “crooked sheriff” spin on him. “I run this town! I AM this town! So you better start callin’ me Tarn, son.”
You mentioned popping off the small guns, but not only that, they can be slid into his hands with the thicker bases being 5mm, making for small batons!

Wish there was actual wheels for vehicle mode. As is, Bludgeon wears this mold so well.
My problem isn't the vehicle mode, or even the fists. It's the lack of wheels. Even CW Devastator, with all of its compromises (still a great set IMO) managed to get rolling wheels into Scavenger and Bonecrusher's alt modes. He still poses and looks good though; I have the Bludgeon version of this mold.

Unpopular opinion: Bludgeon wears the mold better. He just looks way cooler and the sword adds tons of playability
what an excellent review, i'm glad to see someone dig into what makes him a good figure beyond the surface-level strengths he displays!
also, 100% agree with that headcanon, though I personally can't help but display him with Shokugan Modeling Project DRAIAS as a hunter and his pack beasts.

I love Tarn from Comic. He is a good Product. His features are satisfying.
Joke aside, I was sucked in with his cool modes, he's a great baddie to have on the shelf.

Black Mamba DJD-01 did a superb job in embiggening him. I never even saw a tarn, so had to go 3P. He got Leader-sized, lost the evofusion, but gained lights in his cannons.

@Vangelus does not ~seem~ to work. I have 0 desire to try and force it. The pegs exist, and the barrels are open...but it isn't a smooth insertion. I've learned bot to force it. Not without lube. I don't wanna lube Tarn's twin cannon.

i admit though that was expecting Vangelus to say that Legacy Tarn's transformation has some similarities on MMC Kultor's transformation.
I admit that while I still wait to have Legacy Tarn, Bludgeon is something I would also like.
the transformations being similar is moreso a coincidence of the source material imo, the original design isn't super clandestine about what goes where
Got him on Monday now that he's back in stock and was confused about why his right arm was loose, but I assume that's a common thing with his figure, overall he's really great and instantly became a favorite of mine
Really wish Tarn was bigger. I can understand not giving a high-profile character a coveted Leader-Class spot, but Tarn really needs to be bigger.
That said, Voyager Tarn works well as the "Ultimate Decepticon" Troops from cyberverse.
And WHY do so many Legacy toys have such long legs?!
i was kinda bummed out about the size too
but considering that IDW tarn is supposed to be slightly shorter than megatron (who is also a voyager) it unfortunately had to happen for the sake of scale
which is something that hasbro is putting a lot more effort into as of late
current best voyager in legacy 😊

And so, they were both bottoms.
I saw this guy at target last year and passed on him because I thought the character was a bit too edgy and over the top (but my only experience with the character is with ‘The Basics’ so I’m not too well versed). Since then I’ve seen reviews of this figure and the design has really grown on me, to the point where I regretted not getting it when I saw it. Thankfully I snagged the preorder for the new 4-pack coming out, even had a coupon for it.

But is it better than MMC Kultur? 🤔
Kultur is a bit more satisfying for my own tastes, but in a way I kind of expect from him for the price differential
@@Vangelus Not saying this to bash either toy, but as someone who owns MMC's Tarn, the transformation looks surprisingly similar. I'd even go as far as to say the only significantly different bit is in the unfolding of the shoulder treads.
@@vampyricon7026 oh yeah it came up elsewhere but Tarn's design doesn't really lend itself to a lot of transformation variation imo - I was thinking more in terms of broader subjective stuff like ~The Handfeel~ and etc
@@Vangelus Yeah, I guess to me it was just surprisingly familiar, including the dreaded cannon partsforming, zigzagging the elbows and tabbing them into the thighs, and all that.
