An Introduction To The W Series [2019 Edition]

The W Series is the worlds first 'Female Only' racing championship that aims to get more women into the motor racing ladder.
In its inaugural season, the championship will race at 6 well known circuits using FIA F3 Regional machinery, making it effectively a F3 championship. Not only that, the cars are shared between all drivers, so after each event drivers will swap cars, engineers, and team personnel, so hopefully this puts away away any ideas of favouritism.
It has received criticism since its inception, including some from women already in the sport, but ultimately the season has already gotten underway, and the series itself will race out until the final round in August.

If the FIA really wanted to promote female racing drivers, they should encourage/let more of them into existing series or even the ladder that leads all the way up to F1, NOT trying to separate female drivers from the male ones. Rather ironically this series just undermines the very concept of sexual equality as it feels the need to separate the two sexes before one of them can compete.

1. It is not an FIA series so stop complaining about them
2. The FIA has no control as to what drivers the teams in the lower categories select to participate. The teams choose what drivers they want in their car
3. I agree that separating them isn’t the answer, but many of these drivers wouldn’t be in a car if it weren’t for this series.
Maybe next time do some reason instead of looking for a reason to hate the FIA, smh.
