    I used a q-tip to try and get dust out of the hinge area, and now theres a few cracks in the bevel. Just ordered one now, thanks for the video when I attempt the replacement. For everyone else, just know the screen is INSANELY DELICATE, so please take your time, follow every step exactly, and never use excess force. Lets hope I don't break my screen.

      @@mrtoasticles7144 Very nerve racking when I pulled off the broken cover as it broke into many pieces but with the help of a blow dryer it wasn't too bad. Took a little time to put on the new cover correctly but it all worked out in the end.

    I could make it successfully! I broke the bezel while replacing the broken LCD, of course I broke the bezel on the new one! I wanted to try first on the old screen, and I could remove the old (and good) bezel from the old screen. I used hot air, and my shim kit since it is the thinnest but the sturdiest tool I had. It took roughly 15 minutes to remove, but I feel super happy!

    Do this very carefully. Only insert a few mm into the top edge of the bezel. Then use micro electronic tweezers and grab the top. Apply gentle pressure as you heat and it will gradually come off. If it it too hot you will see the LCD develop a black blob. Remove the heat and it will recover. Do not force it that is how you will break your screen. Also so do not insert anything more then a few mm deep into the top of the bezel. I definitely would not use a xacto knife like he is doing. It is only glued on top so once the exacto penetrates this it will slide right into the deep part breaking the connectors. I used one of the those plastic pics for iphone screen removal to get it started. Then I gripped it with fine curved electronics tweezer. Applied heat and with gentle pressure the glue slowly released. Took about twenty minutes and some patientce. Also note where the connectors are in this video when he removes the beze laround 2:20. Those are the parts you have to be very careful. If you break that then you break your screen.

    Your channel is great and deserves alot more views. Cheers
    Edit: I tried this, I’d recommend to not try it yourself. There is a connector in the middle that is really really fragile and you need something extremely thin (I was already using something you’d call thin in a normal household).
    Result: get a new screen assembly because the connectors are broken.

    Hi, thanks for the video! Is it also possible to place the new bezel on top of the old one? Or will it stick out too much?

    • @iTouch-repair
      @iTouch-repair  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, there is a space between the lcd and the bottom case and that space is calculated.
      So I think that it’s better to not place it on top of the old one because then it could crack the lcd panel that underneath the bezel and the you have lines on your LCD.
      But then you need to check I am not 100% sure.
