- In this special episode i visit South Tyneside O-Gauge Group club to see a truly massive O-Gauge model railway being built by Mick Worrall and the South Tyneside O Gauge group of Eastfield motive power depot. Mick is the owner of Durham Trains of Stanley and this amazing layout and has invited me along to see the progress of this huge O-Gauge build.

Eastfield traction depot was my old yard when I was a fireman with BR my uncle was a mainline driver at eastfield and a steam locomotive driver at DAWSHOLM sheds maryhill Glasgow I worked at eastfield from 1974 onwards your model is very authentic

Wow brought back memories of my train spotting days in late 70s in old springburn. Walking through train sheds no one batted an eyelid. 😎😎😎😎

That model of Eastfield is on another level of incredible. In O gauge I cant imagine how big the layout is on total

That was where I spent some of my time in the S&T Department
I've seen clips of this years ago and always wanted to see more. This is the first time I've seen this in the full so to speak. I stay 60 or so seconds from the depot and went to the primary school next to it. The flat model is absolutely spot on and the opposite side of the yard from the main-line there is Eastfield Park which would be nice to see hopefully.
I seen the ending years and the whole process of the new depot being built, even played in the building yards of the new depot before the lines were put in place.

Hopefully Mick has seen this comment and has jumped in to reply. I do believe it has been done by eye, memory and using images. But I am sure Mick will be able to answer this. I shall ask him in the Next instalment video on this wonderful layout coming soon. Cheers

Hi David 👋. Even on video it doesn’t quite give the scale of enormity of this layout. Still lots of work to do but I believe it will be one of those exhibition layouts you could just sit and watch all the movements for a hours. Looking forward to seeing it at the shows. Cheers
With the massive, how to clean the track?
All of the cleaning is done by hand as far as I am aware
Definitely like to see this just lacking 25 26 27 40 locomotives hopefully you can give us a update video
