(i think TDK is actually, like, ONE of the best movies in a decade, not just when it comes to superhero movies. but when thinking about only superhero movies, then the Avengers is definitely second, then) too bad The Dark Knight Rises was nowhere near as good as this one...but eh, how could they make a sequel better than the perfection that is, The Dark Knight? lol

We know there's nothing after these credits, but we stay anyway because of the perfect soundtrack.
I hate after credit scenes because they are cheating people out of the experience of closure with the music.
The Dark Knight did not have happy ending technically, but it left a great impression on me to this day. And the soundtrack really does help the story.

Neither did Terminator 2. Yeah T-1000 died but T-800 sacrificed himself and that shit just hurts to see but humanity in that world was saved cuz I would like that movie to end the franchise.
I find it a tragic, but still inspirational ending.
It's about doing what's right, even if the very same people you're trying to protect will hunt you for it. Even if nobody ever knows about the ultimate sacrifice you've made.
It's the kind of stuff that sets people in the right direction for their lives. It's the level of art that resonates throughout generations.

5:30 to 6:30 - I walked up the stairs together with a completely silent audience after having watched this movie. It was a pretty depressing ending, but hearing this part in the end credits gave us some hope again for our beloved protagonist.

I have never in my life seen a movie with an ending as heroic and proud as this one. Any superhero can save the day by sacrificing their lives or giving up what they love, but something about how Batman sacrificed his self worth, his dignity, his reputation, and everything he stood for just to do what was right has my heart in swells EVERY FREAKING time I watch this masterpiece.
What really hits home for me, during that ending is when Bruce/Batman is saying to Gordon: “I killed those people. That’s what I can be.” And Gordon’s response was “No, no you can’t! You’re not!” because he knows exactly what the Batman stands for.. As do we all. But then Bruce’s “self-sacrifice” to say “I’m whatever Gotham needs me to be.” really hits the the nail on the head as to what he is willing to do/be for the city.

I don't think we'll ever get a Batman movie like this one. The score, with Nolan directing, the fantastic acting from the cast, and the dark tones make it the best superhero movie ever, never mind best DC film.

The Batman is definitely on the same level. Its a completely different take and style so hard to compare but when talking about great movies The Dark Knight and The Batman are both masterpieces.

10 years ago today. I remember how much fun I had watching this at the midnight show. I left the theater so overwhelmed with what I had just seen I did not even know what to believe. It is a cinema experience for a generation and one that I will never forget.

This movie already belongs to the list of the master pieces in film's history. I do not think that any other film of some hero deserves to be in that lists; though spider man II (2004) is not so far but still is out of the list; but i think that a movie like TDK is totally unique and I am sure that in the next 100 years we will not see a film about a hero with the quality of TDK....that's all; I know that BB and TDKR are good but any of them reach the level from TDK...and probably any other movie will reach that level in our entire history!

Just so some of you people know, heath ledger did not commit suicide. He was taking pills after finishing the dark knight because he grew to close to his portrayal of the joker and was too into it. He took the pills o relieve stress. Unfortunately, he overdosed and passed away. He had a wife and daughter to take care of. He would never turn on his family. RIP Heath
