Massive SALE on NOW👇🏻

If you’re in the market for a new bike, NOW is the time!
Soon, there is going to be the rapture. It's when there will be trumpet sounds, and after the trumpet sounds, God will lift his people from here. Also, God said people should be living by the Bible. Amen, and God bless you.
❤* John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have eternal life". ❤
When I search for a budget bike video, this is what I’m looking for. Not a “budget bike” for $1,500, but some below $700 to just get into the sport if you don’t have that much money to spend. Great video!
If you got $500 buy second hand ,you can get a bike from 2012 worth near 2k , just check all bushings and jobs a gud'n, way way betterment than any store bike upto and over a grand
@@ianmangham4570 thanks for the recommendation!
I bought a 2017 felt for $1100 that was a $2k in its time and i overpaid but you can definitely buy something used at a good price.
Giordano Intrepid still on sale for 537ish vs 649 normal price
I came here for the same thing. I watched 3 videos about "budget". Not one under $1k lol.
Top it off, every bike needed upgraded to be decent in one way or another.
So far, this is the BEST video I have found to get my first mountain bike, in my opinion no other video gets you explained for a beginner and plus great edited.
And it is on a BUDGET!!
Great video man, keep it up!!
Thanks homie! Glad it helped!🤜🏼🤛🏼
What did you get ?
It would be even better if you can get anything from that list, all out of stock
You can have a dropper and a front derailleur at the same time. There's a different lever that's placed on top of the bars to not interfere with the shifter.
Thanks for the information. I’m going to be new to MTB and I am currently waiting on my Kona Lanai. Let’s go!!
FYI, the Kent seatpost diameter is 30.4mm, which - yes - you won't find a dropper for. However Cane Creek and numerous chinese knock off brands make an adapter that will convert 30.4 > 28.6 or 27.2, for which there are loads of options.
Great Video lots of Info. I just bought a Ozark trail. I love it already saving for the Kona
Everything is out of stock 😢
What happeneds when it gets advertised
Really nice videos ! I love the channel, good job man !
Thanks! Means a lot!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Awesome. We need more lists like this.
I was bikepacking and currently stranded this is actually kind helpful
8:49 As someone who sells bikes for a living, it's better to have external cable routing for mountain bikes, especially lower end. There's literally no downside. It's cheaper, easier to fix the crappy parts that come on them, and easy to upgrade or remove.
Thanks for the insight!🤜🏼🤛🏼
I would honestly prefer BOTH options so i can choose which i do.
Bro you are real pro the best top quality budget bike on you tube you managed to put them together ,i subscribe and folow .Great job ,lots of help to help me get what i need.Good wealth and all the best
Thanks for the kind words! Glad to have you in the audience!🤜🏼🤛🏼
I got the Polygon Xtrada 6 at the beginning of this year. (I upgraded from Giant Talon 4). Everything about the bike is great for the trails I like to ride. It is a very grounded, stable bike and definitely worth the money. I think I got it on sale for $699 or something. Bikes Online actually forgot the box with the QR skewer and pedals, but I sent one email, and they sent all the stuff I was missing and more in about 2 days. One thing you left out from the video, which is a weird detail, is that this fork actually has rebound dampening! On a coil fork, which is really weird, but there is a very noticeable difference between min and max. All I need for it now is a dropper post, which is 27.2mm. All in all would recommend getting this bike 👍👍
Thanks for the input! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Great video. Any thoughts about Canon-dale Trail 5. There’s a REI store close to where I live, and that bike looks awesome to me, but of course II don’t anything about bikes.
Thanks
They recently dropped the price of the silverback stride sport to €299 for Black Friday.
It’s an incredible bike with internal cable routing, hydraulic disc breaks, 1x8 drivetrain…
Although the drivetrain may seem low I ride up the hill I live on every day and the largest cog can easily get you up some really steep sections.
I don’t to much fast flat land riding but goin long distances if comfortable and fun, especially with the easily adjustable fork it came with.
So I pulled the trigger and ordered the Kona Lava dome after watching this video. Can’t wait to go riding with the kids. Been struggling on the big box bike I’ve had.
Kona makes great bikes! Hope you have a blast!
I definitely agree. If you buy a Walmart bike. Do take it to a bike mechanic or if you know how to work on bikes, go over the bike.
Subscribed! Thank you.
Kent Trouvaille has 2 frame sizes. And the large frame is setup for internal dropper post connection. (You need to run a shim and small tube dropper)
You're a great presenter. Enjoy listening and learning from you.
Cheers! Happy to see you’re enjoying the videos.🤜🏼🤛🏼
Wow I have never had anything but a Sears or Walmart bike as a 56-year-old this video was cool. What do you think of the Trek marlins they are probably the cheapest bike at my local bike shop. Video was great, Thank you
Just bought an Ozark Trail for my 13 year old. I was feeling kind of guilty for getting such a cheap bike, but there was a lot that I liked about it. Anyway, I feel better about the purchase after seeing this. Great job on the video.
my dad bought me cheap bikes but im sure your kid loves you for it no matter what. good job parent!
Pride marvel 9.3 for 530$:
1) Microshift Advent rear derailleur and 2×9 shift levers
2) Oil-spring Suntour xct fork with lockout
3) Hydraulic Sram level brakes with front rotor 180 and rear 160
4)29" wheels
I hope this gets enough views to justify the time spent on the intro edit.
Thx! 🫶🏻 Oh it will… my last 5 buyer’s guides all rank #1 and #2 in google and YT search… many people out there looking to get into mountain biking and I hope it’ll help a few out there chose their first bike. Cheers!
Thanks I’ll show my friend this he wants to start
Sick! Thx for sharing!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Does the Norco Storm 5 rear hub allow future upgrade to 1X10 Speed?
Great video! How would you rank the diamondback overdrive 29 2 at the current sale price of $500 ?
Looking to get into biking, what kind of bike would you recommend for road/trail? Im 5’7 190lbs
Fantastic list! I’m starting a high school MTB team in a farming town in Michigan. Price WILL be a factor for families and I’ve been trying to put a list just like your together. Sounds like we are on the same page for the top 10. I am curious if you looked at some of the smaller brands like Eastern and Batch? Anything worth even considering from them?
Best video for beginner trying to figure out first bike thanks
Music to my ears! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
The Ozark Trail Ridge is now aavailaable in a small frame (15") and newer production bikes now have a Microshift Acolyte shifter/derailleur (with clutch). The front brake rotor is now 180mm.
Hello, I'm new to the channel and I'm interested in buying a mountain bike but I weigh 280 and I'm 6'1, what bike do you recommend that can hold my weight, thanks in advance
I recently bought a eastern alpaka 29er..it's the first time I've ever heard of eastern bike company so I'm asking have you got any input as to if I got a good deal or??..I don't know
If I’m going to change all the components anyway what is the best frame to start ?
I learned a fkn lot about marketing and content creation(or maybe design) with this video that mountain biking appears to be “sliding”.😊
Great Vid 👍
Glad you liked it!🤜🏼🤛🏼
External cable routing is the best option if you are going to work on your bike yourself. Especially with hydraulic brakes. Internal cable roughing is a gimmick that makes your bike worse. Only exception is if you put the bike on chairlifts. Then getting the cables out of the way is good for durability.
Good for durability ? Is it because of no risk of damage by chairlift ?
I have a 2018 Trek Marlin 5 that has external cables and “friends” tell me I should get a newer Marlin 5 JUST FOR INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING!! I hate internal routing. Just unreal how people blow a decent amount of money over a simple GIMICK!!!!
Trail ready budget biked
Able co core
Ozark trail ridge
Kent trouvellie
Kent Enclave
Giordano Valor
Giordano Intrepid
Poseidon Norton
I have no idea why but I guess my best bet is to get the off road machine 1st to commute and possibly take to the trails on/offroad. once i get used to riding bikes ill potentailly get a road bike. so my options are xtrada 7 for $799, San Quentin for $899, Bobcat Trail 5 for $699, a Kona Mahuna for $839... could get a lower end xtrada or bobcat for even less like you mentioned but...IDK the prices changed. please help.
definitely gonna save up so I can get a good bike for Christmas.
I’m about 5”10 220lbs, what would you recommend size wise?i Want to ride on the bike trail
Wow I didn't know Kona Lava Dome was still in the catalog. Back around 1994/1995 I was a teenager and mowed lawns, washed cars and saved all my birthday/xmas money. Saved up $747 after a year or so and bought a white Kona Lava Dome with RockShok Quadra forks, Kona A / B drive tires, Kona race light seat post, stem and bars all from memory. I knew the catalog on that thing as I couldn't wait to afford and buy it. Talk about being in shape back then, I would ride that miles just to hit the trails and then ride home. I was a surprised to see Lava Dome in that list and clicked the link right away. 25yrs later I still lightly ride from time to time. Bought a newer hardtail a few weeks back. Cannondale Cujo 1 2019 for $320 and almost like new. Still need to figure how to raise the seatpost without the dropper no longer working.
(figured it out, just had to push same cable house more into the frame up top and pull a little more out near the crank to give slack for the dropper to be able to be raised up)
I very nearly bought a new Lava Dome 2 weeks ago. Local shop had one in eggplant purple for $700. Probably still does. Hideous color for a solid bike.
@@ShepherdsSheepdog Well they removed it and I didn't even post a link. If you google Kona Lava Dome you will see you can get white or black in all sizes for $437.50. Looks like a sweet deal.
I did this exact shopping a few months ago. I was looking for my 14 year old son a good hard tail that could take some abuse and be a ton of fun, and be upgradeable. I ended up catching a great sale from Salsa. I bought him a Rangefinder for a little over $600. Advent X shifting, with MASSIVE 27.5, 2.8 Maxxis tires. Tekro hydraulic brakes. Tapered head tube. 120 mm XCM fork with lockout. Internal routing and ready for a dropper post. Needless to say my kid has had an absolute blast on this bike. It could have easily made the number 1 spot on this list for the price, however the price is back to $899 right now. Seems to go on and off sale frequently.
Love the salsa frames. And that sounds like a sweet deal! Glad to see another smart shopper out there!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Don’t get me wrong, your list was perfect. Especially considering that the Salsa went back up in price. I looked closely and considered every bike on your list. I was practically calling the next bike up and several times I was correct. Ha! I actually just ordered a Norco Storm 4 for my oldest son. He’s not an avid biker but if he chooses to start trail riding, the Storm should be easily upgradeable. He just needs a good capable commuter for college next fall. Oh, and one last detail about the Salsa… the fork is a through axle, and my LBS assembled and sold it to me for the Salsa sale price. Now I have a new relationship with that shop. In fact they are dropping Kona, because they are going direct to consumer so there’s no money to be made on that brand. Instead they picked up Norco! And yes, once again they gave me the online sale price. My Storm 4 should be here any day now. I’m super stoked. Just wish the storm had a tapered head tube. That would have made it perfect. But, I didn’t want a Walmart bike, and $450 used or new was my absolute cap for a commuter mountain bike.
Finally a video that’s not 1500 or 2k for a “budget” bike 🙏🏼. Thank you for the video
Cheers!🤜🏼🤛🏼
@@TopToBottomMTBcan’t wait till you make a 2024 list 🙏🏻. Thank you for the list and video
I’m looking to convert a bike into an e bike which of these would be the best option?
Best video ever 💯💪🏻
Cheers!🤜🏼🤛🏼
I have a Trek Marlin 29r. But I upgraded the drive train ,fork and brakes.
Is the GT Aggressor Pro any good?
Which is better between polygon xtrada 5 and trek marlin 5 gen 2
My 2016 Kona Splice got stolen . I took that bike everywhere. I found a Marin bobcat 3 . I love this bike. Great replacement. Wooohoo!
Great video, but you forgot about the Canyon Stoic 2, great bike with modern trail geometry, a burly 140mm fork for 749
great bike, but sold out for except for large / XL
Wanted to keep it under $700
Checkout the eastern alpaka. 29 or 27.5. I bought the 29 for 399 and put $400 in it and it's been a tank.
Great video 👏 Subscribed ✅
Sweet! Welcome Chad!🤜🏼🤛🏼
I just bought the ozark trail. Just getting into the sport.
Sick should be a great platform to learn on! 🤘🏻
Would you consider added a CYC Photon conversation kit to the Polygon Xtrada 6? I'd love an electric hard tail, and this seems like a much cheaper route to that.
I’ll look into it! Thx!
What do you think of ribble hardtails
GT agressor superbudget, GT Avalanche a nice budget trail bike
Just picked up the lava dome for $525 which sounds like a steal!!
What are thoughts on the Eastern Alpaka 29" everyone?
Hi, great informative video. I'm looking in the price range. Between Marin bobcat trail 4, trail 5, and San Quentin 1, which would you recommend? Thanks
what would be your choice between Marin Bobcat Trail 5 and Polygon Xtrada 6? Both 1x11
My new idea monster drink logo on bike, monster drink logo also t shirts in this mountain dew slippers in stores
Man we used to beat the hell out of a few huffy mountain bikes from toys r us and never have issues. Jumps, trails all of it, its crazy how expensive anything is anymore, but then again my Haro t boy Fatboy frame alone back then was over 400.
How about e11even M1X10?
Can you do a gravel bike version of this video
What do you think of the specialized rockhopper expert 29"? For trails?
I have the same question. Find for $599
My wife has the Storm 1, and it's fantastic. The cheaper versions are still excellent value bikes. I was so impressed, I bought their Fluid HT1 for myself!
Thanks for letting everyone know! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
The giant talon 4 comes with a 2x8 drive train, front is micro shift and rear is Shimano Altus.
How did you leave out the Trek Marlin
I would have bought an Xtrada6 by now if only it had a 30.9 or 31.6 Seatpost. 27.2 limits it to a max 125mm dropper.
Thoughts on Eastern Alpaca?
Thought you were going to mention trek marlin 6 and giant talon 2 (not the 4) I'm considering these 2 for cross country riding. What is anyone's thought or suggestions
Yeah pricing has changed quite a bit since I made the video… good deals to be had on the better bikes now!🤘🏻
i have a norco storm 5 its absolute rubbish every time i ride the bike something breaks i went of a 4 inch ramp and some how my derailleur went into my wheel blew out 6 spokes bent my chain derailleur is in 4 pieces and i wasn't doing anything dumb i was just launching of it
Whats the best one of the list that has EVERYTHING you need but no extra stuff for preference, i just want one that works perfectly and comes all together
Your thoughts on Trek Marlin 6. This will be a trail riding bike.
what do you think of the specialized rockhooper 29 hardtail?
Great bike! Just a little out of the budget for this video.
and the bobcat trail 5? for 600 dolars its worth it?
The only bike I would pick is the Polygon xtrada 6 because of the geo and the one by. I wouldn’t wanna start out without that again.
Good insight! Thanks!🤜🏼🤛🏼
How does the entry lvl Rockhoppers compare to this list?
As someone who is somewhat new to this and is 6’2 but want a bike. Also have some biking experience when I was younger. What do you recommend for sizes for me now? There isn’t a bike shop near me to much.. I would appreciate a response
Large frame
I still have to finish this video but, if someone could help me pick a bike please within the range of $500? I’ve been wanting a bike because I recently moved places and now live in more farm land so there’s a lot of dirt, messed up gravel and some places it gets like a mucky dirt, kinda wet. I need a mountain bike but not something to do JUMPS or whatever you know? Just something that’s reliable that can handle everyday biking, I’m not gonna be going crazy I just want a bike that I can use for when I don’t want to go running (the roads are also up and downhill in some places)
What do you think about the batch #707
I just bought a used one for $100 and it's all brand new parts. Guy offered free tune ups for life.
how do ik what size i need
The Kent Trouvaille does come in 16 and 18 inch frames.
Must be new… only had one choice when I looked! Good to know! Thx!
Trouvaille is available in multiple sizes.
How bout this Eastern Alpaka that's being talking about?
I would recommend Specialized rockhopper (regular or Sport) they are under 700$, come with lifetime warrinty and good parts. I somehow found rockhopper comp for 600$ and I still dont belive i saved 350$
At $650, the rockhopper still has mechanical disc brakes… I feel like you pay quite a bit for the brand with specialized…
I have been looking at the Diamondback line it’s 700 right now.
Great bike! It was on my list last year.
So it’s definitely worth the money?
spend a couple bucks more and get the Xtrada 7. I love it so much!
Gt aggressor?
29er i think is the best🤠
Me too!
I got a giant revel 4
hol up. walmart, in most markets, use a 3rd party assembler. it's not better, to be fair, because we get paid per bike, and most mechs cut corners on the job. but dont throw shade on walmart employees.
to put a dropper on a kent, you have to shim a 27.2 to fit.
and the kent comes in a medium(small really) and a large(medium more like) i've had both in my shop
the ozark fork sucks. name brand fork with no lock out is sus. props on the acolyte drive train tho.
But how to you drop shade on walmart bikes, but dont mention the Axum Comp X? not to bash on the xtrada. ive owned and loved the 7. but the phrase that irks me is " you cant get that from walmart" again. axum comp x. 1x. agressive geo. solid fork. clutch. and unlike any other sub 1k bike. a factory dropper post.
heck, ii'll put the old axum dp over pretty much everything on this list, with its factory "Axe" drivetrain
Cannondale trail 8
Should have tagged or shout out berm peak for using their footage
Thank you for the videos. If the budget is 1k, would you still recommend the Polygon Xtrada 6, or the Marin San Quintin 1; that was from an earlier video you made.
If the budget is 1k, what’s the number 1 mountain bike you recommend? It would be my first bike 😊
Thank you so much again for your help and advice!
Dropper post?
My Kent came sized m at 16.25" and dropper ready
$55 Shimano mt 200 and 27.2 dropper and shim $100
What about Giant Talon 0?
