I use to live in ikuebukaro. Looks like it’s gone anime overdrive since then (early 2000s). Back then the only anime/manga store was animate. Thanks for bringing back good memories 😊

Stupid me.. I bumped into Sunshine City (while heading to Animate) 2 weeks ago at Ikebukuro and missed out on the many goodies that she offers. Thank you for bringing us there and I be sure to check the place next visit - I am collecting the One Piece wanted posters and (from your footage) this One Piece store seems to have a lot more as compared to the one I visited at Shibuya.
Thankful for your upload and congratulations on your lucky pulls! Really like the Goku last pull, it is the perfect memoir and symbolic of Dragonball's author.

Sunshine city is huge! I was there 2 weeks ago and only saw half the stores you showed in this video. I’ll have to visit again if I ever go back to Japan.

I will definitely check out sunshine city next year on my first Japan trip. The Takina figure was my favourite. I have not heard of the anime before but the storyline it sounds really good. I am going to try to get hold of the manga.

But it really depends on how much they made. Definitely the official stores will have a higher chance of restock.

ahh i was in tokyo last year and i went to sunshine city but it was a weekend and it was raining so it was soooo busy inside that i didnt take proper time to look around and i missed so much of these stores :(

Hi I watch anime mostly on Netflix, Amazon Prime and local TV channels✨
do you know why all the shops were closed when i visited during March 2023, 1 of the weekdays in the noon, only the gachapon shop was open...
I’m not sure why they were closed around March but I looked online and it said they were closed for maintenance on 2/27 (mon) 2023.

Nah it just generic going by the book/recipe. More local small stalls can mix experiment and make their own recipes. Thats how it usually goes going to a restaurant opposed to going to a stall joint down the street.
