Great video. You need to use the fan shroud on these dent side fords as well as the rubber seals between the grill shell and the radiator support. There is too much space around and between the fan and the radiator, this causes the fan to suck air on to the engine and not through the radiator. These fords are notorious for having the shrouds breaking and those seals tend to just flop off. Love your truck bro. 79 F100 Ranger 351W owner.
Hi Bryan. I have a leak in the radiator of my '78 F-150 but want to keep the original stock brass radiator (my truck only has 70k on it !) . Do you recommend having it rebuilt or should I buy a new aluminum one? thanks and keep the great vids comin'! PS: Your truck is a beaut
Hi Bryan, do you happen to have a link to this specific radiator? I'm looking but cannot find a radiator with the correct inlet and outlet orientation and width of the core/mounting brackets. Also the price of the one you have sounds reasonable. Thanks.
@@zacharysheffield9413 problem is I'm in Europe and not in the States, larger stuff gets pretty expensive to ship from the States to Europe. However, I will take a look at Autozone, thanks for the tip.
Can you make a cold start video on all your carbureted trucks and cars, especially this ford truck... And show us the startup procedures? Couldn't see what your foot was doing on the gas in this one.
That’s not correct. My 78 custom has round headlights. If you look into it, the 78/79 customs came with round headlights but if you get a higher trim level then they come with square ones
since mine isn't an automatic I don't have a trans cooler. However the lines are easy to remove. I always use a line wrench to remove them from the radiator, because an open end wrench may round off the fitting. I also have a 73 F-250.
first project i'm having to do in my grandfather's f100 without him. thanks for recording this.
Fantastic video. If you could record any other projects you have on your Ford F100 it would be appreciated.

About to swap out my radiator on my 66 F100 and your video helped greatly. Thank you!
Great video. Couldn't have done it better.
thanks for the video I had fluid coming out of the overflow and thought that I had blown a hose
Damn a half inch bolt holding that rad on? That’s an awful large diameter bolt for that.
Your draining of rad looked simular to mine.
What do you do about trans cooler lines? I need to replace the radiator in my '73 F-100.

We’re did you find a replacement radiator because I’m looking for one
Great video! I am just curious where are the transmission line in/out to radiator? I am wrong to think that there should be tranny lines?
Should you use dexcool coolant for old truck
Your missing the fan shroud which really may be the problem.
can you tell me where you ordered this radiator from.

AutoZone should have some at a reasonable price.

Where did you get this radiator
What siz
e core is it?
El precio actual
What thermos stat you running?
ford 300 inline straight 6 probably 180
there was probably nothing wrong with the rad, put in a shroud.
leaked though
50/50 coolant is a rip off. It pretty much costs the same as the concentrate so with the 50/50 your paying for water and not pure concentrate.
They stopped making the round headlights after 1977!

It's best to use gloves when you're working on an automobile.
