- It just kicks ass, 10/10 ped man, easily my favorite 50cc scooter, 2 stroke Zumas are my favorite “adventure scooter” but the elite takes the cake for just cruising on the road.

Just bought one, in Utah. $600 for a 2000, 3K miles, runs great. Good fun, can't go wrong with a Honda.

I lost my license 5 or 6 years ago and I decided to buy a 50cc or 49cc to be technical but I fucked up and got a boom 50 which is a tao Tao or one of the other 15 different names they are sold under. But a guy I know ended up finding a old Honda elite 50 and I wouldn't trade it for 10 taos that were brand new. I love your elite it's super nice for its year model and it's not the restricted engine. You better hold on to her and it hasn't had the oil tank that res 👍 . You have a keeper my friend.
Great scooter I had one when I was 16 sadly my parents forced me to sell it. I like that it’s not boxy like the bigger elite scooters. Wish I never sold it. Never had it on the road legally but had some fun with it for the month that I had it. I’m from Canada and I hardly ever see them for sale. Insurance is way too much for what they are up here. E bikes kind of killed the scooter market
That sucks that you have to insure them up there! I’d hate to have to pay insurance or taxes on a 49cc scooter. They’re also pretty rare here in Kentucky as well, I just watch Facebook marketplace regularly and when one pops up not running for cheap, I buy it.

Expansion Chamber.variator . I got one of these without a carburetor and exhaust pipe for a coil it didn't take long . They took it apart to get to the starter so I just left the starter off and put a rope start on it my TaoTao is no slouch stock with a k&n filter and upgraded ignition it will do 40.

just got a original 1987 needs a lot of work, do you have any recommendations for places to get a plastic gas tank or any good repair parts
While I'm not sure about a plastic gas tank, definitely join the Honda Scooters Only facebook group, lots of people there sell used parts for pretty cheap.

Yes , you are correct , all that blue smoke coming from the exhaust pipe from the two stroke , is GREAT for the environment
His dumb ass didn’t even take care of the bike he basically ran it down to the ground and I had to rebuild everything in it I’m almost done with it but yeah I Changed all the cheap Chinese parts out of it the best I can all I got to do now change the bushings out of the engine mount I got a replace the fly wheel and I got to change out the magneto to a lighter one racing one then I got to swap out my front forks and the front axle bushings fork Tree then last but not least I got a freaking replace the valve stems to a aftermarket one you know the aluminum ones because I heard the Chinese valvestems are cheap they crawled up there not as quality as the Japanese ones and that’s gonna be about it nothing else I can do to the Chinese bike except that the bike will be 100% of the market thank God I spent thousands of dollars on his bike lol🙏🤣🤣🤣

I have the German version of this moped it's called the Honda sa50-j my only complaint is the oil injection is it's flaw Its been in my family since it was new and it's blown up twice because of the oil injection failing it's easy to repair to avoid this I pre mix my fuel
Never in my life and I'm 66 have I heard of a oil pump failure
I've heard of them getting mixed up by human error but or lack of maintenance

Someone in facebook marketplace has a 1987 Honda Elite 50 with over 3400 miles for $800.00. Does that seem like a good price for it?
Prices vary based on where you live, here in Kentucky that would be too expensive, also it’s not an af16 scooter.

How reliable is it I am going to get one soon?
It still works great. I ride it probably 500 miles a year. I’d plan on a top end rebuild every 5-8k miles and changing the belt and rollers every 3-5k.

I have a 50cc tao I got it in 2019 it works great it does 35 on flat and 45 on a small downhill
And exactly lol exactly lo this is how people do like it’s kind of like jewelry the more expensive something is the more valuable is in the more people would like it just like people don’t like fucking silver or costume jewelry and I’m one of them I meant to this I do like gold which is a step higher than all of them on the pedestal and I believe it’s even better than platinum but when it comes to vehicles I think really vehicle doesn’t matter or shouldn’t matter how much money you spend on it or the quality of it because you can make any vehicle quality no vehicle really contains his value I believe the only thing that really contains is value as a home in a house if you keep up with it and fix it up that’s retains value that’s what you need to keep and hold onto because you can sell it for a hell of a lot of money vehicles why would it matter if you’re not gonna get your money back for it even if you do a bunch of modifications the average person really sells it for 3000 or 2000 and 4000 when it comes to Honda or Acura is in a put thousands of dollars in modifications same thing with scooters why doesn’t even matter Huh,? Lol in the price is gonna be low on scooters anyway not determine your country or state it’s just people don’t care about scooters like that scooters are less valued but you could put a hell of a lot of money into the money can actually be cars it’s just like cars people don’t care about Hondas or Acuras because they’re too cheap and less money but you can put a hell of a lot of money into that would be any car out there people like skylines more because they’re highly valued even though they’re just a show off your car is not like you can use it for every day use because most of them coming to theaters you got to get your priorities straight feels me
Those little four strokes are great engines. They will run all day wide open and never foul a plug
Because it's a four-stroke the cam chains are bulletproof they even have a little oil filter and oil pump change your oil and they will run forever
They don't come standard with piston slap or as you say ring rental that's something that happens to a two-stroke after too much revving and not the right oil
Revving it up like a child is what wears out engines I don't care what it is.. RPMs never help anything we know it will rev up if you're going to rev it up do it under a load

I want one soo bad but I’ve only found one and it’s stock other than a jdm body kit and dude wants $2500 for it witch is ridiculous for a scooter ; but there’s no scooter scene here in North Carolina witch sucks ass, all you can get around here are crappy Chinese 4 strokes
Don’t lose hope, One will pop up cheap eventually! Here in Kentucky it is also very hard to find these cheaply. Since Covid they seem to have went up to around $1,200 ish here, but I only see one every few months or so for sale.

Lol well seeing that I have a Chinese Scooter myself Taotao scooter I’m not a crackhead but they are dirt cheap and a lot of people don’t have money like yourself some people get money from the wealth of their families like I’m pretty sure you or trust fund baby‘s people that’s really out here that comes from shelters in grew out of them or come from a one family home don’t really come from a family with a lot of money and really out here doing stuff themselves it’s hard to have a lot of money to buy nicer vehicles that speaking that saying you can easily make a Chinese bike better or just as good as a Japanese bike you’re just gonna cost and take a lot of money and frustration changing all the parts out I’m already fully done muddying my bike out all I Gotta do is a few tweaks and I won’t have the problems that I used to have like I used to how to worry about lights blowing out which I put better lights in it and it doesn’t blow out anymore and it last long you just have to switch a lot of stuff out the bike because it is a cheap Chinese bike it’s a budget bike even though you’re paying only $400 of $500 for a Japanese bike it is equivalent to a Chinese bike that’s selling out now on Facebook market the parts are obviously much more expensive and it’s a two-stroke so they say the engine works a lot harder on a two-stroke then a four stroke so the engine breaks down more I hear mix complicit stories some say four strokes break down faster but I do highly believe two strokes do even though they’re faster and quicker out the crate and have much more quality parts but like I said it’s just like anything
People think buying a 80,000 Porsche is better than buying a 900 Honda or a 9000 Honda car or Integra yeah you might run into problems but you can easily build it up and make it much more faster and reliable than an $80,000 car that’s all I’m trying to say all cars and all scooters are the same you can easily just invest money into either or to make one better than the other if you have the right quality parts to do so in the money behind it lol if anything it’s just your preference yeah like I said nothing can beat Japanese quality in manufacturing but it’s possible to make anything better than anything with enough work and dedication even though it’s a Japanese Scooter is still flaws with that bike just as with the Chinese brands but if you like something you were going to overlook the flaws just like anything just like in relationships other people might say something you want want to see could you so in love head over heels for chick that don’t give a fuck about you same situation
