I used a really large air compressor that had a regulator so I could control the PSI and although the air compressor had really high PSI capabilities I only set it at about at 45-50 PSI range for this project so I'll post a few below that would work if you wanted to airbrush like I did. YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN AIR COMPRESSOR TO USE AN AIRBRUSH AND IF YOU WANT TO AIRBRUSH FABRIC PAINTS IT NEEDS TO GO UP TO AT LEAST 45-50 PSI

Airbrush:
Although I bought 3 different airbrushes for this project, the one I listed below is the only one that worked the way its supposed to, Its small but durable and reliable and its not very expensive.

Paints:
For this project I used 10 Oz. of the tangerine, 3 oz of the yellow, 2 oz of the brown and a few drops of black and white

Oh wow …. Absolutely stunning 😍😍
Thanks for sharing this video, it's super helpful!
Thanks for this! I only have to ombre one tone and I wanted to see the coverage possible with the airbrush.
I hope your ombre turned out well!! I hope this video helped you!
Thanks for sharing this... I want to dip dye a wedding dress... I may end up doing this...
Did you set the paint by ironing? I was wondering how hot/what setting you used. Thanks
Very helpful, thanks for the info :D
Thank you, it helped me a lot
Wooow!!! Beautiful!! First of all, bravo for trying it yourself!! Second, thank you so much for making a video out of your experience and sharing it!! Really appreciated!! 🙏🏼🤗 Beautiful results indeed!!! You can be very proud!!! 😍😘
Oh, and a question for you; does the paint hold on well with washing? Have you tried washing it? I'd like to try on a project that would need washing, a performance costume! ;) Thank you very much for your answer. 🤗
I hand washed it in my bathtub once, and the paint definitely washed off a little bit but not too much, but enough that after that experience I decided that I would only spot clean the dress
@@AlexandriaLayne Thank you for your answer and your time. Did you use a process to fix the colour? Just to know if that might have been the missing step...? Thank you very much once again for your time! 🤗
@@MarieEveBisson I ended up spraying the dress again after I washed it just to re-establish the pigment and then I sprayed gold glitter spray all over it as well, I think the glitter spray helped seal in the color but I never washed it again after that 😅
@@AlexandriaLayne Thanks a lot for your answer once again! Really appreciated! 🤗
Thank you for this! I'll be airbrushing soon so this is really helpful. Are createx paints just in general multi-surface appropriate (just asking because I have bad experience with acrylics on fabric without medium of any sorts)?
I think createx paints are generally multi-surface appropriate, it definitely works on fabric, and I know it is marketed as more of a "hobby" Paint, so it works really well on model cars and airplanes, I got mine from their website, but I know hobby lobby carries createx paints as well, good luck!!!
Thanks for sharing!
I am going to be attempting something similar and was wondering which airbrush you bought. Amazon has so many options it’s making my head spin.
I got the masters touch from amazon but I don't recommend it, I ended up using like 5 different air brushes all from amazon for this project and they all broke after using them for a few hours. I would look into getting a good brand like Iwata or Pache talon, even though they are more expensive they will last longer and that is what I would do if I were to attempt a big project like this again!
do you think i can airbursh Vinyl with the same method and create a gradient on a piece who have to be stretch?
The fabric I used was stretchy and it has done well so far, maybe do a test piece and see how the vinyl reacts? Let me know if it works! Good luck!
How did you make the dress? Did you use a pattern?
What paint did you use ? Asking this before the video is over so this question may be answered
How does the fabric look when stretched?
For the most part it maintains the color, the bottom of the skirt doesn't need to stretch all that much it is virtually unaffected. However if I were to airbrush a body suit I think I would want to have the fabric stretched over something or someone, that way I wouldn't run the risk of it looking less opaque when the fabric DID stretch, I hope that makes sense
What paint did you use?
Glamformation Makeup By Jesse I used Createx pearlized airbrush colors! They are so great! There is a link in the description box for the website where I ordered them from!
Is the paint rly for fabrics?
the paint has many purposes, but it Does work on fabric!
How much paint did you use?
I used about 24 oz of orange, 12 oz of yellow and 8 oz of red
Is it washable?
you "can" wash it, but you deffinitly shouldn't, I rinsed mine in the bath tub and lost A LOT of the color. I had to re-spray it and it turned into a nightmare, I think just spot cleaning is all it can handle
Rebel Girls Cosplay When you wash it would you risk the color spreading around the fabric? Like staining the white parts?
