I was going to skip this video, because I don't like making videos like this - but enough of you asked for my opinion so here it is. I spent 2 days editing this one, so I hope you at least enjoy it, even if it's mostly bad news.
Honestly i love it when you give it your opinion cuz purely with your playtime and indepth knowledge of the game
Been waiting for days for this. You're the best standard we have of quality due to your knowledge. It's hard to gauge other people since they are ignorant or dismissive of issues.
Been waiting for your video honestly, thanks.
Thanks for sharing! I also noticed the crash heaviness. One more thing I didn't notice mentioned is the volume issues I kept encountering. It seems there wasn't a lot of ability now to be able to individually target volume attributes. 100 percent all the way on everything.
Thank you so much Strat your hard work is very appreciated, i hope you are doing alright this evening.
Sure the update was a bit disappointing and yet rewarding on other fronts, quite honestly we just wanted to hear your take on the matter as we have gotten used to it. More power to you and i hope you have a wonderful day/night!
Constant bashing can obviously get tedious, but a general covering of updates will always be much appreciated even if it is critical. Thanks for the video!
Usually when I make a negative videos, it's mostly in jest and good fun - but this patch was awful and to make a video saying otherwise would be disingenuous. Thanks for watching!
@@Strat-Guidespeople don't like the truth, keep the good fight on!
@@jacobbarre3618 Except when the video itself is a lie. He made the video with mods installed. Thats why he had all those crashes and issues. Thats the truth. Do you like it?
@@teratokomi8731 I definitely appreciate it lol
@@teratokomi8731 and you know this, how?
The ability to target enemy formations ONLY when using charge or advance (meaning you cannot stand ground and focus fire with archers, for example) is the most TaleWorlds thing ever. Great idea, questionable (to put it politely) execution
That's a good point, especially for archers. I didn't even consider that. They could have easily added the option to "hold ground" while targeting just like they did with charge and advance
Also the thing with wives, no more death time in towns waitting for ur wife to be pregnant
@@FakiuChairo i swear that inhave knovked my wife while in campaign before this patch
@@Strat-Guides Really what they need is someway for the archers to maintain their max distance, but get in range first
Archers shoot at their max range with both commands.
Strat Gaming is my go to channel for the REAL review of any patch. A lot of smaller channels tend to just suck up to TW and be like "ooo ain't that cool" without ever actually testing the feature themselves. I will always appreciate the honesty and effort that goes into these reviews.
Thanks for the honesty. You've always been a mostly positive channel, so I'm hoping TaleWorlds takes this feedback to heart. Crashes should never be acceptable, even in a beta branch they shouldn't be dismissed with "it's just the beta."
Yeah I don't like making these kind of videos - there's enough negativity on the forums and I don't want to add to that. But I can't make a video praising something that I don't feel is good. I've been positive about pretty much all the previous beta branch patches, but this one was just too much for me to get past. Thanks for watching!
I miss the release version, had so few issues until they started patching 😭
@@quartqwertbudisgood By patching, you mean modding. He had so few issues until he started modding his game. Thats all this video is. A showcase of what happens when you mod the game.
@@teratokomi8731what are you talking about ?
It's so crazy how much this channel has grown! Keep it up dude.
I appreciate it!
Thank you for taking your time and giving us this thorough breakdown! I've been excited for the update on paper, but I havent played on the beta since it's not compatible with my modded campaign. It's truly concerning to see how things are turning out.
I felt the same way! It looked great when reading the patch notes, but there's just too many issues for me to recommend it. Thanks for watching!
@@Strat-Guides Talewords official motto should be: "Sounds good, doesn't work"
You had Firebrand perk active while testing the kingdom policies which threw off all your calculations. For example feudal Inheritance. By default the proposal to give a settlement to someone else costs 200 influence not 100. And with the policy it goes up to 400. If you have the firebrand perk it effects the base 200 reducing it to a total 300 correctly.
Interesting, I'll have to go back and double check that. So that means they are doing the math additively and not multiplicatively. Also from my previous testing, Firebrand only worked on calling policy votes so I'm wondering if they changed it? I remember checking this when I was doing the perks guide for Charm. Thanks for the heads up!
@@Strat-Guides I was actually curious about that. I don't currently own the game myself but I've seen other playthroughs were enacting certain things costed 150 instead of 100 so I was curious if that was affecting the calcs at all.
About pushing ladders, I noticed interesting thing in the #12 Devblog video. They specifically waited when climbing there, they knew it's too slow and yet they still added it
Brooo they just need to speed up the animation and it would be fixed lmao
@@MasterDracer it's too much work ^^
I think they deliberately did that so you can't instantly push down the ladder when a bunch of enemies is trying to climb it, because then, the enemy has zero chance to climb up and get slaughtered by your archers. But you can push down the ladder between the enemy reinforcement so they must spend more time to reach you again. It's just a game-balance thing.
@@macobuzi right it’s like people just want it to be easy mode
@@MrNinja543 Its more a matter of wanting common sense features, baseline things even warband could do.
I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to test all of that man. Keep up the amazing work.
Indepth Details and editing always on point....u r different then other youtubers pushing out vids super fast without any of ur Details...thats why we love ur channel.
Still the best Bannerlord channel out there 😊
I just love the intro.. i spend “actually” time testing before commenting 😂
Lol I get it - people need to get views to earn a living so I'm not knocking them. Just for me personally, I can't really put something out if I don't really know. OR I'll at least make it clear in the beginning that I didn't test it fully.
@@Strat-Guides if only TW actually tested the patches they released 🤭
@@Strat-Guides FWIW I take you way more seriously than other channels. I'm kind of dismissive of other channels and take them with a grain of salt.
Good to see the only video about the new patch that matters is out. Good job strat!!
I heard he modded the game, so his review of the new patch is pointless.
@@teratokomi8731 I used 2 mods in the beginning (both of which don't change any game mechanics) to be able to test late game mechanics. When the game started crashing, I turned them off. Your comment is pointless
@@teratokomi8731 Don't care, strat makes the most thorough and helpful bannerlord videos. I assume he knows what hes doing
@@bofad6074 Well then, since he knows what hes doing, I guess we can assume that when he got the new patch, that he did a fully clean install and started a new campaign without any mods installed in order to get an accurate review. Oh wait...
I have mostly set this game aside to wait until it reaches a mature state, so I appreciate honest and meaningful coverage of the state of the game. Thanks.
I gave up and am waiting for overhaul mods since taleworlds can’t make anything good with ten times the employees and budget in comparison to warband.
That's probably a decade from now after they abandon it and let the mod community do their job for them but better.
Thanks for the video!! I love your playthroughs!!
Have been just playing CK3, and your ambient music made me shrink the video to check if i forgot to close it xD
Thanks for taking the time to test and release the video. A lot of good changes in this patch, hopefully they are reviewing feedback from various sources and can get the niggles fixed /tweaked before actual release. As far as I'm aware they've not advised when it's due out which can hopefully remove some pressure and allow them a little more time with resolving things.
Thanks for covering this! Really appreciate your candid thoughts on it and the great work testing. With so many things not actually working, I've really depended on your videos to figure out whats really broken, what actually works, and whats impacted by whacky Taleworlds math since I cant trust what the game says half the time. Thanks and looking forward to more!
This is exactly why so many people wanted you to put out a video about this patch. Most people post videos just mentioning what the patch changed, which you can read in the patch notes yourself. But you actually go and test these changes and tell us how and if they were implemented.
On one hand it's great that Taleworlds is improving Bannerlord and constantly working on it. On the other hand, damn, when can I play a normal campaign with few mods and not get broken with all these patches?
Yeah this seems like one of those patches that require mods to make it enjoyable. I just finished 2 world conquests (about 50 hours each) in the last patch and I have a really fun time. But after spending 20 hours on 1.2.0 I'll probably take a break from Bannerlord OR stick to 1.1.4. We'll see
Personally, I just don't update anymore. I have a sick modlist. Plus the game is just unplayable without rbm imo.
They need to add rbm to base game in a difficulty slider or something.
Well, it's impossible for me to play with that mod, after more than 100 hours of using it, I'm done with the fact that there are units that don't attack the enemy next to them because they maintain a "formation" or whatever the idea that is designed. to me that is anything but realistic
Last large patch happened 4 months ago.
Even the last small one was over a month ago.
It feels barely any different to 2 years ago. These patches add nothing useful
Fantastic overview of the a single game patch. Great editing. Props. Especially for people who are currently playing.
Gonna have to install some time soon i feel.
God I love these videos. You’re the only one who does this topic justice. I know it sucks, but never stop telling us the truth.
Great work. thank you for doing all that testing.
I was waiting for this video, thanks for reluctantly making it. I saw all the big hype youtubers going off so I was interested to hear what you and flesson had to say about it. Nice to see things moving in a better direction at least but with updates being so slow to come out now I wish they were a bit more polished
Thanks for the work on this vid! It's good to see an honest view on the patch that is straight to the point, I guess mods on pc are the way to go to get the most out of the game right now. Looking forward to your next vid.
Thank you so much Strat your hard work is very appreciated, i hope you are doing alright this evening.
Sure the update was a bit disappointing and yet rewarding on other fronts, quite honestly we just wanted to hear your take on the matter as we have gotten used to it.
Haven’t had the chance to test out the updates myself. Thank you for doing this! Looks like a lot of TW math is at work here as usual.
Well done on the testing bro. 😊
Great video. Thank you for this.
Basically same conclusion as you in the end. I’ll stick with 1.1.5 modded for now until we can get some positive feedback that things are working better.
Well done, especially the "not taking at face value" part.
That "everything" video popped up in the YT feed. Had to turn it off after skimming a bit and read the stuff myself...
The testing you do keeps being insightful, thanks.
Was exploring that let-down of a 4X game Age of Wonders 4 for a while, where it seems that paradoxically the publisher triumphed over the game developers - for now.
Their patching went about the same, without the TW math as far as I can tell. ._.
this'll help them a lot, thank you so much!
Thank you for the work you did testing!
Thank you for always maintaining your high quality in videos, hopefully TW will follow your lead
Nice to be able to bribe for info at the taverns. Do greatly appreciate the kingdom deaths. Wonder if minor clans (hand, flame ect.) will get wiped if they are still employed by the dying kingdom. Warehouse is about time in my opinion. I appreciate you doing the review for a patch with so much info.
I appreciate your standpoint but I'm glad you caved on this one since it covers some quality of life issues that have been long awaited, Switching to the beta crashed my game but when it comes out I can't wait to get big with workshops
Thank you so much for this video! A thorough Strat review tells me wether or not to bother with updating all my mods to the new patch.
It is baffling how bad cavalry AI does against infantry. With the skills some of the high tier cavalry has, it should be one touch one kill vs most infantry units when charging in - couched or not.
I am glad they added unit targeting but I think targeting should be independent of move or attack commands. So it would be possible to target one unit but stand in formation and wait until they come into range.
All subsequent orders, like advance, fall back charge etc. should be with regards to the selected target.
I appreciate videos like this that talk about and show examples of the patch notes, especially if the patch leads to terrible changes or major bugs. The game in my opinion is in no state to play bad on what you showed, and I will wait until it is confirmed resolved before wasting my time playing the game.
You definetly earned my interaction for this video. Fast pace, condense information and always straight to the point with your criticism. Good job!
I guess this patch means I, and probably a lot of other people too, will keep on using an older patch to play which feels kind of strange to be honest. Is there something to keep in mind when playing on an older patch with a dozen of mods? Do I have to avoid any trys of steam to update MnB as the patch changes smth in your main and maybe mod files andyouI would have to reinstall all mods with their correspending old versions, or is it enough to just select the older steam MnB version after downloading the 1.2 patch? Sorry for the long post, but this is my first major patch and reinstalling the mods would take quite some time^^
Making Videos like this cant be fun but super appreciated. Seeing the combat changes is sad as I agree, the aggressive combat made this game very fun.
One thing you forget he playing with mods that mess with how the game plays a lot of the stuff he says her is incorrect due to his mods which is why a patch that was tested should be without modz.
My man do you have any idea what modding is or how it works? Testing is done without mods. This is not like a rewrite that permanently alters the game. Mods can be disabled without any repercussions.@@KraftyGamez
Loved the patch review. As always well informed and properly tested.
Sad about some of the features I was excited about but I can see are not as good as I hoped.
One annoying bug I know it's in the patch notes as fixed but I didn't see you mention it: before when you got a masterwork type weapon and exited the game, on load, the stats would revert to normal stats, making anything good useless. It should now be fixed and still keep it's bonus stats after loading. Did you see if that was the case?
Thanks for keeping it real!
FYI , there's a "second chance" feature in this patch. I mean for wooing lades/lords. If failed the persuasion , wait for 3 days and the dialogue option appear again and again❤ after 3 days. No more fears of rejection lol😂
Ooh I missed that one - that's a really good addition!
Thanks for the video! was super hyped to see what fixes are implemented - especially around sieges. Super bummed about hearing the combat one though, might hold off on the beta for a while but I am eager to see when they'll make the enemies more aggressive again
does it generally take long before a patch leaves the beta phase?
One of the most exciting parts of the update for me is actually the changed clothing colors... But I'll be chilling in the stable version for now (with all the mods), so it's nice to see the new mechanics in action!
I'm surprised you found it so unstable, I've been playing all week without crashes. I appreciate the video though, it's great to hear what you think of the patch.
thanks for your long list of insightful observations as always, this game has more going for it then not.. I think it would have taken me a year to discover everything you covered.
Didnt taleworlds also implement a new fearure where when you tell your archers to advance they stop and shoot while in range instead of melee? I would think that works in conjunction with the formation targeting
Yeah i'm gonna stay with a previous version until they fix the combat. Thanks for your efforts in testing Strat
oyeo strat, question about the archers. i haven't played in a while so i don't remember what they did but what happens if you were to fall back while targeting with the new patch? like do they shoot while retreating as they do while advancing now? come to think of it, they might have always done that. anyways thanks for the vidya and happy 4th.
Yeah they fall back a few steps and then take a shot, fall back some more etc. Fallback is really good for archers and skirmisher infantry actually, I use it often. Happy 4th!
Regarding the birth and aging mechanic on console. If I have an existing save which had this as turned off (shown as birth and death previously), would this stop aging in that play through or would I need to start a new game for it to apply? Thank you in advance for any responses.
Thanks for your work in this bro! And in other vids. I appreciate your thorough testing and I know that takes a lot of time & effort. Thank you for your work!
Do you know if these updates go into effect for current campaigns? Or do we need to start a new campaign for these updates to effect them?
PS, looks like this update hasn’t come out for console yet. I’m on series X.
The issue with the archers continuing to advance is they are trying to get "line of sight" to take a shot. If you spread them out, they stay put and shoot. If another archer steps in their way, they 'advance' to get a clear shot. I played with this a bit, they start to get bunched up and I had to spread them out and fall back, then advance again. I've been using that tactic for over a year and it works better now that they stop advancing.
Good to know. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks, that was really helpful!
Thanks for watching!
just waiting your comments. ty for video, as usually its so good again. Thx dude
idk if its a bug or what but i cant target formations. In videos I see when the command UI pops up all units have a symbol appear but not for me. idk if i dont have something enabled or what the problem is
Funny to see this video as the top recommendation on a video that praises the new patch. I actually enjoy seeing both sides. I'm keeping checking back with Bannerlord to see when it's going to be worth playing, seems like it's not yet time.
When you crashed that much did you "verify your files" if you use Steam to check if its something up with them?
Sometimes installastions fail.
And well I've had 0 crashes with the patch, and 20hrs was most likely what I played in the first day alone ehem(yes I remembered to shower and eat, but not enough sleep).
Thanks for the update
Hi there, do we know at this time which mods are working with this last version of the game? Thanks
I haven't played the game for long enough to even understand how these patch notes affect me, yet, lol! I'm totally enjoying it as a new player, though, and I can't wait to master this game!
I know what you mean, I'm approaching 5k hours at this point so my perspective is a bit different. Personally, I would stay on 1.1.4 patch for now and hopefully they can get 1.2.0 into a decent shape before it goes to the public branch.
@@Strat-Guides I'm a console peasant so I don't really have a choice but, hey, at least I got disable birth and death! The irony is, now that I have played the game for a little bit, I kind of like the idea of having children to prolong my game session.
The honey moon phase with this game was so sweet for me, it really was. Sadly, it's when you realize the problems in the game, how long have been around, and TW's inability to address them or even acknowledge them when you fall hard with Bannerlords. It's a perfect case of what could've been. We still no have diplomacy, each change in the economy is convoluted and in a way that make side grades more than actual improvements, troop management is clunky to say the least in a game when basically all you do is manage troops, and my personal favorite; the AI at kingdom level is infuriating, I honestly can't play another campaign with my fellow noblemen decide to engage in four wars at once while running around the map with the war-bands up and down changing their objective several times a day. But don't worry, new battle maps and shiny pieces of armor galore.
@@MalakianM2S yeah, I know what I'm getting into as far as the developer is concerned. The community has done a very good job of documenting that kind of thing so I was aware of it relatively early. It's going to take me several weeks, if not months, to master this game so I at least have that much time to enjoy with it. I bought it on sale, so I'm thinking I'm still going to get my money's worth, but I hope the developers give the game the love it should have and it becomes something I can return to, over and over again, for the rest of my life.
@@MalakianM2S Just wait for mods to fix everything, every mount and blade game is incomplete people who say Warband was amazing dont play vanilla warband because vanilla is absolutely terrible.
These games have always thrived with mods and been terrible vanilla experiences bannerlord is no different.
Is it changed/bugged in 1.2 that skill level 200 charm perks. Moral/natural leader works like this: My clan has empire culture. I am the ruler of the Southern Empire. I am trying to recruit lords to join my kingdom from the Western Empire. That clan is an empire clan that I am trying to recruit. With Moral leader perk I get 4 chat checks but with Natural leader only 3 ? I think this should be another way? Am I right. At least from what I understand the perk description says.
I noticed in tournaments that it takes a few seconds before the ai starts to do anything. It's probably the same for other maps but I just can't see it due to the distance
Lol yeah it's like they are on dial-up modems or something :D
Im still annoyed that they refuse to add an option to let you edit your banner background color AFTER you start a kingdom. Simple things that would make us happy. Im stuck with black for the rest of the game
So true. It would be nice to have more Banner options too
Playing on PC? Press B on the main map to open a handy banner customiser, complete with a flag and shield to preview it.
There's a chance it's part of a mod I have installed, but I doubt it.
@@MotecAzurePost-kingdom setup you can edit the sigil, or emblem of your clan but not the background color. Its been acknowledged by the devs and they say it's not a bug but an intended mechanic. It's like this on vanilla bannerlord regardless of console or PC
Last night I had a governor in a castle, and when I got there, she was not in it. I had to recall her to the castle, because I could not find her. So glad I see you know about it. Thought I was going crazy.
I used to minimise weather in M&B Warband, hope this possible ; warehouse might be interesting
Wonder if they fixed the sound bug when you fast forward after you fall in battle, least on ps5 if I fast forward I get a loud screeching sound in my headset and all other sound after battle is gone. Only thing that fixes it is rebooting the game
9:45 seems to be at least for me the best part of this patch but i rather keep my older version and just use mods for that while i finish my current campaign also 11:14 LOL! great editing and content as always
Regarding the /improved siege AI/, the ranged troops do a bit better positioning themselves, but the offensive melee AI just climbes up a ladder and groups up on the wall and stands in place indefinitely. As far as combat goes, the AI is a bit better at blocking attacks at the cost of half their attack rate. Makes it more manageable in 1vX situations, but AI is annoying to kill at times now and take longer to deal with individually.
The offensive melee AI mostly works but sometimes has that stand in place problem. No idea what causes it. Sometimes taking command and then delegating it again breaks the AI paralysis.
such a well made an informative video
Thanks!
I feel like they should update the formation sorting to allow specific troops for example polearms when you select the icon your presented two options braceable polearms and short polearms like the pilum allowing you to make specific formations for different things
About cav not couching lances i have found out that the enemy has even 1 guy who can shoot or throw stuff they refuse to couch.
13:35
That bug could be turned in a feature,as a high level companion with smithing or the player would assist in creating these items
About smithing I think it is now you have chance to get any modifier. The closer your skill to the difficulty the lesser chance to get bad modifier amd better chance to get good ones. My characters all have below 50 smithing and sometimes Legendary modifier do pop up even though I crafting a 100+ difficulty weapons.
About AI it is still not god and is why RBM exist anyway. We still need to wait for 1.2 compatible RBM though.
Formation targeting is great. Although it have some flaw, I think it is a really great addition.
I hope they increase companion(NPCs) base exp gain. At least for their skills.
I have one play through and I only encounter 1 or 2 crash that is not mod related.
Overall I think the patch is great and since it is still in beta, I hope they fix most problematic thing such as policies you mentioned and the AI.
I know im late to the party here but u just recently got M&B on PC is there any mods to fix the circle and square formation?
I've been doing a cav focused build because I thought it would be fun with the new targeting but after some 40 hours I can confirm that its awful. Anyways great video, keep it up!
Thanks for sharing, glad to see it wasn't just my testing that showed it. I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
I have about 50+ hours into a new campaign on 1.2 beta, and had no crash so far. I don't use any mods though. I noticed arena tournaments had became harder and not as easy to cheese as a newb to get some quick funds .
Most of the crashing I had involved sieges with Empire fiefs, so it's possible that it was specific to those fiefs. As for the tournaments, I don't typically use cheese to win them so it's not something I tested. The biggest thing I noticed was how slow the AI attacked back, which means you have tons of time for your brain to catch up and block in the correct direction. It just wasn't fun for me personally :(
Thank your for providing content with value and not just another clickbait "this changes everything"
i get the frustration, which is why i stay away from the beta branches. it will get cleaned up quite a bit for the official release, but a lot of what goes into the official release will not be properly summarized as they tend to differ to the beta patch notes even if the implementation changes slightly. to do a proper review you need to check out the beta stuff unfortunately, and those probably aren't ready for normal release (the official ones feel like beta patches). there is always good mixed with bad, and sometimes the bad kneecaps the good (the cheering instead of running down the last bandits is a good example, as it made the bandits quests impossible without autoresolve).
I love your videos Strat!
funny i get kinda opposite results compared to you regarding cav in testing. it is possible that campaign options influence your testing? i did everything on realistic settings and i hardly find any formation of cavalry that does not beat 130-150% of their own numbers, same unit tier . horse archers often even winning outnumbered battles 100 vs 180-200
With the feudal inheritance isn't it taking into account the villages as well?
Hey 👋
It's a shame you had a bad experience with your testing of 1.2.0☝️
To me, while there are still bugs and some features that needs improvements (the patch is still in beta, I'm assuming most of those will be addressed with the live version) i had the best native Bannerlord experience of my 3000 hours of play time.
You missed the siege changes (yes those are not in the patch note... 😅). Now we can choose the siege weapons we want to construct in siege defenses. Also the AI tends to retreat way more if an assault goes wrong. This is expending the time duration of siege defenses and makes the overall gameplay of those way more fun with tactical choices to make like, sally out, ambushes, wait for reinforcement, etc.
The mele AI, is more defensive and to me this feels way better is native battles. It also tends to circle the player which makes 1 vs many bots WAY harder. I didn't try 1vs1 enough to tell if combats in this case are bad but i think that you don't show duels against lords who could still be a chance is tournaments.
The targeting system needs to be improved but to me it's a really good way in the right direction.
Overhall, i think that the live version of this patch will be the best Patch we ever had if Taleworlds take the time to fix the beta issues 👐 the overall experience feels like the 1.0.0 we should had in October ☝️
Do they not have a separate difficulty setting for fight ai to fix your problem with less aggressive enemies? I can't afford the game so I just keep playing warband and watch all your videos
Im pretty sure jackie fish tested the archers stuff and he said to do engage so they use max of their range not charge.
I can tell you, the leveling for combat skills is doing great. You might want to try putting companions in charge of formations, or just part of them, and have them fight instead of just having them off doing nothing. I've seen a steady increase as time has gone on, albeit much slower in the parties that were created as opposed to the companions directly in my troop. If you aren't using your companions as fellow banner holders that enhance your troops, you aren't playing to your full strength. If you don't have your heroes join troops in battles, you are underutilizing them. It can be tedious at times, but worth it.
@Strat_Gaming What version of the game do you find to be the best so far?
7:33 this one is straight up silly. The ladder is already tipped over, there's no way to recover it from that position. Very odd, they must clearly adjust this and add a point at which the attacker reaching the top can no longer revert the push.
Lol it's that TW math - some different kind of physics :)
The AI staying at max range has a caveat. The AI is allowed to move if it's LoS on the target is blocked by a unit. Meaning even though it shouldn't be moving forward, because it's trying to get LoS on the target it does, and then moves in front of another unit which does the same. And they end up getting really close.
I know what you mean, and I thought that might be why they were still moving up - but I saw instances where they vision was not blocked by another one of their friends and they still moved up. The only time they would consistently not continue forward was when they were in an open field and about 50m from the enemy, which is really really close to move archers into. This goes back to my point about having to spend more time micromanaging them because they tend to get into trouble when you give them the attack commands :(
I will add my one problem with new update. I used companions in roles of medic, scout etc. But now they randomly stopped working as support and I often lose troops by party oversized because my MC didn't have such skills in government. It's a little bit annoying.
Oh you dying your current companions got de-leveled with the patch? So basically no grandfathered companions?
I am on console. They sent out a small update last week. Ever since my game crashes a lot more than it ever has. Especially at the end of battle screen at the end of sieges. The battle is done, you are victorious, however when I hit x to go to the next screen, nothing happens. Totally freezes and eventually crashes to Xbox home page.
Is the asari helmet with the full chainmail with the golden top on it in the game for console
I haven't crashed once on the new beta and over 20hours played honestly not once and it runs smooth good frame rate no big dips in frame , i haven't used any mods and did a clean install. I am get missing texture files. Weather runs smooth and the snow storms are amazing. I like new bold text really easy to read. The marriage offer is way better it tells you the age of the spose no more marring 50 years. The targeting for me are work better for me if they have to a unit in front of my target they fought them none of them have just ignored the bots hitting them. The cavalry can now hit and are good again. I have noticed my children aren't clones they all look different. I have notice clans dying a lot. I find in combat the blocking is an improvement i found the old patch a cake walk even on bannerlord setting it was so easy no challenge even from the start for people clamming i play on Bannerlord setting for combat like it was a messure of there skill was a bit of a joke .The new patch 1.2.0 at least they block and do it well if people don't like that play on veteran or lower . For me the patch as been a big positive. For me the patch is a positive.
Love the fact you can drain your vassals influence biggie for me
Just updated and have been crashing like crazy, I didnt have this problem before. what did they do?
How do you make the circle formation smaller/bigger?
I'm updating just for kingdom elimination, just bought the game few weeks ago and that's what I expected to happen when I got a kingdoms fiefs. To my surprise they kept running around causing me to go back to somewhere I was fed up with taking over and over. Don't want to do execute so rather have option for kingdom to fall. Pregnancy while moving is great to so I can continue my dynasty without waiting in town a year. I don't play with mods but if I ever do I'll just go back to older version if I have to. This update adds most of what I thought was needed while playing the game past few weeks.
flat vs forest may be due to the fact that chavalry is weak in the forest also woods get in the way of arrows, maybe that can be a feature, but i know it may not be necessarily the case
The only bannerlord channel I trust, well, apart from mine ofcourse! Love your insight on this, this patch definitely didn't "change everything" like some may depict it to. It's obvious that the department of bug testing the patches is lacking... But who needs paid bug testers if we exist! 🤣
How are you able to play with RTS camera? When I get it in my menu, it says it'll break the game.
I had to turn it off because it wasn't really working. I had it on for a couple hours, but you can't go into 3rd person mode or it crashes instantly.
@@Strat-Guides fantastic… none of the good mods are getting updated fast enough, if at all… Game is dead for me at this point. Until a major update. DLC level update.
Damn this made me sad:( I was so excited for the changes from this patch but it looks like im gonna be sticking to 1.1.0 for a little longer.
Its a shame cav is still so bad and inconsistent... Even worse they are not bad because they are countered by spear/pike inf but because their AI is bad and they keep making terrible decisions getting themselves killed also they are terrible at calculating range with their spears and struggle to kill even the enemies that are running away from the battlefield. I think the worst part is after a miss instead of trying to hit the enemy again like they did in warband they just ride off into the sunset and come back after a few minutes lol to strike again (and probably miss) I hate how they feel the need to aimlessly ride around before attacking the same peasant and missing 3 times in a row. I tried RBM but it seems to make cav AI even worse with exactly this kind of behaviour... The game is called MOUNT and blade but the mount part is so dissapointing sometimes:(
Thanks for the vid good coverage of the patch as always!
