  • The focal point of this video is the full installation, step by step of the Land Pride third function valve. The ending of this video actually sets the stage for where this one begins: • Mistake Installing Thi... . The problem is at this point I did not know I had made a mistake or it would have been taken care of right here and now. So in this particular case if you have already watched that tagged video, you know what I'm talking about.
All in all this install was quite simple, the most difficult being figuring out what the components are and where they go. But anyone with basic mechanical skills can easily accomplish the task. It will help if you have metric as well as standard end wrenches. Adjustable wrenches will get the job done, but the tight spaces will make it difficult. One additional point brought out in the previous video, (actually its a sequel to this video) is the difficulty of old eyes to ferret out some of the small part numbers on the pictorial drawings for the assembly. But that's a complaint that will register only with guys and gals my age and older.
By the time you see this video and have taken the time to read this description, know that the grapple has been received and is working quite well with the control valve we installed today. #kubota, #landpride, #hydraulic

Great job T! You are going to love hooking up the Grapple - you will use it a lot. Just a little tip from your old buddy, If you are looking to relieve the pressure out of the hydraulics, you need to turn the key to the Accessory position before you cycle the joystick - that relieves the pressure. Be well and stay genuine!

We had a good time loading with his Bobcat excavator, and if he didn't tell you, Daniel is my cousin. You should see him in the video too !! I'm gonna call him to come by my place for sawing a few of them too. Thanks for commenting Garry...and I'm glad to hear you stop in often to keep an eye on what we got going on. Don't be a stranger !! Me and him have a ton of old stories about motorcycle riding back in the day.

Yes, its pretty much self explanatory once you get a bit familiar with the parts. This video was made before the last one where I explained the mistake with the fittings.

Hey tm44, that grapple is gonna be a very nice attachment for your new tractor. I use my pallet forks a bunch because I have not bit the bullet yet to buy a grapple and third function valve. Thats going to be super nice for bunking logs and sawmill work. 🚜

Forks are really handy too. I started out with that old Toyota forklift and then made forks for the Ford 4500 hoe and continued making them for the next few tractors. So getting a grapple has been a long time coming ! Thanks for stopping in Dean. I appreciate all you guys visiting.

@@thesmallwoodlot433 Well better get to getting more wood...winter is right around the corner Pat !! LOL. No I've not seen anyone use an ammo can for a stove or grill. I DID manage to bring a few home though. Unfortunately I've given most all of the nice M-14 ammo boxes away. I think I'm down to three or 4 and wish now I had some of them back. )-:/ I did save some of the heavy artillery cans because they are water proof and I keep cement in some and other important stuff in others. Heck they hold well over an 80# sack in each one !!

@@tractorman4461 great tips! If you ever think about building one into a stove, you can get the cans at tractor supply or even at harbor freight! Knowing your background in hvac, I think you would have a very well built stove!😂

I agree. For the last 20 years of my job, the biggest percentage of my work was commercial hvac system and control startup, small medium and large. Mostly all new and shiny. No age old dirt, dust and old greasy stuff. Well, there still was when sent on service calls on old equipment, but I enjoyed start-ups the best !!

When will the grapple be in?
Can you hook up a hydraulic brush hog to the front?
I did notice that you put the loader on level ground this time.

I don't think the gpm will be great enough for running a bushhog Rick. As I understand the third function valve is a 'diverter' valve that just robs a bit of oil from the dump and curl circuit. So the gpm is not real great. The grapple was delayed a bit beyond what I was told on the phone. But I have it now and have been using it moving logs already. There is definitely a learning curve to it for sure.
