      Its Years after you made this video, and i just had to send you a big THANK YOU! Just did this on my sisters 2001 Buick. The buckle would not even go into the receiving end at all. I was able to see the mechanism stuck. After liberally applying silicone and jamming an eye glass flat head screw driver in there i had great success!! Thanks buddy

    It really works!! my belt has been not "clicking" for almost a year now and finally decided to try to fix it and went with this method before i went to go get ripped off by a "professional". I went to o reileys, bought qd40 and the electrical cleaner, it took about 30 to 35 minutes but it worked!!! and it has no problem with staying locked in besides any amount of pull or pressure . Thank you so much for this vid, because of you my partner was able to sit in the front with me for our 2 hour thanksgiving trip lol 😊☺☺☺😊☺

    I'm a do-it-yourselfer also, but in this particular case it was worth going to the dealer. I got a brand new seatbelt buckle installed (part number 04816-SCA-A13ZA) and it was fully covered by the lifetime warranty. If you're outside of US and your seatbelts are not covered by the warranty then follow this good video.

  • @j_freed
    @j_freed Před 6 lety +3

    I owe you one for this! I had been wondering f either WD-40 or Silicone spray were acceptable or a terrible idea. I skipped the solvent spray and gave it a good shot with silicone using the straw from the 40 and a rag.
    And I was so sure a dime coin was lodged in it, nope it just looks that way; the sideways-pushing mechanism gets seized from years of random car gunk. It has to be able to slide or you it won't let you press the clasp all the way into the mechanism, that was the thing stumping me. And because it has a positive engagement the silicone doesn't cause it to slip out, it's only lubricating the sprung internal slider which means the thing either totally works or it doesn't.

    Awesome video man, you're a funny great with a great sense of humor thanks for helping everyone out and saving them some money. Thanks for taking the time to make the video for us all. I was taking my car in for a n oil change and inspection and what not and i told them my buckle wouldnt click and right away they just tel me oh its bad you gotta replace it its 106$ for a 2011 toyota corolla driver side seat belt buckle but i loosened it up and slammed it around a littel bit and blew in it trying to see if anything would come out and though i didnt see anything come out after that it started clicking just fine no problem at all.. and the god damn dealer trying to get me to buy a new one saying its broken they cant fix it.... i took it there and told them about the problem because iw as told theres a sepcial tool they use to get seatbelts like this unstuck.... and my car only had a 3 year warranty and the seat belt is no longer covered...... 2011 its 2014 just barley out of warranty and the first thing that broke on my car.... dealers aren there to help you they're just there to lie to you and rip you off
