I remeber Casey Cason doing the top 100 songs all time on New Years Eve. Freebird was 2nd and Stairway to Heaven 1st. I love Zepplin, but Skynyrd has been my favorite since I was 6 yrs. Old. I was hoping just 1 year Freebird would win lol. Two Awsome songs and two Iconic Bands.
I'm 58 years old and I can't tell you how happy it makes me to know you are listening to the music of my childhood. Check out Earth Wind and Fire, Fantasy. Incredible piece.
That’s just wrong. With very few exceptions, a live performance is only good if you happened to be there in that moment. Besides the issue of being able to record a live performance with anything like fidelity, in this particular performance, Jimmy was obviously drunk and not playing very well. That solo sucked by comparison to the studio version, which he labored over for many days to achieve perfection.
The sound you hear in the beginning is a recorder you know the little flute thing kids learn in elementary school I had to laugh when you started dancing. Welcome to the club young brother.
I’m glad you are enjoying this absolutely greatest band ever, it’s hard to pick songs for you, because they all are so great. We all have different top 10 songs, the majority of their songs can be in everyone’s top 10. Your favorite, is the song you’re listening to at the time. Their live performances, usefully have longer solos, & or Plant adds to the vocals. Madison Square Gardens (1973) is great for many of the lives. My favorite live is from that concert, Since I’ve Been Loving you, excellent soulful blues, the passion is amazing. Though anything you chose to try will, add to your being a Led Zeppelin fan
That "sound" you hear is a guitar. As far as sampling goes, many many rappers have sampled LZ. I'm not into rap but I know Puff Daddy or whatever he's calling himself these days has sampled from their song Kashmir. LZ was the biggest band in the world. When their drummer died in 1980, they broke up. All four of these guys are the goats. They had a one time reunion in 2007. The drummer's son, Jason played on his dad's drum kit. There were 20 million requests for tickets from around the world for only 18,000 seats. You won't find a bad song. They do it all, especially blues. If you stick with LZ I guarantee you'll see your subs and comments skyrocket.
Ditto: Madison Square Garden NYC 1973-that’s the one u need to watch!! LIVE next of STAIR WAY TO HEAVEN .tHEN check out BLACK DOG and OVER THE HILLS FAR AWAY and RAMBLE ON by Led Zepplien
There's a video on YT where Jimmy explains his concept in the music writing (Robert did lyrics) if I remember correctly he said it's supposed to keep unfolding. Great video see if you can find it.
Oh goodness-Madison Square Garden 1973-that’s the one u need to watch!! B prepared to watch greatness kiddo!!🙂And after that u HAVE to PLEASE watch The Kennedy Center Honors-the Wilson sisters tribute performance to them is freaking awesome!!🙂
This is a song that takes you on a journey. You can close your eyes, listen and it takes you wherever your imagination takes you. Some music tells a story or makes you feel a certain way but great music like this just lets you feel what you feel but it makes a lot of people feel something special.
One of the most, if not the most, sampled Led Zeppelin songs is "When the Levee Breaks," a remake of an old country blues song. It's about the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, the worst in American history. This flood was one of the reasons African-Americans left the South during the Great Migration.
Now you know a little of what music my generation grew up on..And we went to there concerts! I lived near Oakland at the time and Billy Graham presents, set up concerts at Oakland Stadium, called "day on the green"..There would be 2 or bands that played! It was an amazing Experience! Led Zeppelin is by far the best rock band, ever..
So many have sampled Zeppelin...why wouldnt they? They had the greatest riffs and music ever! The flute-like sound is a recorder played by JPJ. In concert he uses keyboards!
Here's the mind bender.. I think this song was released in 1970 or 71. Top of the billboards at that time were bands like The Temptations, the Bee Gees, the Rolling Stones. I would say Led Zeppelin were way ahead of their time. Insane talent. As others have said, keep going.
Led Zeppelin was an amazingly talented band. I’m glad you liked this song. It’s a true classic. Check out the studio version of Zeppelin’s song, Kashmir.
Thanks . I love Zeppelin, and made me happy see young people enjoy with they. In live this versión is more longue, the solo guitar is even better, and his magic. MSG was the best concert in the history of>Zeppelin
You'd likely really enjoy watching them perform this during their 1973 Madison Square Garden concert. It's one of my favorite versions. Page played 3 guitars when they recorded this song - two acoustics (a 6-string and a 12-string) and an electric. In order to replicate that as best he could during live performances, he had a double-neck guitar made for him - 12 strings on top, 6 on bottom. He was the only guitarist in the band so had to perform all the functions of a guitarist himself - enhancing melodies with harmonies, providing rhythmic foundations (together with the bass and drum players), adding texture and dynamics to the music, performing solos, which are fundamental to rock music. Since he couldn't switch back and forth between guitars so easily in the middle of a song when performing live, the double-neck really was occasionally a necessity for him. Do give the live performance a listen. I think you'd really enjoy it.
This is what is called a build…..serene start…..some rhythm guitar……….now add bass and keys……. then the thunder. They sat out the greatest drummer ever for about 4 mins.
The next band for you to check out is Rush. First song- Spirit of the Radio. Or 2112. 2112 is is whole first side of the album. Long but so worth it. Its amazing.
Yo may want to see the live version from MSG 1971. The whole concert is stellar. I saw them at least 8 times. I am 72 and only a Metallica show comes close. Remember there is no auto tune back then . Live was Live. Enjoy the ride listening to the best hard rock group ever.
The flute sounds that you heard were made on an instrument called a Mellotron. It uses tape to make other instruments sounds. It can also famously be heard at the beginning of The Beatles song Strawberry Fields Forever.
LED ZEPPELAN ARE THE GODS OF ROCK AND ROLL. HANG ON TO YOUR SEAT, WELCOME TO THE RABBIT HOLE, ITS A JOURNEY TO THE HIGHEST OF WHAT YOU CAN EVER IMAGINE.☘️🎶🎧🔥💃💃ENJOY. THESE GUYS WERE YOUR AGE MAKING THIS GREAT MUSIC💃💃☘️🎶
I just discovered you! The instrument sound you heard was the electric guitar overlaid on top of an acoustic guitar. Jimmy Page was the bands guitarist and producer. So glad you did the studio version. The live version is cool, but the studio version is perfection! Led Zeppelin would go off into long improvised jams when performing live, often changing the songs from night to night, and if you're not into long improvised jams, then the studio versions are definitely the way to go. The studio recordings will give you a truer understanding of the songs, plus, the studio recordings just sounds so much better than the live versions. Like you did with this one, I think you should do the studio version of the song "Since I've Been Loving You" off of the album Led Zeppelin III. Again, I would stick with the studio versions, especially for the first listen of a song. Another option is to do their entire catalogue. A lot of reactors have done that. If that's what you want to do, I would start with the first album, "Led Zeppelin I" and go in chronological order until their last official studio album, "CODA". Either way, I'm looking forward to more reactions to studio recordings of Led Zeppelin. I subscribed! Peace

You know man, it's actually nice to see a youngest enjoy what we did back in the day when it was released. Many of the younger gens dont understand what we got to live through in the music era back in the 60's 70's and 80's we got to see it all.
BRO ty for your vids!! led zeppelin rocked my teenage yrs!!!!!!!!! ALSO..............u wanna see the BEST guitar solo EVER!! EDDIE VAN HALEN ERUPTION LIVE WITH SAMMY HAGAR!!!!!!!!
You have to watch the Madison Square Garden 1973 video. You will see the double neck Jimmy plays. Stairway is the most played and #1 song ever. If you do Metallica do Enter Sandman. Watch the video for Led Zeppelin, Kashmir.
I have to say I always see Madison Square Garden 1973 but I've always personally enjoyed Earls Court 1975 even more. Now that being said Zeppelin is amazing and each version is unique and equally as amazing. Also for more Zeppelin influenced fun check out the movie Almost Famous (The Bootleg) or directors cut if possible!! Its based I'd say pretty loosely on Cameron Crowes own experience touring with Led Zeppelin!
You paused right in the middle of one of (imo) the most impactful lines of the song. “Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on”.
Always listen to the studio version of Led Zep songs. Hear it as it was intended. Then listen to live versions later if you are interested. This is especially true for 'Since I've been loving you'. Studio first. Zep heads will try to push live versions, but they have heard the original thousands of times. Don't miss out on the magic of one of the greatest studio musicians ever. Jimmy page is good in live but much better as a studio guitarist. If you want the best guitarist who does live versions, go with Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Congratulations, you’ve just listened to one of the greatest rock songs of all time. Keep going!
Indeed, keep going!
There’s no turning back now 😔
yup..time to go down the rabbit hole....
The greatest of all time

I'm 40 and I'm so grateful my parents brought me up on this music. This will forever be my favorite song
You’ve just listened to arguably the greatest rock song of all time!
Led Zeppelin's music are all different from one another, they are extremely versatile! That is why they are one of the best bands in the world
best band ever and 1 of the best songs ever written by anybody EVER!!!
I'm 58 years old and I can't tell you how happy it makes me to know you are listening to the music of my childhood. Check out Earth Wind and Fire, Fantasy. Incredible piece.
Same, lol, I remember being little and my Dad playing this record
Led Zeppelin is the most sampled band in hip-hop.
Bonzo baby!
If you liked Jimmy's guitar solo in the studio version, the live version at Madison Square Garden, 1973, is a must see!!😊
Agreed. Definite MUST SEE
I honestly thought he’d do the live version. No compassion.
That's the one where he fumbles the guitar solo.
I'll add that the live is a must watch
That’s just wrong. With very few exceptions, a live performance is only good if you happened to be there in that moment. Just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Zeppelin greatness, my friend. It is worth your time to listen to every note they recorded.
MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
100% correct
@@dbn52 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The sound you hear in the beginning is a recorder you know the little flute thing kids learn in elementary school
I had to laugh when you started dancing. Welcome to the club young brother.
Lol man that took me back to dipping them in the buckets of soap and all that to clean them. Good stuff
I work at an elementary school and I just want one time for a kid to start playing this song on their recorder when I see them with one lmao

Led Zeppelin, Since I Been Loving You. Amazing song.

As incredible as this track is its also 1 of those songs That gets better and better the more times you listen to it
You paused right in the middle of one of (imo) the most impactful lines of the song.

Try Deep Purple, "Child in Time" live -- one of the most reacted to songs on CZcams. They started at the same time as Led Zeppelin, both in England.
