Hey doc out of the blue I got a a urine infection! I haven’t had for 20 years I’m diabetic I treat with meds. So it was hurting when I urinate plus blood in my urine. I’m 50 haven’t had my period for 15 plus years. I’m going to see my GP today get me some meds you put on this video. Thanks

While I was in Columbia I was given the one package dose that you mix in the water but I feel like it has not cleared up would it be okay for me to then take macrobid instead? Also what strength and dosage is required for macrobid?

I took Teva Lexin 5 years ago and the pain and discomfort stopped before I got out of emergency..this year they gave me the first one you talked about..it didn't work for a week and then still felt like there wasn't something quite right..and when I read about it ,it had all kinds of side effects that could of happened..i was lucky...it just didn't work for me for a week...my doc said she didn't want to give me the same one ,your body gets used to them but it had been 5 years and knowing what I know now ,I should of got down on my knees and begged her to give me Teva Lexin.

i had fever for 20 days where i was on liquid diet because doctor recommended me to..
after when i recovered when i use to pee it use to burn in the end and few drops of blood would come out i visited Doctor he said its happening because of heat and dehydration you had because of fever then he gave me an injection and some tablets after that the blood stopped coming...but now while urinating it still just burns and then i feel okay...

The doctor gave me sulfathoxazole. He said I probably got the infection while in the hospital. I don't have any uncomfortable or burning when I urinate. Is that a key factor?
Bactrim is a broad use antibiotic. It can be used for other infections in addition to UTI. You can still have a UTI without pain or feeling uncomfortable while urinating.

I am honestly mad we cant buy medication we need over the counter without a doctor. I have a reoccuring UTI problem once a year, I do not wish to visit a doctor for a prescription when I know what I need. I am very frustrated I cannot afford health insurance to even see a doctor, troubling times.
I am sorry you are dealing with a reoccurring UTI. I know it must be frustrating to constantly need a prescription to get a medication, but it is important to keep in mind that the human body is dynamic and many factors can change. A doctor would need to reevaluate the situation each time to give the best possible care/treatment. For example, what if constantly taking the same antibiotic over and over for a UTI causes antibiotic resistance? That might create a bigger problem, which is why the barrier to prescription medications are created. Hope that helps and hope you see a doctor to talk about a more long term solution for your UTI. Try subscribing to good rx or just going on their website. Avoid doctor visit and get antibiotics. There are others as well but i used good rx.

@@wanjirumiringu ~ Well this could happen. When I used the one antibiotic with a brand name of Macrobid I always had a 104° fever. When I stopped it , fever gone. Start again 104° fever back again, stop again fever goes away. It was a side effect on the printout included with the medication.
I certainly would not mix meds.

I'm pre-diabetic with reoccurring uti's what is a safe medicine or supplement i can take to stop or prevent them?
Sometimes I have seen doctors prescribe macrodantin/macrobid for prevention of a UTI. With supplements it’s a little bit tricky cause the data isn’t that consistent but people like using cranberry supplements as a form of prevention.

Can I ask a question about my uti.The doctor consulted me and they said i have uti then i take ciprofloxacin 2 times a day then their are a huge side effecf in body its painful in my back and their is something in my body inflammating then after 5 days i was not able to complete the course because i going to consult again in my doctor what happen so they ultra sound me then urine test again and thier is no problem in urine test and ultra sound but after one day my pee feels like burning again what will i do.
Did they check your kidneys? Usually the antibiotics treat the UTI unless the bacteria is resistant to the antibiotics.
Is there any screen test for cystitis or is it possible to have surgery? I have it for more than two years. I have tried three different antibiotics, but they didn’t works for me. Any advice please. Thanks
They can try to run a culture and susceptibility report and see what type of infection it is before giving an antibiotic. It regards to surgery, I am not a surgeon so I would not know specifically.

Hello, you said you’re taking levofloxacin every 5 hours? If so that is a very high frequency. Usually it’s taken once daily. Did your doctor prescribe that?

I’ve been on Cipro for an Ecoli infection for 3 days and I feel a little better but I’m still having where I feel I have to pee on and off. How long does it take to feel better while taking medication? I haven’t taken azo but I’m on a 10 day round of cipro.

Usually symptoms should have resolved by then. The the culture and susceptibility report show that E.coli is susceptible to Cipro?

Depends on which antibiotic, but usually in a few days you feel some relief. If you are currently taking an antibiotic for UTI, you can also take AZO to manage the pain while urinating.
Do they prescribe azithromycin for urethritis? In my culture and usg there was nothing and azithromycin was prescribed for 5 days and i took it but the sumptm hasn't subsided yet does it take time?

Are you referring to pulmonary disease caused by nitrofurantoin? If so it is extremely rare, but yes it can happen. Do you have preexisting lung conditions?

Before treating it, it needs to be diagnosed. There can be many reasons why there is smelly discharge.

Sulfamthe-trimeth 200/40 first dose woke up middle of the night with a headache (twice daily 20 ML) - I haven’t taken my next dose papers say possible side effects to call doc - headache? It depends on your prescription directions, but Cipro is usually dosed twice daily. So most ideal is every 12 hours. Also it is recommended to have plenty of water with Cipro. What bad things have you heard from Cipro?

I have to say,that new antibiotics not effective like previous generations had a treatments more effective with a simple Levomicetyn,Streptocyde,Biseptol,..etc , you can't find it in a Chemists anymore, it was really good,quick with a 100% effect

Enterococcus bacteria using nitrofurantoin but still no use .it is sensitive also 😮.

Levofloxacin is also used for UTI, especially if other antibiotics are not effective.

I would say finish the course of antibiotics and see if there are any improvements. If not, then maybe there is another condition that is not diagnosed.

@@pharmedgy Missing the fiagnosis. That is always a fear of mine. Because I went to an eye doctor last week and said my eyeball was painful in the middle of the eyeball. He did all the usual eye exams and reading charts for eyeglasses. He found nothing. Said I could use dry eye drops. (They only burned. ) He said I could have steroid something. But I said no. He never diagnosed a problem.. so why steroids?? He said you are fine. Why then does my eyeball still hurt? Shouldn't he have either found why it hurts or sent me to someone who could help me. As another problem I have a bladder infection. I don't need eye pain too. And, I am getting Electron Beam radiation on my leg too. When it rains, it pours. 🥴

Could all this be from the lead eye protection they put on my eyes during Electron Beam radiation OR couldn't be something as simple as a burst eye vessel from straining from constipation.

Yes, they call this “flank pain” which is typical symptom of a UTI. Definitely get it checked out and maybe ask the doctor to do a culture to see if the bacteria is resistant to certain antibiotics so they prescribe you one that’s worksz

That medication is not commonly used in UTI unless it is very severe/resistant. Has he tried other antibiotics?

From my knowledge, a UTI in a male does not typically affect fertility, but I would recommend asking your doctor for more of a specific answer.
