I want to thank you! your vlogs helped me convince my 75 year old Dad that we can have a garden, using raised beds. We had the traditional plowed, work intensive gardens, when I was young. Because of the building my father put on the property, he was convinced that a garden just wasn't an option. I showed him just 2 of your vlogs, and I saw his eyes light up with possibilities. He can sit on the edge of the raised bed and work in a garden!!! We have begun to talk about when was a little boy, again. How his family farmed to provide food, and raising animals for food. My Dad is excited about this coming spring, so we can plant. We are taking this time to build and set up our beds. We are also researching Heirloom seeds that will do well, in central Georgia. Daddy really likes the idea of using the cattle panels, as trellises for beans, cucumbers and even melons. You have been a positive influence on my family. My 3 year old grandson wants to help make our food grow. What a great bonding and learning experience, for all three generations. Thank you for all efforts to share the blessings of your family and farm!
I am getting back into gardening after 20 years of working my husband's sickness kept me busy. I have been watching you and just live the way you explain things. I had forgotten so much, you have been a great help my garden is doing well. Well I until that storm came through. I am busy replanting now, something I have never done before watching you play and grow. Thank you
Not me re-watching old seed hauls trying to get my fix. I’m a mere few days away from planting out and already thinking about fall and next years garden! Ben is just so dang little here. Talk about an absolute throwback! ❤❤❤ hello from the future Ben and Jess 👋. Shh 🤫 just a little reminder that all your dreams do come true!
I live in Croatia, near Italy, and these kinds of packages are always available here, especially in the sowing season. It's really nice to see those varieties "across the pond" 💚
I remember getting a stack of free seeds from Farmer D Organics in Atl Ga when they were closing their garden section completely down from being a decade customer....well, the next season when I went through the seed packets I noticed really beautifully detailed seed packets.....they were Hudson Valley Seeds....truly incredible the work that was put into something most ppl discard... Kool I get to see the guy that created them!!!
Omg the seed bank !!! My gardening mouth was drooling over all of these seeds just imagining the possibilities. Wow can u imagine how many people we can feed just by growing all of the seeds that were in th store when u visited them ????? I wish I will get to visit this store one day xoxoxoxx thanks for taking us along ur interesting trip
I had to pause at 17:44 to say I got the small white Japanese turnip at our farmers market and it was awesome and sweet. I had issues finding it but got the seeds to plant but our spring was horrible and I had a stroke in Sept so my fall garden never happened. I will be growing those this spring. You can eat them without peeling them which for turnip is unheard of. These will make you love turnips if you don't already. I had to get there early before they sold out because they went fast! I look forward to seeing them grow for you! 💝
I just love seeds I guess you could call me a seed addict. Love yalls channel y’all made want to start gardening and I’m only 14 15 in less than a month :)
I just came across your channel and have been binge watching all your vlogs. This blew my mind because, just yesterday, I ordered seeds from this company, as I live in the Hudson Valley! How amazing is your channel! You have so much knowledge to share, it is wonderful to hear to speak so passionately about something I have wanted my whole life.
I just love how excited you get over the seeds and the endless wonder of how they might grow and bless your garden. I do the same thing. My wife keeps telling me I have too many seeds! But you can NEVER have too many! :)
I love Hudson Valley Seed Co! I've planted seeds from them over the years and they have always done really well! Your selections are 😍😍!! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity of meeting you this week! Your speech spoke right to my heart! ❤
I love Franchi seeds, there is a small company in Sweden that imports them here. I love how much seed you get in a bag. They are not extremly unusual, but very focused on the italian cuisine. (Btw, I love that you're doing seedshoping in camera! I wouldn't dare and I would probably by half the tore!)
I am addicted to your channel and love your passion for gardening. Sadly we now have a very small garden and I dream about a large vegetable garden and lots of flowers. You are so lucky to live your lifestyle and have such a beautiful family. Love and best wishes from the UK 💕
I was hoping you would get some ancient watermellon seeds. I see. Doug and Stacy doing a taste test. Cool looking mellon. Going to see if I can find them on line for next yr. U love that you showed us your seed haul. I am trying to get my house painted and all I really want to do is play in the garden lol. Hugs
I am a seed hoarder, too, lol. I haven't been able to have a bug garden for the last 5 years thanks to Army housing. We are buying 16 acres and my husband is already afraid of my seed collection. I have so many catalogs ordered, hahaha. Glad I'm not alone.
Nice haul! At $2 a pack for Baker Creek Seeds, I'm not sure if I could've shown as much restraint. The Hudson Valley Seed packets are so pretty. Love the concept of the art matching rhe seed's story.
thanks jesss... makes me feel like we're there.......plus turning us on to new companies........ definitely ordering from Hudson valley and Bakers creek
So glad your back we all missed you. But we know you had an awesome time! Your videos from there are so informative to us about different seeds and companys. Thank you Jess for all the work you put into all this. Thank you for my tank top I received it last week. I love it!
Thank you so much for taking us along. So much fun. So exciting and inspirational. And, love all these new resources. Next stop: shopping at the above. You're so awesome organically, creatively, and inspirationally. Love this series.
Oh noooooooo! When you said seeds, I was thinking "this is NOT going to end well ...... back away from the seeds !!!!!" You know you have an addiction ...... what were you thinking????? Wait... what? Did you think I was talking about you? ~8^) Take care.
I absolutely love your channel. I also watched your video from the recent expo. I seen your visit to The Rhodes and Art & Bre. Your all so lucky to have each other. Such an inspiration for those of us that are wanting to get into homesteading. Your channel has made me consider moving to the Ozarks instead of the Tenn./NC area.
I just saw your video on your shopping trip last year to the BC heirloom expo. In it you said something to the effect on not finishing much use for the tiny tomatoes...can I make a suggestion? Make a breakfast scramble. Eggs, onions, peppers, ham or bacon, diced or sliced grape or small tomatoes and some shredded cheese. The tomatoes in there really kick it up a notch.
Awesome haul! I love love love your enthusiasm - your vlogs are my daily pick-me-up-mommy-me-time because you're so incredibly positive but realistic. A big thank you for sharing!
The absolute best tasting snap pea is Amish snap peas, that I originally got at SSE. it requires an 8 ft trellis and it is also monstrously productive.
I like to see somebody get's excited about seed as you do. I just got a big package of Weck jars and was instantly in heaven, people which are not gardener will never understand why we are so happy to buy stuff like seeds, jars, plant etc. Have a good time and stay safe. Big hug from Switzerland. Tamara
So funny every time I’m blessed to travel with my husband for work I always end up going to the local goodwill or shop like it and buy a old bag / suitcase and bring back seeds garden goods stuff like that lol it’s cheaper then mailing stuff and when Home I just donate bag back to goodwill 😉 thanks for sharing loved it💕
You have me so excited for the spring. I can't wait to start planting. I'm also going to try that container garden that you showed couple weeks ago I think. You are as sweet as pie. Bless you as well
Seeds carry the history of our world. Love the stories behind seeds. And Franchi seeds are wonderful!!!!! You must try their Italian pole beans: we grow Miracle of Venice and Supermarconi. Franchi is the oldest family run seed company in Italy- they've been in business for centuries!! Love the episode, especially as I am a fellow seed hoarder. : )) Blessings for you and your beautiful family.
Roots and Refuge Farm , if you would like to actually see our garden, we grow lots of variety too, our garden was videotaped for another CZcams channel. My husband and I both have physical limitations and a very limited income, but still have over 4, 000 square feet of garden. It's available on Late Bloomer channel, Angie's Heritage Garden. We do not have a channel ourselves, lol. Love your channel, lots of great info and inspiration!!!
Looks like an awesome trip! I've never grown wheat but I have been considering putting in a "chicken garden" to grow goodies specifically for chickens to supplement their diets
Great video from another seed collector, and thank you for the introduction to Hudson Valley and Redwood, they are companies I wasn't aware of, so will definitely check them out.
I'm from the Hudson Valley and live in the same town as the HV Seed co Accord NY. I encourage people to come check it out. We are a huge farm community out here
I just got my first seed order today and i am so excited! right now we are only able to grow in containers because we are on a house hunt as first time home owner at 61. thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. we really enjoy your family and your posts.
Who would ever thought, seeds, collecting, selling was a big program. How in the world are you going to have enough time to start, plant all those seeds, can't wait for all the videos.
Wow! So glad you got to experience the Expo! What a great adventure! Shhhheeeesh, I thought I had the tomato thing bad.....180 varieties! I will say that Paul Robeson (seed from Baker Creek) was probably the star of our tomato garden this year. Excellent taste, resistant variety, well formed, all around winner! I understand the cult following now. I make some interesting collages with seed packets and catalog covers. Big and colorful. They decorate our cabin and the homes of some friends. Good luck with the fall garden, I'll be watching.
Ben, he makes me smile every time I see him. He is so adorable and sweet. How long can seeds keep and how do you keep them? We have bought seeds from a local store and some online. They're not heirloom hubby was a farm boy and things are done the row crop way. He wants me to just buy new seeds every yr which kills me. I'm trying to win him over to different less intensive methods. How do you test your seeds. We have a decent growing season zone 5a.
Oh my word, I wish we had something like that here in South Africa. I buy tons of seeds every year, I'm hooked, but I'd be in heaven there!!! I can't wait to see your next summer garden!
Beautiful seed packets, can’t wait to see how beautiful the plants are. My grandsons helped me pick some Roma 11 beans today. We have only a few plants, but I must say... I will be planting these again! First time ever trying them and the plants are very healthy and loaded with beans. Checking them every day until I have enough for a big batch to cook! Also first time ever to try a second planting. I’m loving it! Thanks for the inspiration Jess!
Love it! Your energy is inspiring! Glad you enjoyed California, you sure packed a lot into your visit! Lots of great info as usual. Question about your seed collection; can you talk about expiration? Looking forward to your next garden tour!
Appreciated the tour .. I have ordered from this company. Will wait for spring to plant my seedlings, will grow whatever I can now, lettuce in my area.. Beginner 101
I just bough that same brand of zuchetta and peas. I'll keep an eye out for how they look in your garden. Right now I'm waiting for the zuchetta to sprout and will wait till I I have my poles set up before doing the peas
Sooo how do i live in Mendocino County and not know about the seed bank in Petaluma? or about Redwood Seed?? lol well maybe because i don't use social media? i live in a hole in the wall farming community? I'm a farmer so i have no life off the farm? I don't know?? but glad i found your channel to help me in my garden and now help me grow my seed collection lol
wow this was totally an awesome video so much info it blows me away living in Canada its cold fast im trying to figure out what i can grow in pots on my balcony beets and radishes are my fave i cant grow tomatoes to well but wow this video opened my eyes ty so much hugssssssss from Ontario Canada
THANK YOU for sharing..... thinking of attending nxt year 2019 in May..... all the way from GA... I love all the seeds visiting each mfg seed site....Jess found you by accident you're now one of my favorite sites have to watch you everyday thank you
Great video. I would have loved to go to the seed expo. It sounds so fun. I like those art seed packets. I also really like when you share your seed hauls.
I NEED that Flashback Calendula! lemon drop pepper is my fave! So good to meet another tomato addict. "yeah, we can share them with everyone!" so cute! I NEED Those ancient wheat seeds! Where did you get them? awesome haul!
Jess you are going to love the Emerite Pole Beans. They are sweet, crunchy and delicate. Honestly, most of them never made it to the kitchen. My absolute favorite and sadly did not grow them this year. New state, new growing conditions.
I think you are to buy some gourds for your children to go in their garden so they can do crafts with them in the wintertime when it’s cold and I can’t go outside I love painting them. And you can make so many fun containers for Christmas presents or birthday presents are just time for fun.
I'm growing Lemon Drop hot peppers for the first time this year (in 10b, right down the road from Santa Rosa), and I'm *so* excited. I hear they make for a fantastic hot sauce. I can't wait to see yours!
I have loved seed packets since I was a little girl! I woulda been right there w/ you Jess!!!😁 Def would have come home w/ way more than I could have used.😏 The Petaluma Seed Bank is a place I have wanted to visit since I 1st saw Jer talk about it in their Baker Seed Catalog!
Daniel's Tomato is supposed to be a Missouri heirloom tomato brought to US by a German family. I also ordered 2019 Bakers Creek seed catalog & will try this tomato next year.
We know you met fellow CZcamsrs, probably picked up more seeds than you needed, but in your adventure,,,,,1 what was the biggest surprise? , 2 what will make you do it again? 3 what did you learn that you will use in your garden?
I have not had to buy tomatoe, broccoli, beans, pease, potatoe, corn and many more in over 10 years. I the few seeds I buy are the crops that dont have time to go to seed in out cold climate.

I didn’t see their video until after I was home and I thought “dang now I’ve got more seeds to get!” The ancient and the orangeglo!
I love how so supportive you and Jerahmia are of one another, it warms my heart
The art packets are such a great idea.
Also, look at how cute Ben was! Still cute, but so much bigger now.
I am a seed hoarder, too, lol. I haven't been able to have a bug garden for the last 5 years thanks to Army housing. We are buying 16 acres and my husband is already afraid of my seed collection. I have so many catalogs ordered, hahaha. Glad I'm not alone.

I'm falling in love with seeds. I received birthday money and the first thing I thought of was SEEDS!!
I love watching you! I wish I could talk as smoothly and confident!
I love the art work on the seed packages! After using the seeds up I could never throw the packages away! To pretty.
I just saw your video on your shopping trip last year to the BC heirloom expo.

Great germination, growth, flavor. Love them. You can order them online too from the company Seeds Of Italy, which is a family company.

Lots of sharing. And unlike what is commonly believed, they last for years.
I, too, love seeds. The Baker Creek Catalog is where I go when i just want to look at things and relax. I could get lost in the store for a week!
Your happiness is contagious,lol.

Tokyo Bekanah - flea beetles, pill bugs and snails love this! Go on the offensive as soon as you sow the seed. They are worth the extra effort.
Oooh thank you for the tips!

I NEED that Flashback Calendula! lemon drop pepper is my fave! So good to meet another tomato addict. "yeah, we can share them with everyone!" so cute! I NEED Those ancient wheat seeds! Where did you get them? awesome haul!
I think they are made by Kamut? They were in the speaker bag, so I’m not sure but I’ll send you a pic of the pack
Hey Jess, once again, Lynne and I loved seeing you both at the expo.
Question; how do you store and organize all your seeds?
Jess you are going to love the Emerite Pole Beans. They are sweet, crunchy and delicate. Honestly, most of them never made it to the kitchen. My absolute favorite and sadly did not grow them this year. New state, new growing conditions.
When I watch you tonight, I feel like you're visiting me! I don't live very far from the Hudson Valley Seed Co.
I think you are to buy some gourds for your children to go in their garden so they can do crafts with them in the wintertime when it’s cold and I can’t go outside I love painting them. And you can make so many fun containers for Christmas presents or birthday presents are just time for fun.
Thank you for the links!
Looking forward to the micro greens videos. Very important folks learn to grow some food of any kind. Y’all have an awesome channel. Very informative.
I'm growing Lemon Drop hot peppers for the first time this year (in 10b, right down the road from Santa Rosa), and I'm *so* excited. I hear they make for a fantastic hot sauce. I can't wait to see yours!
Tokyo Bekhana is yummy! One of my favorite cool weather greens. I hope they do wekll in your warmer weather.
Awesome thanks for showing the seeds, nice to learn about other heirloom seed producers!
I just found your channel... really enjoying your videos!! Definitely going to be binge watching tomorrow when I process the last of our tomatoes 😋
Love it.... nothing better than a great story/storyteller!
We know you met fellow CZcamsrs, probably picked up more seeds than you needed, but in your adventure,,,,,1 what was the biggest surprise? , 2 what will make you do it again? 3 what did you learn that you will use in your garden?
Glad you made it back safe! God bless
I have not had to buy tomatoe, broccoli, beans, pease, potatoe, corn and many more in over 10 years.
I the few seeds I buy are the crops that dont have time to go to seed in out cold climate.
Love this, thanks for the video and interviews!
