Having a father that was primarily a city manager but was often confused as a mayor, this is the best explanation I’ve come across

So what does the mayor even do besides vote on city manager? Seems like he'd just be a figure head with the city manager running the show

@أحمد مصطفى President is both head of state and the government. Get that European logic out of here, a president is not similar to a monarch. The queen is just an overrated celebrity like the weak "mayor", while the president is the actual boss and leader like the strong mayor

@أحمد مصطفى Ok, your point? It's literally in the name. President. A monarch on the other hand is in a parliamentary system because monarchy as an idea is long since obsolete.

This makes sense in theory, but unfortunately all it does is makes more bureaucracy... The last thing you want to do is make more government... Even small government.

Yeah, a corrupt strong council is way worse than a corrupt strong mayor.
