- On select Microwave models you can silence the microwave sound tone by pressing and holding the number 2 button for about 5 seconds. You can then turn the sound tone back on by pressing and holding the number two button. Be sure to consult your use and care guide and owners manual for additional information regarding your microwave model

If it doesn't work try having the door open and pressing the button. Mine only did that if the door was open to be able to toggle on and off the chimes
Thank you!! that worked
Worked on my 2003 Whirlpool- thank you so much!
How do you get the turntable to turn one way and then on the next setting of time turned the opposite direction?
Works perfect on whirlpool!!
what model? i can't get it to work on mine
You’re a godsend
THANKS! That did it!!!!!
Thank you!
You are a lifesaver 😊 tysm
This actually took a lot of stress away, my life already feels better. Thank you.
None of the recommended tricks seem to work for me. I suspect that the older ones may not have any silencing feature, or would require disassembly to quiet it down some by modifying the buzzer with goop or perhaps thick tape...
Not really looking forward to having to replace my over-the-stove, "built-in" Maytag microwave (made back in 1996 and came with the house, it has been solid!). New ones are like $400+
THANK YOU.
Great!!!! Thx!!
THANKS!
so freakin easy, ty
What's the name of the microwave?
Thank youu
Workeddddd
Doesnt work with salton microwaves
Did not work on Kitchenaide microwave 😢
It doesn't work on quick start models
doesnt work for Panasonic NNSC64MW
Does anything work?
Wait, its option six on the menu
On a Panasonic, there should be a function button. You want to press that and then the number six. After that press two to turn off the beep.
thank you i was about to lose my mind
My microwave doesn’t have a number pad
Didn't work for me, but I have a Panasonic Inverter. Panasonic has so many different models that there about 10 different ways to mute them, and I'm not kidding. Mine came without an instruction manual, but I finally found the trick online - plug it in, press START twice, press CLOCK. Display will say on or off indicating sound. I was about to return it to Costco until I found the mute sequence. Why do they make them so freaking loud?
That particular microwave has a much worse problem-a door latch that breaks very easily. I ordered a couple of replacements (kind of a pain to install), but ended up scrapping the microwave after the third failure.
@@Reactivelight Mine is from Costco, so ... easy return if I need to. I don't like the door latch; it's hard to push the latch button without jiggling the whole unit, and mine is sitting on a wire rack. I prefer the models with door handles.
Have the same microwave and the trick doesn’t work :(
Have door open if it doesn't work. Mine I had to have door open to do it
Tried with door open, still didn't work
Same

Did not work
Doesn't work
it's just like the dam dryer buser 😢
Still helping people one year later! Thanks a bunch I hate that sound!
Not on my westinghouse.
I would love to use my first wheel to make everything from espresso cups, candlesticks, wine cups, bowls, and small bud vases. We have been experimenting with making clay from our backyard dirt and it's been surprisingly successful!
Did you intend to put this comment under a microwave video?
@@urkiddingme6254 Maybe he uses his microwave to fire clay. 🙂
@@Reactivelight That would be cool, actually. Avoid all the heat and expense of the firing oven.
If it doesn't work on your microwave (no ideas I've ever found work for my Oster), unplug it, remove the cover, and cut one of the wires to the beeper (or, twist the beeper off with pliers if it's directly soldered to the circuit board). Be careful not to touch anything else inside the machine while doing this, as the high voltage capacitor can hold a charge for a while.
im whopped, i didint work
I hate that sound
i don't know how people can stand it very annoying
Open the door and do it if it doesn’t work
Total BS. I tried it and it just put 2 minutes on the clock and started. Scam. Thumbs down.
"Scam".... How much were you scammed out of? Also, who upvoted this ridiculous comment?
There is probably a options or clock button that you toggle
This is BS
