    Lots of poor design and cost cutting, the German brands put much more thought and quality into it. It's almost as if the people building these have never actually used a motorhome. The best bit - something the size of a bus that can't even fit a bike in - just amazing

    We went to the NEC show yesterday and saw the Grande Frontier but it was so busy we couldn't get near it so I'm very happy to have found your video. I did notice the most important factor that you didn't point out, the toilet roll is right above the radiator so there's it's pre-heated for you!

    A great review guys. It is a very luxurious motorhome. I fancy a motorhome at some point but that is defintely a beast to be fair. At first wasn't fussed by A class but the fact that the bed is just there, pull it down and it's there appeals more and more. A lot of newer motorhomes are ditching the over cab bed that is ideal for families but the A class still has that option.

    Fabulous video. Very interesting and balanced review thank you. It’s massive isn’t it? Don’t think I’d fancy driving it but it does seem pretty well thought out. For me, without all the stuff on the side, the kitchen is big enough but I’d agree that I’d want somewhere to put my brew in the lounge.love seeing Harvey growing up, he’s a great wee lad.

    Fantastic review as always, you really covered everything with this Motorhome down to the details like catching your arm on the garage doors - great job 👍😁
    Wow what can we say, firstly we think this is gorgeous looking both inside and outside plus what a payload! 🥰 It helped so much with you actually staying in it and experiencing everything, a proper review but so it's so important to understand the good and bad.
    If we were in the market for an A-Class this would be a firm contender, absolutely love it and thanks for bringing it to the masses 😂👍

      Definitely think these long term loans are a real eye opener to these sorts of vans! It’s a very different holiday experience to Camper Vans!

    It's a fantastic Motorhome. Big thumbs up to Autotrail for putting the doors on the correct side for the UK in an A Class. Disappointing to see a cold water outside shower and manual drain taps though. Those travel seats are much better than those pop up travel seats, which seem such a palaver. You need to plan the closing of those blinds. 😂 Don't think the kitchen is any bigger than our Kon-Tiki Sport's. That bedroom is super. We saw the black seat version at Perthshire Caravan's. I might put a quick video up on that, give you a mention.

    A very good review of a good looking motorhome. I have two issues though. The first is as I understand it, the GF88 does not have a double floor so in my opinion it's a summer only van. The second is that British vans in general seem to have a poor reputation for damp ingress and I'd like to know what steps Auto-Trail have taken to tackle this.

    • @GedandMichele
      @GedandMichele Před 2 lety

      Agree more needs to be done to reduce the ridk of leaks in the design itself as well as QC.Mine failed the damp check every year of my 5 years of ownership although to be fair the warranty was honoured.I've just ordered a new A class and didn't even consider British build which as a patriot, doesn't sit well.

  • @christopherhearn
    @christopherhearn Před 2 lety

    Top review and very relevant observations/comments too. You're right to highlight the very important garage doors issues. Does it have a double floor? If it does, then we would want more storage in the floor, especially for the kitchen area. It's very nice and ticks a lot of boxes, it's just that the criticisms are very valid and a deal-breaker for us.

    Two things I like is the back bedroom you can walk around the bed and the hot water heat with radiators. I do have a question when the motor is running does it heat up the water for the radiators?

    Does the passenger seat swivel a full 180 degrees so that you can comfortably put your feet on the side seats when watching TV.

  • @hettysmotorhomeadventures4860

    Great video, I would have thought that being an AClass that it would have an internal propane tank rather than use bottled gas. Has anyone ever said Harvey looks like Rubens Barrichello lol, take care all x

    Wow I love this motorhome it looks amazing. Regarding the problem with acces to the toll booths in Europe. We found using the Emovis tags so useful. So when you approach the tolls, the tag automatically pays, so no need to stop or scramble for change. A game changer for us. Great Vlog xx

      @andreabalderstone4272 Před 2 lety

      @@pjgwiltshire oh no really😳 we love the tags. They are great fun - seeing how long it takes for the barrier to lift before you nearly hit it 😳. Are there any other options or do you have to go back to good old fashioned cash or card ? 😊

    • @pjgwiltshire
      @pjgwiltshire Před 2 lety +1

      You can register as a HGV and get a Tag that charges class 4, That is expensive. Driving a MH under 3m but over 3.5 ton, will in most cases get the toll booth to recognise you as a class 2 when you should be class 4. So that way paying cash lets you get it cheaper as the automatic eye has got it wrong. If by chance the toll booth then states class 4, press intercom button, state Camping car Class 2 and the control centre changes to class 2 thus money saved.
