- Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous | What Are the Best Classes?
In this Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous article, I want to discuss what the Best Class for you is. Now that WotR has finally released in full, a lot of people have been asking the questions: “What Class should I play?”, and “What is the best Class for me?”. While it’s not an easy question to answer there are some ways to narrow it down for you.

I love the channel and the community, but the EGS can go to hell. Sorry.
Hard pass but glad your getting paid! :D
I appreciate your content but you really should not be taking bribes from Epic. I have no problem with Epic trading and competing with with Steam fair and square but until they stop with this bribery and corruption, exclusives etc, they are a no go shop.
Epic games is gross

My biggest challenge when picking a class in a new game, is not knowing which companions Im going to want to use and not wanting to overlap with them.
I just started. Built a Zen Archer, had an npc in a paper campaign that I really liked. Lo and behold, within 20 minutes, you get a zen archer.
That's too real lol
Also, you can re-train your character as soon as you are done with the prologue, from race to class, so if you feel you chose wrong or want to try new classes, you aren't stuck as that class. I wish i had realized this before i started over like 6 times lol
Yeah I was really shocked that it allows you to change so much. It also feels like it may be a bug / unintentional that you can also just change your alignment at will. Would almost prefer a slightly more RP friendly version which didn't permit race / alignment changes.
@@tomd9819 Yeah also the mounts indoors am not overly keen on.
Oh...my...fucking...god....seriously!?!?!?@ I've restarted the game like atleast 6 or 7 times!!!!
@@tomd9819 Worth noting that this re-train feature is a part of difficulty settings, you cannot have it enabled on daring (4/7) or higher
@@tomd9819 nah this is actually really good to be able to do after the prolong. it gives you some time to test out a class and then try something else if you dont like it without starting completely over. thats really good.
Do you really need to ask if we want more guides? Of course the answer is YES :)
I know right! I only watch fextra guides! Is there anywhere else for the best guides😊
Agreed do more
Every guide is to collect all the pokemon spells and catch'em all. Because the main character is a trainer of useless companion
for those who arent happy with their main class or just messed up like i did theres a way to reroll your main and your party so u dont have to star all over like i did
first u have to Enable Character Retrain on the dificulty options second u have to reach Defender’s Rest(u reach defenders rest in like 4 to 6 hours of gameplay after completing the shield maze)from there look for hilor(its close to irabeth) and select the option i need training, the first reroll its free
Really looking forward to playing this over the coming weeks, more guides would be awesome!
Yes, definitely more guides please! They’re always excellent.
I spent the first 4 hours just staring at the character creation part, because I simply don't know which class to choose. Each class sounds tasty.
I would DEFINITELY like you to do a full guide to the classes in this game. You're one of my instant go-to sites/channels when I start a new CRPG and WotR is so deep especially to a newcomer. You videos would save me so much time and they're always helpful
REALLY REALLY HOPE YOU WOULD DO A VIDEO ABOUT EVERY ARCHETYPE OF CLASSES... I AM REALLY EXCITED FOR IT IF YOU DO... I AM GONNA WATCH ALL OF IT
Easy now with the caps there
I have a lot of experience in these games, but I still love these guides. They really help me with my indecision and help me put together stuff. Definitely would love that full comprehensive guide!
I used a Melee/Sorcerer build in Pathfinder Kingmaker on Unfair it wasn't too difficult once you got out of chapter one. InEffect has a similar build up that's made just for Lich mythic path because Lich is the only path that expands the sorcerer spellbook. It's as follows:
Role: Melee Sorcerer
Race: Human
Deity: Abadar/Urgathoa
Alignment: Lawful Good†
Skills: Mobility 3, Arcana 5††, Persuasion, Athletics
Bloodline: Acid Dragon (Green, Black, or Copper)†††
† Any lawful will do, but you will miss out on bestow grace if you are not Lawful Good. Lawful Evil is more roleplaying-appropriate, though.
†† Make sure you have this 5 by the time you are Level 5.
††† Can be of any Draconic bloodline, but the small amount of resistance you get from it is most beneficial as acid. We don’t care about the spell damage part.

Regardless of what focus you pick, go with the staff until Level 11.
Start Lawful Good (LG), make every evil decision under the sun to roleplay the Lich thing, and use an Atonement Scroll if you ever want to use Divine Grace. Background doesn’t really matter.
Does somewhere around 400-500 damage per round (DPR) by teens, not counting Attacks of Opportunity (AoO).
What would you change to play a melee Sorcerer that was good, like an Azata mythic path?
im currently playing a melee sorcerer into arcane trickster and eltritch knight so iv got loads of sneak attack damage ok bab and i can fight melee when my mc runs out of magic for the day so i can hold off on wasting time resting
Yes we want class guides
Very helpful, as usual. Many thanks :) (i'm having a lot of fun with a Cavelier - Disciple of the Pike build atm)
What we really need (or at least I do) is a guide on Mythic Paths, and what classes/subclasses leans most into which one.
For example, if I wanna be a Lich, what would be the best way to make my character at the start of the game? Or if my aim is a Demon, then what?
You’re going to hate me but I think we need full mythic rundowns from our boy, Fextralife! 👍🏽
I think you're right :)
Going through all the archetypes is a bit much, but a selection of builds and archetypes you personally enjoy or find interesting would be cool.
same thing that applies in the RPG game applies in WoTR. Have a concept first, THEN go through character creation. It took me 5-10 minutes to make my first charcater mainly because I already had a concept in mind (and have played the RPG for 5 years now).
I wanted to Tranform into a dragon, so I went sorcerer with ok strength, ok dex and high charsima. 6 levels in sorcerer, 4 levels in dragon disiple.
and now my STR is 28 at level 10 (items, stat changes and DD), which makes me the strongest member in my party by far (also, most of them use dex anyway...).
Spoiler:

I discovered that a mythic path transforms you into a dragon anyway... so so much for my build... well, I'm now open to stay with Ainu, best girl!
Witch Classes are the best depends a lot on if you play in real-time with pause, or on turn based. So i have some different views on what are the best classes, since i tend to play on both modes depending on the encounter.
The best Martial classes, Aka the guys with weapons, i would recommend: Bloodrager (A Barbarian but better), Magus (can handle a lot of things), Slayer and Rouge as a flanking buddy.
The best archers, aka the guys with ranged physical damage: Ranger and Fighter. they both do the same thing, the Fighter gets more feats and is a lot straight forward, the Ranger gets a lot of uniqe spells to buff himself with to make up the difference, Ranger is best in Turn based, while Fighter is best Real time. Shoutout to Kineticist with Physical damage.
The best arcane blaster: Sorcerer and Kineticist. Both has a lot of fuel, sorcerer is better for utility and has a bloodline that increases damage (+animal companion with Sylvian sorc), Kineticist never run out of juice and are in general the best damage dealer.
The best Healer/Support: on harder difficulties healing in combat is a waste, but out of combat you can get someone who has Channel energy, typical Clerics and Oracles. But as support a Mystic Theurge if you know how to build one is without a doubt the best support, You can go with Wizard/Cleric to get a faster Mystic Theurge, but a worse ability score build, or Oracle/Sorcerer to scale off Charisma, Get enduring spell and you can have all the buffs on all of your party for the whole day, then let him sit in the back and look at the fight from afar. At higher difficulties Its much better to negate damage then to heal it, a Communal Stone skin in an average party negates almost 1000 damage, witch equals a heal of 1000hp, and a blur on all of the party negates 20% of the damage taken, witch gets better the longer you play. A Mystic Theurge will never be as strong as a Wizard or an Cleric, but he will have the utility and support ability of both of them, an Alternative is to split the buffs among multiple party members and make them a little less DPS focused at the cost of some support, depending on your composission this might be worse or better, up to you.
And Shoutout to Bard, don't build them just for support, but their bardic performance is a relatively uniqe source of attack and damage, so if you don't have anywhere else you get it from, its a worthy addition.
And the best Tanks: Bloodragers, Paladins and Monks. You can get an animal companion from Bloodragers and Paladins, so they make great mounted units, and Monks can reach the highest Touch AC in the game if you build them right, at higher difficulties having a unit that just wont die gives you a lot of breathing room and let you do your thing.
And last off, if you are new and playing on Normal, do what you want, play the build you think looks cool and don't bother trying to minmax, Character builds in this game matter more then the class themselves, if you want a god healer sorcerer you can make it, if you want a front line tank wizard, you can do that, remember, this is a game and play in a way you find fun.
wow so much variety! I'm looking forward to give it a try!
Clever guide. This helped me a lot. Thanks!
Yes please give us full guides on each class!! I love this content
Absolutely loving this game and the configuration options...
Thanks for the advice! I feel a lot less overwhelmed now.
Will be buying this, super pumped up after watching the videos you put out
Nice to see.
One other major aspect I’d like to see addressed is what classes/character types mesh well with available NPC companions. I know there’s a variety available here, but it can be frustrating to settle on a character type only to find a recruitable npc fills exactly the same role in a game like this.
Great point
There's really nothing wrong with multiple characters "filling the same role" in this game though. It doesnt make anybody useless, or just means you have extra of that "resource". Plus, doubling up, unless you are doing an undersized party, is basically guaranteed to happen. Big stupid fighter, arcane caster, divine caster, skill monkey are the traditional roles for D&D and Pathfinder. Notice how thats 4 roles and there are 6 slots...
Why would you not want extra healing, extra damage, extra control, extra buffs, etc?
This is very helpful and adds value. I dunno.... Here's a few things to consider about multiclassing and or class splitting. I learned long ago that trying to be good at multiple things often translates into being good at none of them. For example I don't get the value in a 50/50 ranged attacker who can also serve in melee. Either you're a tank or not and your tanks will serve you WELL. Be mindful that ranged attackers can easily be interrupted when in the wrong place and or too close. To me, your best bet is in focusing on your skills and abilities within simpler classes that serve key core roles within your party- mage for mega damage, priest for healing/resurrection, thief for perception, trap disarming, locking picking, etc, tanks to absorb the brunt and draw powerful enemies toward them, and on and on.... For example you can develop a couple of core competencies within each class that will serve you specifically- i.e. a ranged attack for something like a Barbarian. In POE I used to put the Barbarian directly in front of my Mage when I noticed the enemy had powerful ranged attacks but primarily used as a tank. You'll get to 80-90% of what the exotic classes claim to address just by good skills and abilities mgmt without having to guess and or manage one more thing, coupled with using the terrain to your advantage in every battle.
Thanks 4 the vid. It helps a lot :)
Great video, can't wait to make my character and start...I just can't decide..so these are great videos thx.
I went ahead and am progressing through giving everything a try!
Would love to see a class guide from you, even if it’s not super in-depth and it’s only 5-15 minutes per class
Your content is on another level. Thank you so much for all your hard work and information you provide to us all :)
Can't wait to get into this game with the help of your videos to enjoy it even more.
Strong work Fex, I always enjoy your guides, and appreciate all the hard work and detail you put in them. I started a bard, but now that I know you made a guide for that class, I'm definitely going to check it out. Thumbs up as always.
His Faith build got me 'over the finish line' in my most recent Demon Soul's Playthrough.
Yes, more class guides please!
Yes class guides or more overviews of classes would be great man. All new to me
I’m currently playing a dhamphyr that’s going to be a death knight. 6 in wizard, 4 in hellknight signifier for the reduced spell chance fail in heavy, and 10 in eldritch knight to round it out. It’s working well so far
I honestly can't wait for the in depth class guides
Defo would love to see my in depth guides for each class.
I was having a hard time choosing my class until I saw the cavalier. A dinosaur mount? Yes please.
Yes, tha sounds...cool, but in reality its SUCKS. When you realize you only can mount if you pet is 1 higher size of you and 80% of pets only grow to large in level 7. Well if tyou gave patience to wait until lv7 that start going to worse when you realize you mount dont give any sh*** bonus relevant to you and when you go to combat you mount get 2 or 3 hits and its dead, the result is you drop from and get prhone and get 4,5 oportunitie hits. Its sucks but sounds cool.
@@alanjarremonteirodebrito2337 Play a small size character
@@alanjarremonteirodebrito2337 and mounted combat is only viable when you can charge a lot but wayfinding still buggy as hell and does not workt half the time :/
I enjoy the fact that you take time to ask what the best class FOR THE VIEWER to play is. Most other people would be like "This is the best class, if you play anything else, you're bad and dumb and should rot in a box" (that's just adlibbing, but for the most part, that's just how it be sometimes). So... Yeah. Appreciate the time taken to consider preferences and the like.
The new alchemist preservationist is incredibly powerful. Alchemist bombs are one of the best abilities in the game (powerful aoe damage with a ton of powerful special effects when you get special bombs) and preservationist can summon creatures without really sacrificing anything important, they also do level 9 summons even when their spell slots go only up to level 6 at max level. I'm using one for my next play through on a harder difficulty.
i was after a samurai like build, so i would apreciatte options if you dont mind fextra... keep up with the great build content!! :)
Thanks for the video think I’ll give cavalier a try sounds simple, but a little more interesting than just going as a fighter
If you make those guides ill be watching them now and in March when it releases on Console and I can play!
Definitely do a class breakdown. I use Nerd Commando for that too, but the more the better.
I'm probably just weird, but I tend to make my characters based on either the portrait I pick or the Mythic Path that I choose. This game has SO many options, and I just wanna play all of them. Also, I can't wait for the Fextralife wiki to be updated, it's a great resource of information for various games.
quick question... does the Elemental Bloodline Arcana (water) apply to Winter Witch passives that increase all Cold spells?
like if i have the water elemental bloodline from sorc, and use the passive to change all energy damage to match my water element, such as using burning hands to do cold damage. would the passives from winter witch effect this - such as Unearthly Cold and Freezing Cold.
Playing a cruoromancer on my first playthrough atm, having a blast. gonna be going lich when I have the option.
silly question but where did you find the tiefling portrait on this video main pic?its amazing
I think the main thing for me is knowing how the character plays later in the game, as in the early game you can just test it out and respec.
Also if any classes have RP-elements or special dialogue or events, that would be good to know. What class suits what mythic path is also a question.
My first playthrough was easy, Ive always loved wizards and evil characters so I became a lich. Im looking at this video now for my second playthrough, in conjunction of trying to decide what mythic path to go for the second time.
How is XP / leveling in this one compared to kingmaker? One of the issues I had with kingmaker was that while it was fun to plan out a build, you didn't really get to see a lot of the high level stuff until the game was mostly over. Does this game suffer from the same issue, or will you be hitting higher levels earlier on in the game so that you can fully enjoy your build with more than 5 minutes left in the game?
Exactly!!!! The key to a good class is how they play from levels 1-10! What particular features the class gains after level 13 is mostly meaningless, as those features will only come into play in
@@Zayphar In kingmaker, you could take less party members to get more xp. I tended to do a solo character for the first part of the game, in which you hit lvl 8 before you fight the stag lord and gain the kingdom. Another common playstyle was to take 4 party members which has you hit 20 with all of them at about the 75% mark.
@@Alex.Holland The problem with playing solo is that it requires you to play a character that has lockpicking and a high Charisma/Persuasion/Perception/CON in order to get the most out of roleplaying the game. Also, the feats you gain in levels 13-20 don't usually change the way you play the character in a significant way(depending on the class/sub-class features). Your character play is 80%+ defined by the abilities/feats you gain before you hit levels 7-9.
This returns to the central question: Which character builds give the best roleplay & gameplay outcomes based on levels 1-10?
@@Zayphar You aren't wrong, kingmaker, and indeed most crpgs, tend to suffer from the same types of issues. I hope you figure out something that works for you, I don't know enough about the new game to have an opinion.
You hit level 5-6 in the end of the first act. The table top version takes characters to level 20 / mythic 10, while most of the other adventure paths only took characters to 16 or 17.
Want the best class? Go Cleric or Oracle and go angel path(Oracle and clerics merge their caster levels with Angel). Build it however you want just make sure to get extend feat , mythic extend feat, enduring spells and greater enduring spells and spell penetration. Get any buff to last for 24 hours...it’s silly really plus caster level 30(damage from spells without a cap gets ridiculous, you pretty much destroy anything with your holy fire spells)
I spent about 5 hours trying to pick a class, just to get it wrong and restart an hour later with another class
I'm thinking of playing a monk/sorcerer hybrid to build a melee sorcerer to add some variety in combat but if I chose monk first, sorcerer second, would I still be able to get draconian bloodline?
Hope you do a guide on all the classes love the content ❤️
I feel like the information I need most is related to party composition. If I focus on a party of good or evil companions, what are the holes I'll need to fill? Do I need a melee character because the evil party doesn't get a second tank until later in the game? That kind of thing...
@@jeremyv12 Yeah, that's basically what I did. Just made a 2H Fighter, since stupid DPS is never the wrong choice
@@rockandrolljew89 I made a 2 handed fighter in Kingmaker and wrecked faces. I preferred him over a Barbarian because you are fatigued from rage half the time with a Barbarian, meaning you actually perform worse. Not a problem with the 2 handed fighter.
I'm having a blast with a monk- 3 attacks per round w/ quarterstaff +2 at level 7, plus crane style and defensive fighting so I have AC of 23 (+4 more against whatever target I'm attacking) which makes it a blast to play. Plus, the monk archer you get in the game as a companion deals ridiculous amounts of damage so that's another great feature of the class w/ a different archetype.
You class guides helped me finish Pillars of Teternity 2 several times, this will be no different!
I loved that game, but the loading drove me crazy...
Please put together full class guides, would be much appreciated!
Sorry, but this was not enough information to call a "guide."
I vote for more guides! Thank you!
Not to mention the circles under difficulty in the class selection description denote how complex or difficult the class is to play which is especially helpful to newcomers.
I watch your guides even for games I don’t own. So yea.. make guides and I will watch them :D
I would definitely love to see some guides because I would like to play a monk specifically a scaled Monk but when I hear people explain the monks they all go off of like wisdom and charisma and all this stuff and I'm so used to monks going off of either strength or dexterity so just kind of throws me off and I would love to know more about the fighter with the dragon heritage people always just gloss over it (you get dragon blood that's all you need to know)
Scaled first is really simple, punch using strength and charisma is everything else including AC bonus and Ki stuff. So main stat STR second best stat charisma.
@@BarokaiRein Yeah that class as pure very good without mixing.
@SmashStomp Inc Simpler dragon is go sorc or wizard but give your caster some str and con. You can use so many buffs n spells means you have n dragon whose spells are almost impossible to resist. (Creatures are dead before you need to get into combat). Its a bit of an uber class really.
(You can mix with other classes but still very solid as pure maybe harder diffs you might need more ac etc)
@SmashStomp Inc Its not meant as a front line tank thats what you main tank is for and with buffs you can still hit ok. Its your main caster just beefier as you are in dragon form. (You want extend spell and spell penetration etc)
I used a Sorc prev game and worked just fine. You use spells to incapacitate before entering combat...if you enemy is stunned etc then doesnt matter if your bab is low. You can also use fire shield and touch spells...(touch Ac easier to hit a lot of mobs)
Again harder diffs maybe not viable. (As in higher resists so yeah a Higher Ac dragon might be better).
Oh and you will get the dragon form quicker as pure caster so enemies will be lower level anyways.
P.s If you want to be melee and front line sure there are better ways to do the dragon. But you wont get as many spells!
Put another way no reason for your caster not to be in dragon form. Am pretty sure you can cast any of your spells😜
@@MauriceTarantulas "Works just fine" is one thing. A good build is another. In an objective sense, the scaled fist/sorc/DD build is just a more competent, stronger build in a solo environment.
Personally I'd really like if you did a class guide for every class. I really struggled when trying to play kingmaker because I had no idea what I was doing when leveling up.
More of this please! Do It!!!
I would love to do a charisma build - which class would you suggest other than the obvious paladin and sorcerer
i would like to focus on a damage dealer spell caster something of a glass canon what you think wold be a good option ?
Try a exploiter wizard, it has an arcane pool that increase Spell and penetration
My preference has always been Paladin 2 / Rogue 2 / Sorcerer 16. Adding in the Mythic paths makes it a bit more complex, but this basic three class multiclass can pretty much handle all traps, locks, and saves without much trouble.
As someone who hasn't played Kingmaker, would you recommend playing that first to understand the game mechanics better? Or would it be ok to start with this version of the game? I'm asking purely from a gameplay & mechanics perspective. Not story.
I do believe it is easier to understand the mechanics better in WotR. If you haven't played either game, and aren't familiar with Pathfinder, it's a bit easier to learn, but not remarkably so.
I'd love to play a martial healer but not the classical cleric/paladin. Would it be possibleto play some kind of bare-handed fighter with healing/support spells and no alignment restrictions ?
Take druid and multiclass 1 or 2 levels of monk. Druid uses Wisdom for their spells, and Monk adds Wisdom to their AC and gets unarmed attacks for free. You won't be the best healer, but you get a ton of crowd control spells, and it has a fairly lax alignment restriction. Punch people with a flurry of fists, or turn into a massive beast that can still cast their spells in animal form.
Quick question. I noticed one of the prestige classes you scrolled through was called the Winter Witch. I love using frost magic in games so that class seems right up my alley. But given that its called Winter Witch do I need to play as a female character to use it? Are there any other requirements I need to keep in mind so I don't lose the ability to unlock it?
Witch in Pathfinder was never gender locked, and neither is Winter Witch. You need 5 ranks of Knowledge (Arcana), 3rd level Divine/Arcane spells, and something that gives you the Cold trait to take it. So at minimum, you need to be Level 5 to Prestiege into it.
Good points here. Even though i'm a veteran PnP player, and CRP- player since the first Baldur's Gate, the sheer number of classes and archetypes they implemented here is staggering. Caught me completely off guard. This is truly an upgrade from Kingmaker, which was already one of my favorite CRPGs of the last several years. In this day and age, when most sequels offer less then the originals, this is a welcome if somewhat intimidating feature. I can only imagine how first times must feel. Fortunately for me, this time around, i already knew what classes i won't play (the ones is usually do), so that narrowed my character creation to only 4 hours! :D
It's slightly more in line with the Neverwinter Night titles (DnD 3.5e), but Pathfinder goes even beyond that. Not all subclasses or prestige classes are good though, mind you.
@@Bruced82 yeah, our latest PnP campaign is based on PF first edition, so this comes as icing to a cake. Especially some of the origin feats they implemented. No game ever did that before. Running a Cavalier BTW in WoTR :D
I have some options. Paladin, Magus (sword saint (scribe scroll to spellbook or sword scion (spontanious caster like sorcerer), Sorcerer, Wizard or Monk.
PALADIN, done. Also yes please all classes guides hell yea.
I wanna ask what sub classes do you think fit with cleric - crusader? Thank you
Oracle with starting revelation battle and then angle mythic path and second revelation to be nature you could get a pet to act as a meat shield, you could attack with your weapons and wear heavy armor and also you could use magic. One of the best way for any beginner to play this game as you will become op by Act 3.
Im playing Thundercaller bard, and I´m loving it. Being able to stun enemies on masse is great, and most enemies have no resistence to sonic damage, surprinsgly.
Good job, you picked one of the actual good beginner classes unlike the crap mentioned here.
High charisma classes are best for the player in my opinion.
yes please would love a more indeath class info
so, can we just agree, that he should do a dnd campaign , as DM \m/ ..
regardless, great video, as i just started playing this,-. not super newbi, but it helped and clear a few things, so thanks - great video
keep up the good work *
and full video on all classes , sure - if you got time and such , i am in * +1
kingmaker my best was monk ,but now i want a necro or dps that has the dragon pet divine, is there a way to play necro thats not evil ?
I think you could dip into eldritch scion and take an elemental bloodline ascendency for crit and sneak attack immunity
Or dip into crossblooded sorcerer and take bloodline ascendency for both undead and an elemental bloodlines
I would like to ask a question:Which two handed weapon is best for a 2h human fighter? Elven curved? Scythe? Falchion? Fauchard?
Full class exploration is v interesting to me
Would add : spontaneous casters (like Sorcerers) are the best for new players, so they can get to try out tons of spells without needing to choose them when resting!
Please can you do a comprehensive guide? I’m a pathfinder veteran but the classes I love to play don’t seem to match up with WotR. Thank you!
Hi, im thinking on buying this game. I've played Divinity original sin 2 and recently playing Baldurs Gate 3. Is this game something like those two?
I'm enjoying bard. Having someone who supports everyone makes them feel like a true leader of a group.
I've been playing a Magus Sword Saint just because it is a tribute to the Kenshi/Mage a popular duel class from the Baldurs Gate games.
@@alexoelkers2292 Sword saint is busted, king of DPS in the pathfinder games so great choice haha
Sword Scion Magus is really cool too if you want essentially the same as Sword Saint but with spontaneous casting instead of scribing spells. Plus you get to chose a bloodline.
@@orarinnsnorrason4614 also to add to that the eldritch scion doesn’t have as good of defenses in the early game as the sword saint but they pretty much even put by the end game. Go sword saint if you want to be a fish who’s better with weapons than magic and scion vice versa
I would love a class deep dive!
So far I’m a lvl 3 Cruoromancer/Slayer Executioner….with 19 hours into the game and just completing the library 😂. Plz more guides and content on this tho !
Never played but this looks like a fun game. Is it turn based like divinity original sins?
I would like to see an Oracle build
Simplest to play is Elemental Specialist / Azata.
On anything below Core it's basically faceroll. Also you get a pet that hits like a truck from Azata.
You need to understand the class mechanics and the "Ascendent Element" mythic ability, though.
The main boss in both Pathfinder games from Owlcat is choosing the perfect class/build that you'll be happy with.
And I say that as an experienced pnp Pathfinder player.
Even I had a hard time deciding, especially with Kingmaker. I kind of knew what I wanted to play in WotR.
Any suggestions for a 2H sword/axe character? Preq:
1.Heavy Martial focus (don't mind some buffs/empowers but otherwise heavy focus on might)
2. No allignment restrictions
3. Good survivalbility
4. Heavy armor
I was thinking either some type of barbarian, cavalier, crusader cleric or 2h fighter. Any thoughts?
2hfighter is an existing subclass. I would recommend mutation warrior or mad dog barb for a 2h brawler with some extra oomph.
I’d love to see more builds
Always love more theory crafting build videos! It is time consuming though.
I am playing a bloddrager, i am little lost with the shaman and witch classes, should you multi them? Maybe something like some points in sorcerer so have a bloodline that goes up at the same time 🤔
Bloodrager is a class you want to go full 20 in. Do not multi class out of Bloodrager.
@@nocteexmortis979 thanks, will do.
If you run two Divine Guardian Paladins, each of them will get an ability at level 2 called Divine Troth. Have them cast it on each other and as long as they're tanking next to each other they can give the other tank +4 bonus to AC. Couple that with Divine Grace, which adds your charisma bonus to your saving throws, all the immunities Paladins get at the extra defensive perks in the Divine Guardian class progression, they're almost indestructible. If you go Aasimar you can take the Wings perk after level 10 which adds even more to your AC.
I know that you're giving up a slot for an extra tank, but it's so worth it when inevitability the game throws enemies at you from behind or to intercept the enemy that ignores your tank and is heading for your squishy healer or DPS.
The only downside is that you lose access to Paladin spellcasting, but honestly Paladin spells aren't anything that a Cleric can't do better. You still get positive energy channeling, lay on hands and Divine Weapon Bond/Mount.
But here's the real kicker. If you make your main character one of those Divine Guardians and take the Angel mythic path, you'll get spellcasting with some actual good spells.
If you're just looking for the strongest class that would be arcanist. Objectively Spellcasters are simply stronger than any martial class and at every even level arcanist outclasses all other Spellcaster classes in terms of magical might thanks to the exploits. And the reason for not just being best at all levels is because other prepared casters are better at uneven levels due to having higher level spell slots.
Now since this is a videogame it ofc has million combat encounters scattered around every map so I personally decided to play a wind mystery oracle instead because just like clerics they're good in melee and for the first 8 levels you're actually concerned with running out of spell slots. Also when they do start spamming spells they can just spend all their slots on stuff like call lightning storm etc rather than just having one domain slot per level for non-cleric spells.
Basically I picked convenience of not struggling in the early game and still being strong in the late game over being strongest thing out there. Also I like being able to actually wield some of those cool magic weapons you find.
Play whatever you think is most fun,but if you want your player character to be the strongest in the group you're gonna want to either have access to 9th level spells or play a kineticist with both air and water elements. Not even kidding, with certain combos those take everything to stunlock city.
If you know what you’re doing with bloodlines, second bloodline feat, maybe ascendent bloodline, then I would argue sorcerer is more powerful
Especially when there are items that just give spontaneous casters spells
@@kellysamuel3383 It's entirely possible that sorcerer might be bit better in this game but I'd have to see someone do a lot of testing or test it myself. I haven't been able to go through everything like looking through every single mythic path and how they would work together with existing classes.
I did notice that there are A LOT of items for spontaneous casters so it seems like they're doing their best to buff those for this game.
I always pick a tank for my first run in these games n then a sneaky character when I’m used to playing. Nothing like avoiding damage while dealing big sneak attack dmg.
