- Mel Brooks presents the 43rd AFI Life Achievement Award to Steve Martin.
The American Film Institute's Board of Trustees selected Steve Martin to receive the 43rd AFI Life Achievement Award, the highest honor for a career in film. The award was presented to Martin at a Gala Tribute on June 4, 2015 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Mel Brooks and Steve Martin are living legends. What a delight to see them! We don't have people like that anymore...
To receive an award like that would be amazing. To receive an intro from a legit King, an honor. 2 of the all time greats.
It's okay, Mel. Who isn't envious of Steve Martin? He is hilariously funny with a serious side among the best of actors.

I wonder if they came close. Like if Steve Martin was considered to play the lead in Brooks's DRACULA: DEAD AND LOVING IT, or something like that. Oh, and Steve did movies with Mel's colleague Carl Reiner, so there's that.

Steve is good... But he's not great! The reason is because he's got less personality and he's less vulnerable on-screen than other greats. I like him and I'm glad he's appreciated but only Mel Brooks could compare Steve Martin to Mel Brooks. 😅 Mel is really much better.
I don't know ,Martin looks pretty Jewish to me...😕😉
