Thank you!
As a metal framer here in California mostly commercial ...we have to know how to hang drywall as well. The circle cutter and a keyhole saw come in handy a lot. Some snips. Especially if your hanging on metal stud instead of wood framing.
Radio is the most important tool. Makes everything flow smooth and charges your batteries
Yes on the longer tape. I love my 25 footer because it stands out like 12' and it makes it easier to get measurements myself, plus like you say it's important to do a layout in bigger rooms so you don't wind up with joints in weird places.
You can have all those tools, and pay a lot of money for them and still not be able to do the job. There's so much more to doing it right that people don't know, and it will always show when an amateur hangs it.
I can imagine the GC walking in on you guys all alone on the jobsite, half naked and with a camera. LOL!
Lol.
Thanks for the video. I’m trying to get started myself.
Don't let that kid drink caffeine of any kind!!!
Haven’t tried the Milwaukee gun/router but I use the makita drywall gun. It works awesome for when I’m tacking up stand ups. I’ll come back and screw the room off with my quiet clutch corded dewalt gun.
I use a horse hooves rasp as a drywall rasp it last way longer been having the same one for over a year
Hey man just wanna let you know i really enjoy watching your vids ! As a fellow boarder for 14 years now i can definitely relate and enjoy watching someone else that seems to have the same knowledge and work ethic when it comes to Drywall. Its hard to come across drywall related videos where guys actually know the PROPER WAY TO HANG so i love watching your content man ! Keep up the awesome work 🤘🏻. Btw i should mention im up in Edmonton, Alberta , Canada and out here we use Drywall Adhesive on all of our inside walls. I also always make sure that ive got either strips of OSB or 1X4 for backing in areas where truss’ change or where i can run full length sheets. Another thing i always have on me is Metal Angles to use in areas where theres bad Truss uplift and also in corners that are missing backing and also if i need to frame or fix any bulk heads 👍🏻
I would add a few things to the list. Mine is nearly identical to yours.
A drywall saw is a great addition and keyhole saw is a must have imo.
Dipped, puncture, and cut resistant gloves speed up handling screws in your bag by 100% and let you grind wallboard much better. The gloves I use are thin but can withstand a forceful utility blade. No cut injuries!
Blue chock doesn't oxidize through paint like red or yellow chock does.
Big 10/4 keep up the good work my friend
Chalk line , Screw bits, extending walk planks, a charger for the batteries lol . You should give the makita cordless screw gun a try , definitely worth it , was with dewalt for a while till i tried makita out, dont think im switching back
You can tell the kids a lifer. He knows the prices because he has eye on getting his own
Just got off work i really appreciate the video man ...
Nice video for the kids.. I'd stay a Hilti auto feed but you guys will be faster and get s little spoiled .. you got everything cover only other tool I'd say but it's a option a stiletto Hammer that Carpenters use I have one and they're very nice to have best hammer on the market by far
Radio tops the list!
Ive been waiting for this video! You slould do one for metal stud framing! Also I think a lunch time video would be cool. like where do you go to eat or what you bring to keep the crew happy.
Sup bro, I hang, tape, trowel anything. I have the same set up. Same radio, I choose Milwaukee over Dewault. Chargers my battery. Love that radio! Watch your videos. Good shit man.
Thanks :)
I love the cordless drywall drills but you couldn’t kill the dw272s. New brushes now and than but other than that they took a beating.
I like to carry some sort of pry bar (generally my cat's paw) and a Phillips head screwdriver in case a screw needs a 1/4 turn
oh and maybe the good ol' poke saw as well! cant go wrong with one of those in a tight spot!
One more thing I want to say is if that your guys are doing drywall and probably that's all you're going to do that is totally cool but I'd say if you wanted to expand and not only do drywall once you master it also look into and start learning about automatic taping drywall finishing sanding and then texturing because that stuff is fun and makes money as well and it is over all part of the drywall business
Your right about the square, people have forgot the old school tricks. They didn't have lasers and digital angle finders lol they used squares and had simple stuff and theres nothing wrong with simple.
Layout!!!! that a boy!
Milwaukee is a good brand I use Hilti I have a Hilti router Hilti radio very nice and again the Hilti auto feed with a new attachment with Hilti screws and I also use a panel lift even if I have two other people with me I normally never hang drywall alone but the panel lift is very helpful save energy saves back saves shoulder and it's the only way I will hang drywall just cut it load it crank It screw it move on to the next one
Up in Canada here we dont carry those expensive benches .. the most we pay would be 150 dollars for a 6ft bench. A 2 ft bench 50 bucks . I use the same roto zip bits same lifter (kicker) same router same radio. But I'm a hilti cordless gun I stand buy it I have used every gun hilti is my favorite I use the olfa knife black blades there the sharpiest but I lock the blade so it dosent move . I use perma pouch there decent brand . The garage is 5/8 sheetrock ceiling and walls in Canada. There trying to make mandatory to use the step up in high Rises I just dont see myself using it . How come the sheets are lined up behind James to keep going up the wall to the peak???? What happend there ? Keep up the good work . Like the vids
Make a video of lunchtime
Would love to see a video with commentary on tips to speed up workflow...might be what experienced hangers would consider basic knowledge but thinking what you would teach a new apprentice. Thanks.
Very interesting and informative video. I very much enjoyed it. As always the bonus is getting to see those big boots of yours. You and Squanch are a great fun duo. Always love your videos bro. PS. YOUR TATTOOS- AMAZING ! --- "Squanch out" -lol . great kid
Thanks :)
Always welcome, James.
Some solid gains for the youngster!
Btw whats the going rate for over there for installations?
Hi James would you still use the same set up for commercial work e.g schools and offices or would you wear a bigger pouch ? And you missed tin snips for if your working with metal studs lol
The Snips!!!
This guy wins.
You should try out a ryobi drywall cutter and drill and let me know what you think of it. I'm looking to maybe do some side work this winter when I'm not plowing snow. All my cordless tools are already ryobi.
Bro Ryobi is a diy/homeowner brand. Not for professional applications where youre going to be using them all day every day.
I HOPE YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKING BUT HOW DO YOU CHARGE FOR JOB AND PRICE WHEN IT'S JUST LABOR
I didn't see a circle cutter or a keyhole saw
Justin Carriere watch the video
What about drywalling tabbaco
🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
Dude looks like frank west
snips ...Bro
How come you don't use Hilti ? Is it price ? Because I think Hilti is worth every penny
Do you or have you used the collated drywall screws and guns? Most people use them in UK now
No people use them because they think it save time.
Switched to collated screwgun a year ago, doubled production, never going back to loose screws!!
dont offend us. collated screws are for rookies. a pro can screw just or faster thn that. im amateur still but i know if i use tools that take away skill im always going to be basic.
Cool vid man! How about those boots. They are a tool you need to get the job done. How have they been treating you? You haven't done a review on them lately
I'll do a review soon
Jab saw?
Do you guys put fire rated 5/8 rock on garage walls too cuz out here in New Mexico us framers have to put fire rated sheetrock on the wall that separates garage and house..
And I was thinking about opening up my own vlog for work as well I'm only 19 what's the best 24 hour video camera?
That records at least 24 hour my bad
We do that in florida as well am 18
Anaya Framer yes 5/8required here in Nevada
Same in Ireland
Hammer budd
Show them how you pick up the square with your tape from up high
Que honda loco cual es la pistola más rápida
So do you and your crew hang drywall and do the mudding and taping or just hang drywall?
I’ve had bad experiences with fixed blades in the past. Are they absolutely necessary?’
For drywall yes. Saves time. Ive never had a problem with them.
How long are your milwaukee routers lasting you? The last few ive used from other tool companies have crapped out fast and cut slow.
Jantzen Moore try buying more bits. Dull bits will make your tool work harder thus it crapping out
carson Goodman I think my problem is I'm pushing the tools too hard, I havent used a cordless router that puts out the power the corded do. I want to know if the milwaukee will withstand the beating without sacrificing power
Auto feed screwdriver vs drywall bit
Trowel and hawk or knife and pan?
A blunt would be helpful to get you through the day,lol
Ixnay the blunt. A lil' dab will do ya!
Where do you work?
Hi bro How much I Gotta charged per square feet ? Im from nj
2.25 skim coat
a level lol
That lil guy is your stepladder eh
Mis hanging actual. Cordless has came a long way. You should have seen the cord mess I use to deal with. 😤
Door and widows bit 1/2 inch bit so much faster
Tattoos make you blend whit the wall brotha! 😂
wilberth antonio may tun, seems like the kid has the complexion of drywall, dry wall camo.
Vc podia manda pro Brasil uma parafusadera dessa pra mim de presente brother
hahahah tbm queria mano
20# tank and a single burner and make a hot lunch every day. That beats the local choke and puke
Collated screw gun
Camera man shhhhhhh. We don't need your comments
Damn those are very expensive weird lookin benches
Do these Tattoos make me look fat 😂😂😂😂 never fat until you achieve the title "Girth quake"
you let your cameraman huff helium at work?
His balls just haven't dropped yet.
vai me da parafusadera de presente
You know what the best tool for hanging drywall is? A subcontractor
Camara men got kicked on the balls or something
Chicago carpenter local 10 stilts are not safe and not used in Chicago
Who would let that in their house in the first place!!
That stool is stupid ....nah jk I never tried it before
Do you actually have people who only hang drywall for a living??
Why are you using a normal driver, why not one made for drywall it’s so much faster.
Yes they are subcontractors. And those are drywall screw guns. They have a clutch and trigger lock. I have a video about why I'm not using collated attachments you can check out. But if you're not in America the drywall guns do look different.
Nomadic INK i didn’t know it was called a collated drywall gun, but that was what I meant, I think if I did a direct translation, you would probably think “what’s a plaster gun”.
I will check that out, because I have never seen anyone using the type you use, so it’s a bit interesting to see the reasons, because me brain really can’t figure out the advantages.
Okay here in Denmark the carpenter do everything that’s not set in stone!
So if you are building a house you do everything from framing, installing windows, roofing and finishing.
all these fancy tools hell I did drywall back in the late 70s until recently we used to hang with buckets we didn't use benches we didn't use routers will use the knife and a tape we did this before screw guns we used hammers but just to show you how full of crap these guys are you don't hang drywall without a shirt. With all that insulation that's in it you'll be itching for days but funny video got a kick out of it haha
I knew this 6'7" dude that could carry a 12 footer in one arm and talk on the phone with the other. Always used nails to set the drywall before he screws it down. The kicker, he could set the nail deep enough with his hands so it would hang long enough for him to grab his hammer. Dude could hang a 5/8 lid at 9' by himself. Fucking nutty. Loved having him around.
#hangahouseaday
Was a girl recording? or Spongebob?
Ouch my balls haven't dripped yet i guess.
Wanted to watch & learn, but couldn't get pass those shirtless bodies! SMH !
Keep yer trap shut camera boy
The kid is annoying.
Looks like junkies. Seriously bad look.
Junkies dont make the time and effort to make educational videos... don't judge all books by the cover. 😊
