    Mine did this exact thing and I took it over to Carrier. I spoke with the technician directly and he said the sensor was bad so he replaced it along with the wire that attached to it. Been working fine ever since so far.

    The temperature sensor and several other issues can be caused by a bad ground. The temperature sensor is just a switch that opens at a designated temperature to interrupt a circuit by removing the ground. If you have a test light connect the clamp end to a 12 volt source and touch the probe end to the terminal on the temperature sensor. Your test light should be lit. If not make sure the sensor is grounded by touching the probe to the base of the sensor. If you don’t get light corrosion or too much thread sealer has insulated the sensor from ground. Attach a jumper wire to a good ground and clamp it to the base of the sensor and again check it with your test light or just start your apu and see if it runs.
    Just grounding the wire to the sensor will make it run but if it does overheat it won’t shut down….so don’t!

    Glad to see that you stressed not to over tighten the sensor. So many times the sensor would get replaced, over tightened, a week later the unit was back with the same issue. At that point the tech would call technical support, and he would talk to me.

      Low refrigerant. If the condenser hoses are not protected when routed into bunk, the body sheet metal will run/cut the hoses...I know. I just had this happen. Fortunately (4)hose clamps, a 3/8” barbed union and 4 cans of 134 got me going. I plan on pulling unit down to a vacuum and replacing the filter drier.

    Will the sensor cause to have main engine interlock?

    • @TheHitchiker42
      @TheHitchiker42 Před 3 lety

      If the DCP indicates Interlock, it means that either the interlock is wired in and the key is in the on position, which powers up the circuit to let the system know the main engine is running, or there is a fault in the harness, can't remember the pin number off hand.

    Where is the APU breaker located

    • @gradycothren2267
      @gradycothren2267 Před 3 lety

      If the display shows ccu main breaker trip or HVAC breaker trip, both of those can not be reset by hand. If you press clear/reset on panel, it will go away. If it keeps happening, the household power voltage (110-115V) could be too low to run your air conditioning compressor/microwave..etc. This is most often caused by faulty capacitor for apu generator located on rear panel inside apu under the radiator. It is a 40 microfarad capacitor. One way to check if it is bad, use a multimeter set to VOLTS A/C and test at power outlet with unit running. If 105 or below, it is weak and needs replaced. If doing it yourself, remove the bolts on lower cover (1/2 in.) Capacitor is a silver and black cylinder with 2 wires. Cut one at a time, never both together or electric shock could happen! Strip wires from apu back and install new capacitor with hardware it comes with (butt connectors to crimp on using crimper pliers with heat shrink and capacitor holder and nut.) Does not matter which wire you connect first and where, it is universal. Warm up the connectors with a lighter to shrink the connector wrap and zip tie the extra wires up to keep then off the exhaust. This should fix most instances for breaker reset but if not, theres trouble with the main board under the bunk or wiring to it. Test output voltage with unit on, should be in 115-120 volt range.hope this helps!

    I have the same problem of my unit shutting down for no apparent reason. In the picture next to the guys hand there is a little Red wire that comes forward and attaches to what looks like a small plug. That is a temperature sensor. Sometimes the wire becomes lose, and the unit will shut down. At some point I am going to get a new wire and sensor installed, but for now a really tight mini zip tie keeps it snug and the unit runs. I read somewhere that there was a recall on a Comfort Pro sensor, but every time I go into one of the Carrier shops they treat me like an idiot, charge me $ 200 , never tell me what they are doing except for that it is a lose wire and all is good now. Well it runs for a few days until the roads jar the wire lose again and the unit will only run for a few minutes or hours but always shuts down until I re secure that little Red wire. That is my experience and what I have done to resolve the issue.... G

      30-266-01K . That's a very common number for the Kubota Z482 used in the PC6000, PC6002, etc. Should be the same in all the models since the engine hasn't changed. To the best of my knowledge its a normal open (no continuity from the terminal to ground) and closes (grounds out and causes shut down) if temp reaches 245°F
