  • Britain's longest canal tunnel, built in 1811, restored for boat trips, plus cafe and exhibition.
At the Standedge crossing between Marsden in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, and Diggle in Oldham.
Three and a quarter miles long with about two hours to travel through.
This trip goes to the waterfall about 500 meters into the tunnel from Standedge. The trip takes half an hour, 15 mins in and 15 mins out.
Next year they plan to offer trips all the way through.

You have been busy with your Christmas filming. I've filmed quite a bit about Standedge Canal and Tunnel. I've never sailed along the canal on a tunnel boat yet!. Do you use drone filming for those high shots? Nice to hear your cheerful light flute music. You have good music variations.

My missus Jeanie has claustrophobia so she did well to go into the tunnel, we had only intended to walk around the area. Yes I had a play with my little drone after the trip, thankfully it pretty much flies itself and even comes back home and lands itself, otherwise I would definitely crash it!
