- If you want to become a content writer and have no experience, you can still get started. I work as a content writer and write blog articles for many different clients. Before I started this position, I had no idea what content writing was or how to get started.
In this video, I will cover my experience as a content writer and what I advise all new writers do when starting out or making a portfolio.

Thanks for the video. So I am intern in a start up and I have had to write captions a couple of time for products, to invite associates to a meeting, addressing people. But over a while, I have noticed I need to improve and most of my write ups and style is getting old. How can I improve and get better? Also, is this also part of content writing?

So, where do you put your portfolio? In a google doc? Do I need a website or blog to show them??
Making a website (Even a free one with Wix or something) is a good idea. I've just got a collection of PDFs and screenshots that I've made into a singular file, so nothing super fancy.
I have been searching for jobs the past three weeks and they've been asking me to upload files before giving me the work and now it strikes me that I need to have a portfolio. Its me starting from square zero. Poor me but this was

hey there, i am just starting out, i just need a mentor, i wish i could shadow some content writers or show them some mock contents, & maybe an apprentice, once I level up, they can chose to hire me as subcontractor, i will set this up on Fiverr or Upwork or any other way they like, thank you for your video. how do you get people that can testify to the quality of your writing to show the potential employer and that they can verify that its not sombody giving you comments just to help you out?
Once you’ve made the portfolio and proven you can do it, start reaching out to small businesses around you. Perhaps you have family who need content rewriting - start there! Any recommendations you can get are great at this point

The reality is, if you have no experience, you’ll probably never be better than a highly-trained writer.

@@joevasquez8329 Didn’t say you needed to be born with it. If you’re just trying to learn on the job, you’ll be leagues behind highly-trained writers.
It’s like expecting a normal person to job into a professional sports league and be able to compete. The hubris of thinking you actually can compete is CRAZY.

So then highly trained writers were born highly trained? Also you don't have to be the best in anything to get work. The better you are the more you get paid, but they're will always be someone better. Imagine approaching someone working out and telling them the reality is you'll never be better than a highly trained athlete.
