This is the best review I have ever seen! I could have used something like this when I was searching for a dress for my daughters wedding. My favorite is the blue on you and the glow on your face in the gold is beautiful.

I love that shade of blue 💙🩵💙🩵Royal blue for the win! I think I would have liked it better if all the lace part was lined in the same colour as the build in bra - and would like all lined in nude - on camera it looks like the bra cups are white and it sort of highlights that area

I love JJs house - I ordered from them for formal night on a disney cruise, and literally everyone, from my family, other cruise guests and the cruise staff gasped and stopped me to tell me how stunning I looked 😍 I felt like such a princess!
After we got home, I happily donated my gown to goodwill because prom season was coming up, and I was hoping and praying a plus size student would fall in love and score a deal!
If I ever need a formal gown again, I'd 100% shop with them again!

It is kind of amazing, their goal is to ensure that every girl is beautifully dressed for their formals regardless of finances. They struggle with plus size dresses and have a need. I can't get over how reasonably priced these are to be custom fit and so well made.
They are atrociously priced. The days it would take to hand bead those dresses at that price point means sweatshop factory production. There's no way whatsoever that the employees (if even employed) were paid a fair living wage at that price point. Its not a reasonable price at all. Way way under what it should cost.
This video was so much fun! I felt like I was on a girls day out with you in the changing room, sipping on a glass of something fizzy. Your enjoyment of the dresses (the joy of them fitting!) is so infectious. The 'Belle' and 'Cinderella' dresses were my favourites, but the black was also gorgeous.

I was having these sent to me and was hesitant on the black because the model, albeit absolutely beautiful, did not showcase what the garment would look like on me. I’m 72…almost 73! I have loved watching these videos and think so much of what you order is “universal!l. It’s not just for the younger ones but not at all matronly…just such cute clothes and for all occasions! You look wonderful in everything and I love your enthusiasm. I’ve only been watching for a few days and can’t wait to investigate some of these sites.
You might be able to ask them to close the center front seam a couple inches higher if you feel that it's too low since part of the dress is customized.

Girl, that plum dress is killer. I can see you in another color, but the style is beautiful. The ruby is also lovely too. I loved that you put an underskirt on and it added some nice fullness. The slate blue is def a princess dress and I would love to see an underskirt with that one too.

Thank you so much! My contact there wrote me back twice- once to verify my height, and once to ask if I wanted additional length! I bought s designer wedding dress (years ago) and the sales lady convinced me that I did not need to pay for extra length- getting that dress altered was over $500 (back in 2005!!!). I think that the option to make to your measurements is huge if you aren’t a standard size. CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming wedding! I hope that you find the gown of your dreams!!

@@BigonStyle The price was about 1/5th what the comparable gowns I tried on were - but there was no way the boutique could have a gown shipped or tailored in time for my wedding that was 4 months off. JJ's House accepted measurements and had my gown tailored for 6' tall and typically US size 18, veil, and tiara shipped and at my house with 2 months to spare before the day. They were also where my bridesmaids (from different states) were able to choose similar gowns in the same color and fabric that were most flattering to their body types. I highly recommend anyone in the market for formal, bridal, or special occasion wear check them out.

Adult prom sounds way more fun than HS prom, probably because my husband is a built-in date 😂 (Didn't go to HS prom. Bought a prom dress, then went to a fancy dinner and chill night at a hotel with friends). .. Thank you for these hauls. If I someday have a fancy event to go to, I'll know where to look for dresses! ETA: With the red dress, on the model the bodice work looks more dense and more 3D-ish, which might be part of the disappointment, or would be if it was me, at least as far as the density goes.
Your prom sounds pretty phenomenal- I married the guy that I went to prom with (after college, dated forever) it was very nice, but I think it would be so much more fun as adults because we wouldn’t have to worry about everyone else! Dress up, have a great dinner, leave when we want to- only invite the nice people!

Oh no, CZcams is learning that my love of formal dresses is not exclusive to youtubers who look like me 😅The pure joy that radiates when someone wears a pretty thing, especially when it fits as nicely as these ones do, is infectious. Absolutely agree with your top pics. I would say the black is the most formal, the blue is the easiest to wear in a more casual setting, and the yellow would be beautiful to dress up for a Christmas or New Years party. I can see how the yellow might wash you out some in person, but that can be mitigated somewhat with makeup or completely ignored due to how freaking fun and pretty it is (it didn't actually look off on camera, to my eye, at least). I wish the sleeve fit better on the plum dress, it's a contender for the top slots otherwise, but just seems like it'd be too uncomfortable to put up with for a full event, digging into you even slightly. At least while you have all these other options, to be sure!

I like the blue the best. It's the most comfortable looking and while it has lovely embellishment it's still simple.

Oh my gosh.. I am a plus sized woman (that is also 6'1..sigh) that needs to get a dress to have for a formal event and this seems freaking perfect. I've never ever been able to find dresses that are long enough, maybe the custom sizing would help me.
I would look into them for sure- I am 3 inches shorter than you and always have trouble with length, so I am sure that the struggle is real!!
I entered my actual measurements (I watched a little video on their site and got my daughter to help- then I entered my actual height (70 inches) and asked them to add 2 inches when it asked for additional inches. I was worried, but I’m very happy that I added the length!
I was truly impressed by the quality of each piece, though I thought the neck was odd on the burgundy and the sleeve was a little too snug on the plum.
I would also recommend looking at the review pictures, I liked seeing how things translated to plus size- oh, and some of the dresses have plus size models, when you are looking at a dress, click the colors to change those, and click a larger size and if they have it in a plus size model, you will see her! I really hope it works for you! I was happy with the dresses and all of my interactions with the company. Holler if you have any questions!

I loved that you could have it made to order and since I was doing an afternoon "tea" type of wedding I had it shortened to tea length too. Anyway. Love your channel and your hauls!

I looked at JJ’s House when I was looking for an outfit for my nephew’s wedding, but I didn’t have quite enough time to do the order-try-return-reorder routine to figure out the quirks of their sizing before the wedding, but I will say that of all the places I looked they had probably the largest variety of not trashy, not garbage sack looking plus dresses for more formal occasions that I saw

Tie for first place: the Grape (Plum) and the Golde. I know you thought the grape one was too mother of the bride, too mature but it is so elegant. The gold one was surprisingly flattering on you! We got all the bridesmaid dresses, the two mothers’ dresses and two others from JJ’sHouse. Brilliant!!
I love the last dress you tried on. You could easily add more of the mesh to raise the exposure and to help bring in the sides of the bodice so that you don't feel like you're falling out and the straps would stay on your shoulders better. A good seamstress could also add some of the skintone mesh to the back to make you feel less exposed and to keep the straps in place. Next was the black dress. Then the plum one with a couple of modifications to fix the sleeves and the slit which is to high. The weird train piece of fabric could be used to fix both issues. Then we have the blue and the yellow dresses. I really don't like the yellow color, but the style is nice. The red dress needs a new bodice because the rest is pretty.
These all fit so well, the custom sizing seems like such a great resource! I think the last dress is my favorite. Sooo pretty!

I'm not plus sized but I love this video because it really shows that measurements in making a dress are everything. These all fit you wonderfully and you look amazing. It's great that this company does custom sizing because that is so essential in making a dress that compliments the person
The red one was outstanding. The fabric is smoothing and really rich looking. The dress on you has an empire waist look, which I love. Oh please, love the red one!!💖
I always wonder about these sites and not had much luck in some places I’ve ordered from (nasty thin polyester) so I’m pleasantly surprised by these. Custom sizing for only a little extra is great and they all fit you really well. my favourites were the royal blue, then plum - these two were way out ahead of the others - then black (if it had no slit), then red, blue and least favourite was yellow/gold.
I was so impressed, and after they reached out to me, I read a lot of negative things online about them which really had me worried! I have had at least 15 people comment that they have ordered from them and had a good experience- now, one person said that they had a bad experience! I like hearing from people who ordered organically, because I never know if they are going to send the ‘good stuff’ to people who promoting it, you know. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!
You might also be able to request the side slit to stop just above the knee.
I thought the purple dress looked absolutely amazing on you, but totally understand why you had that as a no. I'd probably not choose it either. But the black and gold dresses... OMG, You were more than beautiful in them. You were glowing. I would love to have either of them, but would probably do black for both. I would be most comfortable in black. Maybe navy. You had me all daydreamy watching this video. I have always wanted a beautiful fancy dress. One that was in my size and still elegant.

JJs House is AMAZING! I bought my senior prom dress from them back in 2013, the quality of the dress FLOORED me! We also got all my bridesmaid's dresses from them for our wedding, again they were fantastic dresses. They also ship super fast in my experience.

I have my wedding dress from them. Because i like to wear 40's and 50's inspired clothing there would not be so much choice in the wedding boutiques anyway and i wanted teal length. I ordered with my exact messurements and 8 weeks later i recieved my dress. To be honest the package looked so small that i didn't think my dress was in there but it was better then i expected and it fit me (back in 2019 😜). I loved it so i can recomend it to every one.

The black dress is gorgeous!:)) Plum dress suits you so well! The applique has a really good position and shape! I love how giggly she got trying on the first gown especially. She really seemed happy with the way it fit and how it made her feel. NO matter what size you are or what the style of the outfit, this is how you should feel when you try on your clothes. That made me feel so happy for her.

I TOTALLY resonate with what you were saying about your wedding dress. I live in China and I was my sister's Maid of Honor. She bought the biggest size of my dress for me over a year before her wedding because they were discontinuing it and we needed to make sure I could match the bridesmaids. I believe the dress was about $180 and I remember that the alterations needed to size it down to me were about $150! I was so mad at that wasted money! I gave her my measurements which did recommend a different size but we were worried because so many designers/ dress collections run small...this one didn't.

I am not plus size, but I am really happy to see that there are such gorgeous and well fitting dresses for voluptuous women. You looked wonderful in all of them. I hope you will have opportunities to wear them somewhere.
I used JJ's' House for my Son's wedding for my dress & my Daughter & Granddaughter's Bridesmaid dresses. They were all beautiful & made wonderfully. I always read the comments on the dresses. I recommend the company to anyone.
The cut of the gold dress is AMAZING for your figure! It is so flattering. I do understand what you mean about the colour. I know you have it in last, and again I understand why, but the cut of the purple dress was also really flattering. They're all beautiful and you are beautiful in them. Anything we can twirl in and have fund in, is fantastic!

All the dresses were gorgeous but my favourite on you was the dark blue with the white background - stunning.
I also have to mention your dog. At the beginning of the video, he/she would come prancing into the room, looking excited and perky. By the end, he/she had obviously given up and was lying on the floor, clearly over it all - so cute!

Congratulations on your wedding, Amanda!!! I really appreciated the quality of the dresses. I am pretty sure that they have a gown rental program so that you can get several in for $10 (I think that is the price, don’t hold me to it!) you can get several in to see what you like, return the others and I think that the rental fee goes toward the gown you choose. In all honesty, I would have been happy with any of these dresses, but I did have favorites!
The last one is definitely my favorite. That French Blue is a beautiful color on you.

I got my wedding dress from jj house. I got it custom sized to my measurements, and it was perfect. I got so many compliments on the day and no one could believe it cost under $500. Would definately buy from there fir next occasion dress.
I had a dress made for me 3 yrs ago for my sons wedding I was STUNNED at how well made and how well it fit me for my measurements!!!
I bought my mother of the groom dress from them - it was a fantastic dress. Fit perfectly. Made well. I'd highly recommend them. The thing I really like is that you can rent dresses for a week in your size to test the fit.
That is so awesome to hear- I think it is so great for everyone to hear about real experiences with JJs. I had someone else say that they rented dresses for their wedding and it really helped them choose the perfect dress!

Beautiful gowns. Personally, I believe the gold one was the most flattering. All were pretty!
The dresses were better than I thought, given the modest prices, and the fit was reasonably good. My favourite was the yellow (gold in the illustration). I probably would have gone for black since it's my favourite colour.
