  • In this video I show how to prep brand new cloth diapers that have natural fibers as the absorbency. I am prepping newborn cloth diapers for my third baby, including prefolds, flats, fitted diapers, and a few AIOs. Natural fibers such as organic cotton and hemp need to be washed and dried multiple times to remove naturally occurring oils and increase absorbency. Prepping will also shrink the fabric and make it fluffy.

    I have one TIP in prepping new cloth diaper: wash in hot water & detergent first, let them dry naturally and then use the dryer, it will be quicker

      Thanks for the tip! Maybe I'll try it that way for the next prepping round. 💜 Heidi

      Congratulations on your expected baby! Have fun prepping diapers! 🧷 You can order more flats or prefolds once you try them on your baby and see which ones you prefer. You don't have to have everything in advance. 💜 Heidi

    Aww what are the rainbow edge and blue edge tiny fitters??

    • @ECpeesy
      @ECpeesy  Před 11 měsíci

      That sounds like Luludew fitteds (rainbow) and maybe Babeegreens (blue). I did a separate review video of newborn fitted diapers.

    Hi ! :) I would love to use natural fibers for my new baby due in July, but my husband and I cannot decide between flats or prefolds

    • @ECpeesy
      @ECpeesy  Před rokem

      Flats are more “one size” and versatile. I have a separate video explaining all about flats.

    Hi how often do you prep the cloth diapers? also my washing machine does not have hot water linked to it how will this affect the wash?

    • @ECpeesy
      @ECpeesy  Před 3 lety +7

      Hi, The prepping process only happens once, before you start using the diapers on your baby.
      Once you are using them you can wash every other day or so with two wash cycles. It's best to wash on warm and then on hot. It's not impossible to wash with cold water, but not ideal. You want to make sure the detergent you use works with your water temperature.
      When I didn't have hot water in my machine I handwashed with hot water in the sink and then did a wash cycle in the machine.
      If you have hot water in a sink or bathtub, handwashing may be a good option. You can learn how to do that by searching "Flats and Handwashing Challenge". 💜 Heidi
