@Mlle June do you have an islamic background? In islam there are two categories for women normal ones (wives) and concubines or sex slaves (mentioned in quran btw) the sex slaves were allowed to cover only their vaginas and they were being shown in marktes for people to buy and sell. You can find footage on youtube in the 60s of such market in saudi arabia. The other category of women were allowed only to stay at home and if they have to leave for necessity they must cover up so people don't mistake them for the sex slaves and hurt them or sexualy assault them. Muslim women in quran and hadith are encouraged to stay home and cover up the argument between islamic scholars is should be face cover or just hair.

It is because of intersectional solidarity. Since islam is considered a marginalized religious minority (because it is not christianity), it is part of the great intersectional, revolutionary family. Saying that there is something wrong about islam would suppose that there is something else that is wrong except straight, cis, christian white males and could potentially make all the other groups realize their interests diverge on many levels. This could lead to internal conflicts between said groups and make them lose sight of the revolution. Therefore, saying there is something wrong with islam is unthinkable for intersectional liberals.

Well I’ll put it bluntly. I’m a Muslim, I was born in England in 1993. My parents came here from a country colonised by Britain and therefore part of her majesty’s ‘commonwealth’ of nations. We were brought here for labour shortages in factories and mills in the north of England after the country was in shatters in the 50’s due to the war, a war in which thousands of our people from Punjab in India and now Pakistan died fighting for Britain (our coloniser).
Now in regards to Gay people, I couldn’t really give a toss who anybody sleeps with, neither do most Muslims. Nor do we try to push our beliefs on anyone. We believe in certain laws and principles given to humanity from God, and therefore we believe homosexuality to be something which is sinful.
Now, Mr Dawkins - if you’re so ‘liberal’ and free thinking, why are we not allowed to believe and follow that which we believe? We don’t believe in changing how you live, we don’t believe in interfering with anyone’s laws in the west for how they want to live, is your ideology the moral standard for the whole world because you’re European white and athiest? Why must everyone adhere to your way of thinking or living, then in the same breathe you say you are liberal?
We are entitled to believe in our book our god and our prophets, why do you not take up verbals arms against Judaism? Is homosexuality legal for the Jews?
This is not an Islamic country, we’re aware of that. But we have the full right not to bend our religion to suit the 21st century bogus liberalism pushed by you to children in schools. There’s no problem if someone wants to be gay, we don’t care. This is not a sharia country, EVERYONES entitled to do or believe as they please. We just choose not to take part in it. We choose to hold on to our morals and traditions and rules send down by God. are we not entitled to? Do we have to turn gay to prove to you it’s not a ‘hostile’ mentality we have towards gays? Or are we allowed to just not take part, believe as we believe and live our lives?

The trouble is religion is given special compensation in society. There are anti-discrimination laws against religion and rightfully so (you shouldn't be allowed to deny someone a job or refuse someone a service based on religion). The problem is religion is given special compensation to infringe on individual rights and is actively allowed to discriminate against other groups all in the name of a belief (belief is something that is an actual choice unlike sexuality and sex).
Liberals seem to think because Muslims get a tough ride in the western world because of recent terrorist attacks they need to stand up for them. These prejudices need calling out but not criticising the issues of the religion is wrong. There are massive repercussions if you call out the issues with islam just as there are massive repercussions if you criticise the state of Israel. You only need to look at the backlash of the 2005 Jyllands posten incident to see what happens if you criticise or make fun of Islam. Mockery of judaism in Muslim media is well known and a blind eye is turned to it but mockery of Muhammed saw world wide outrage.

Nah, the far left are being used, useful idiots to push that agenda for two reasons:
1: If successful in that push, the elites, the wealthy, those who had many interactions with the Epsteins of the world, will then be off the hook. "Hey, its legal, you can't get us for it now... ".
2: it creates further division between the idiot populace since neither side seems capable of separating individuals from ideas, or distinctive ideologies of either side of a political spectrum. Shit, having the right believe that all on the left are so inclined does wonders for easing the manipulation and control of society at large, just as if the left believe the right are all religous gun toting nutjobs who despise the poor.

It is abhorrent, and people tried to justify it, but it shouldn't be compared to the slavery that existed prior, where it was more like indentured servitude. Even war criminals, or subjected nations, weren't really viewed as an individuals property (aside from maybe a king's) but still enjoyed many of the freedoms the empires had to offer.

It’s very hard to criticize Islam without people taking it personal, just like some other more extreme religious people. I’ve never seen a shortage of critique towards just about anything and anyone else from many muslims, so it’s really one of the most obvious cases of something or someone that can dish it out but not take it.
It’s also highly organized and you very often have a problem, not just with one person, but with a large group of people, as soon as you criticize. Islam truly is one of the most dangerous ideologies today, despite being a preposterous “belief” system.
