Watch Conor McGregor with UFC correspondent Megan Olivi after McGregor suffered his first UFC loss at UFC 196 when he was submitted in the second round by Nate Diaz.
After the fight Conor was humble and i respect that he hugged Nate congratulated him and let him know he will be their first thing in the morning for kids jiu jitsu lessons. Hail the 209.
+Film Critters Sarcasm bro. Nate out boxed him took like 5 of those left hooks that apparently no one can take. If he didn't shoot that takedown he was gonna get TKO'd
+Linux4UnMe When Niaz used his BJJ, McGregor had no energy. He tried to takedown Nate in desperation. So it's not really correct to say BJJ was the factor this fight, Diaz's boxing and chin was not over rated however.
His ground game isn't relevant, he doesn't take his opponents to the ground naturally. Although, on that, he hasn't been even able to showcase his ground game because the two times he's went to the ground was one against a high level wrestler who took him down a few times and a black belt bjj guy when he had 0 energy so wasn't able to defend or do anything on the ground.
+Shaun Kennedy (SDK) COnnor had zero energy? Stop making excuses for the outcome of the fight. Nate was only afew more blows away from taking connors jaw off so connor shot for the take down, now look to a very recent media interview were connor says those he fights panic wrestle when they taste his power. well when someone whos a real man fights him he crumbles. Im glad hes going back to the midget division.
+AsianPan00dles you learn more in defeat than you ever do from victory. I think that'll apply here too, McGregor looks at his skills honestly and knows how to improve. Last time he lost he followed it up with a massive win streak. Not worried about his future. A loss is more dangerous to those who have never lost before (possibly Ronda Rousey, we'll see). He's been humbled, he has no excuses. I think he sees that he'll never be the welterweight champion.
There are a lot of things to respect about Conor in this fight. The fact he took it on short notice (unlike Jones refusing to fight Chael), the fact he did it at 170, the fact he is humble in defeat, he didn't make excuses (like Aldo) & the fact he didn't hide away after (like Ronda)
MJ yes Jones refused to fight Chael on about a weeks notice and the PPV was cancelled. They did fight later on and as you say it was an easy fight for Jon.
+Murray Herts sorry but conor walks at 170 it was very easy for him to take the fight at that weight diaz also walks in 170s there was hardly any size advantages in terms of weight. conor is simply not skillfull enough to defeat diaz
+Martin Sal True but you gotta understand this conor wasnt aiming for 170 in the fight with dos anjos meaning he was probably about 160-162 pounds normaly week before the contest he would do a lot of cardio to get the right weight however now he didnt do cardio and instead of that he bulked up i think everyone knows how good diaz brothers are in cardio they can go all day long conor knew that aswell thats why he tried to finish him early but couldnt instead of that he missed because of distance he threw powershots instead of accurate shots and then he got rocked because he tought nate is hurt this fight could have gone either way conor just got too confident without cardio 2:30 before end of 2nd round he tried to finish nate and that was his only chance honestly even if he would have survived the 2nd round nate would get either decision or tko because conor would be completly gased out.
Im not a Conor fan, but i do respect him for stepping up to this fight. Everthing u said is on point. i just wish more champions would be more than willing to take such big risks.
+King Conor Goddamit! GOOD FUCKING MORNING! Gotta do whatever it takes to shock the body! Go 2 or 3 weight classes to constantly progress and grow. Trick the mind and body..right babe? One day you may... -Rich Piana

George hid after losing to Matt Sera. He was utterly depressed, and didn't want to face anyone. He said that when you lose as a famous champion, you never hear the end of it. He also said that he couldn't imagine how he would have handled getting TKOd, if he was as famous as Rousey. Especially with all the stuff that they put on the internet. The memes, Twitter, videos and the usual Hater's Parade. He said that he didn't know how he would react to that. When Leonard lost to Duran, he went through a period of depression and isolation. He wasn't congratulating Duran on his win. Ali never would have admitted any fighter was better than him, even when he just got clobbered. Anyway, George came back, in part because Sera was accusing him of making excuses. He was. Still, he came back and dominated Sera, and shut up the doubters. The cool thing about what happened with Tate, is now the UFC has three stars in the women's bantamweight division, instead of just one. Long time fans of Tate and Holly should be thankful that Ronda knocked down the door, and brought them with her. They're gonna be set for life. Ironically, Ronda was the one talking up Holly, and pushing for her to get in there and give her some competition. When the time came, she wasn't ready for Holly.
He took the loss like a man, he knows that he made mistakes and he will come back stronger without doubt, it's a learning experience for him and he will gain massively from it
@@valentemedina5102 really? He went and defeated Nate in the rematch, then destroyed Alvarez and had 2 belts from different divisions for the first time ever im the UFC. Oh and then fought Floyd and won himself 100milion dollars. Check your facts.

I expected Conor to say something like "He got lucky" or "I had some bad luck, that's all", but he took the loss like a real man. That's worth a lot of respect.
Also have you noticed that Conor chooses his words wisely and sticks to what he says and doesn't switch his words around in any interview. He stays real with it one hundred percent. Good work champ.
how can anyone slag Connor off? He stepped up two weight classes, never played it safe like most of those fighters, was magnanimous in defeat. A true champion.
You guys just love to tear people down, huh? Conor's still one of the greats, he still did a ton for the UFC & MMA in general. Anderson Silva lost, GSP lost, Conor will be back.
+The X-Bros. If your talking accolades wise, he was a 2-Weight world champion coming into the UFC. He was also on a 15 fight win streak. He finished a top contender for Lightweight belt (Porier), became the interim Featherweight champion by KOing a 17-2 Chad Mendes, then went on to KO the No.1 Featherweight fighter in the world who had not been defeated in 10 years, in 13 SECONDS. Last but not least, he's entertained everyone watching this video and commenting and talking shit about him. Love him or hate him, he gets people talking. He is the biggest asset to the UFC,win lose or draw, because he puts on one hell of a show. GSP, Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnen etc... No of them can/could build a fight like McGregor. He is humble in this defeat and will come out at 200 and get people watch again. Cuz' that's what he does. He's the best entertainer on the planet :)
You always inspire me and for that i will always be your fan ! You teach us everyday what it means to take a risk and own up to it like a man. You biggest from Beirut
It's frustrating to watch as a Mcgregor fan when you know that Mcgregor is an overall better fighter than nate diaz. I guarantee nate would refuse to have a rematch because he knows he is more likely to lose, whereas if Conor had won that fight, he would have accepted a rematch against Nate any day cause he is the Better Fighter.
+Avenge Vizo Nate has been fighting much longer than Conor and Nate has more references and was able to stay calm during the fight. Conor had never fought someone like Nate so he had no reference, so he panicked. Conor is a better martial artist and I predict these 2 will fight again but at 155 and it will be a different story
You are as delusional as your boy McGregor. Nate will say yes to a big money fight even in a day notice. Imagine if Nate have a full camp. Or even Mendes have a full camp. Even Holly Holm went out as a warrior and your boy tapped faster than Sage Northcutt.
+EnsZoM1a tbh if Nate had a full camp he would've lost. Sometimes that much preparation can be your downfall and for this fight he had just the right amount. This is the best case scenario for Nate, he couldn't beat Mcgregor better than that in a million years. They will fight again at 155 and you will see
I like Conor and Nate. There no pussies and you can straight up tell there not trying to win by points and i respect that. And there not scared of no one.Not like other fighters . I respect them both for that . These ladies and gentlemen are what you call warriors
Still nothing but respect for the guy. Took a huge risk fighting in a weight class he's never competed in before. Sailed through the first round and Butchered Nate's face, but ultimately got caught with a left that he wasn't able to recover from and things went downhill from there. Showed up at the post fight presser and gave interviews despite the fact that many couldn't wait to rub his face in it. I believe he'll put in the work and come back stronger. And lets not forget, he's still the featherweight champ. Those hoping for a Ronda style breakdown are going to be sorely disappointed.
All greats eventually get defeated when there at the top of the game, look at Anderson and GSP both got defeats in there primes and both came back even stronger, Conor will do the same, i have no doubt of that.
Basically what everyone said, higher weight classes are a different ballgame. Connor said it, normally when he hits guys with certain shots he hit Diaz with they fall and his weight help mitigate that. Gives him a different perspective and understanding for that adjustment.
Conor McGregor hold your head up high. You inspire so many people everyday, true fans are there when you win or lose. Haters are going to always talk trash but they don't how it feels to be in that ring. You took a huge risk for this fight and not many UFC fighters would've done that. Thank you Conor McGregor for everything that you do. Continue to be great. #McGregor fan till i die.
This is the answer of a true champion. No trash talk about Diaz but an honest answer about his OWN performance, giving credit to who it deserves. Before a fight he's an amazing trash talker but after a fight always showing respect. A true champion is not defined by the way he wins but how he deals with defeat. McGregor shows he's got the heart of a champion. And Nate proved to be one hell of a fighter! Well done mr. Diaz!
+Kostas Zeimpekis Conor isnt arrogant, he is confident. and the trash talk is purely to sell ppv. he is smart, he knows how to hype his character so everyone gets more attention. him his opponents and the ufc. People have no clue how much he has helped ufc media wise. cardio i can agree because he isnt used to being that big so, putting on alot of muscle will be tiring when its not your natural weight
He quit in there inside that Octagon. That's why he can go now next weekend and say 'Oh, I fight every week' and this and that -- you can fight every week if you go in and quit. If you were willing to die in there, you wouldn't have those turnarounds" Conor Mcgregor
I think there's a lesson here. Just because you get a lot, it doesn't mean you can't stay humble and appreciative. It can be taken away just like that so remember to stay humble in victory.
+LxLOCOx420 Cocky in prediction humble in victory or defeat in the build up he was disrespectful but that's mind games and it's also to sell the fight but after each fight he always hugs his opponents congratulate them
They need to stop with the bigger weight class. These were two legit LW choosing not to cut weight. Simple as that. It's also interesting to hear Conor's take on reach. Nate got dominated by RDA two fights ago; the same man Conor was suppose to fight. RDA had a 6" reach disadvantage against Nate and overcame it. Besides, can't wait to see Conor's return and how he bounces back. Hope Nate finally gets some recognition and a push from the UFC, dude's a warrior.
For me Conor was better nearly for the whole match, it's sad that he completely stopped blocking Diaz shots tho, his chin is not from iron after all And another observation from that - Conor, make a black belt in BJJ man and you'll definitely be better off, I appreciate that you are probably the one with the biggest guts in the whole UFC and that you did such a show and that you hyped this so much for us, it was super great to watch, thank you very much for that man and keep taking challenges and keep being awesome, Iam sure that you will come back even stronger after this one!
He took a major chance, he knew the risks, lost and took it like a man. Shame people who had nothing to do with his defeat are celebrating. Mystic Mac will comeback better, stronger, faster. Aldo...you're next.
aldo will pick him off wen they fight again he will take him to the ground and ground and pound his ass thats how u beat mcgregor the irish boy duffy laid the blue print in how to beat him thts now 3 times hes taped out ground game is shocken over rated team diaz easy meat lmao
Why is he acting like Nate is a welterweight he fights in the lightweight division which according to Conor was the mud division he would just go in there and take the belt. Make no mistake about it the reason they took Nate as opponent was because they thought it was the easier fight. Now after knowing he can't bully people like he does at featherweight he looks dejected.
After the first round and landing a few shots in the second, Conor left his guard down cockily, thinking Diaz is done. Huge mistake. Then he shook him with that left, and I knew if it went down fast to the ground, it would've been over. It just goes to show you anyone is beatable.
+LightsTeamEuphoria I do think Edgar beats him tho. The movement and non stop pace will fatigue him. Edgar is hard to hit and even harder to put away. Very bad match up. If he continues to avoid Edgar and fights also, I believe he will destroy aldo.
Such a difference in how Conor takes this defeat and how Ronda did. Ronda lost alot of fans in how she handled it....Conor has gained fans in how he is handling it. It was always going to be hard to stay undefeated. Conor you did your country proud tonight in how you handled the loss.
GSP the greatest welterweight of all time has been caught by subs and by a punch. And he still became the greatest of all time in his division possible of all time, and he never went up. McG is still a G in my book. Saved a card, sold the piss out of it, went out on his shield like a modern day warrior...& nearly had Nate . Have him a shave and a hair cut with how many spinning kicks and crosses that just whizzed by his head. What a great fight for both. IMO McG just launched Nate into where he should have been the whole time. In the end, both are better than they were before this, guaranteed.
Timepiece Enthusiasm connor hasn't had all of those fights in the ufc. Nate has way more fights under his belt in other fighting divisions. Connor most likely won't be able to defend his belt against also. RZA would have destroyed connor. I like connor, he's an amazing fighter, but he got outclassed in this fight. A win is a win when it is by ko or submission. No excuses. Just as connor beat aldo. No one says that was a fluke. They give that win and respect to him
Timepiece Enthusiasm Champ that lost and tapped out Sounds like the "king" needs to call himself for the MYSTIC TAP from now on Holms didnt tap,McFlincg did,,,pussy hahahah

+EnsZoM1a tbh if Nate had a full camp he would've lost. Sometimes that much preparation can be your downfall and for this fight he had just the right amount. This is the best case scenario for Nate, he couldn't beat Mcgregor better than that in a million years. They will fight again at 155 and you will see
+LightsTeamEuphoria Now Conor fans are analyst.
A lion is only dangerous when he's hungry
+aaron sas A lion is only dangerous when attacking the smaller and weaker. No lion fucks with a rhino, elephant or giraffe
+AlwaysSoldierOn that is also true
The moment the gazelle choked out the lion. Lol.
+AlwaysSoldierOn OH SHIT THAT METAPHOR
I wanna see Ido Portal's face when connor tapped
0:05 Priceless expression. It's better in slow motion, press 'shift
I like Conor and Nate. There no pussies and you can straight up tell there not trying to win by points and i respect that. And there not scared of no one.Not like other fighters . I respect them both for that . These ladies and gentlemen are what you call warriors
At least mcgregor took the lost like a champ not like Ronda
that's what happens when you stand up to the bully
I agree. Connor seems to thrive when he's the bully but he crumbles when his strategy doesn't work. That's what happened with Joe Duffy.
lololol look at him so humble and quiet now. Humble pie courtesy of 209. Thank you Nate
Respect to Conor and Nate; both are warriors.
All greats eventually get defeated when there at the top of the game, look at Anderson and GSP both got defeats in there primes and both came back even stronger, Conor will do the same, i have no doubt of that.
connor ' first time to see this guy humble . heart broken
Basically what everyone said, higher weight classes are a different ballgame. Connor said it, normally when he hits guys with certain shots he hit Diaz with they fall and his weight help mitigate that. Gives him a different perspective and understanding for that adjustment.
Conor, Artem and Gunni all decimated same way by Maia, Diaz and Ryan Hall. Common denominator - 'specialist' Ido Portal
"Tapping to Duffy haunted me for years, that will never happen again as I'll fight to the death from now on" -Conor Mcgregor.
Until he feels a choke. Then he will tap immediately.
+Patrick Skehill
LOL!
+Harshal Desai Ye, he looked really shocked after that defining right jab lef swing from nate
Diaz!
+Erik Heeres nate proved he has the best jaw in ufc he has never been knocked out
He took his lost like a man.. Was a fan of both and still am.
"He's not human, he's like a piece of iron" - Conor McGregor
Lol, nice Rocky reference
lol 😂😂😂
Most of all he's Mexican
Its amazing how quiet he is after a loss
Nate Diaz vs Ido Portal UFC 200
How many fighters would jump divisions, create huge media attention for ufc and take belts easy? people hatin have no brains
Randy did it but he was not so fucking arrogant and had better cardio
+Kostas Zeimpekis Conor isnt arrogant, he is confident. and the trash talk is purely to sell ppv. he is smart, he knows how to hype his character so everyone gets more attention. him his opponents and the ufc. People have no clue how much he has helped ufc media wise. cardio i can agree because he isnt used to being that big so, putting on alot of muscle will be tiring when its not your natural weight
1st Ronda Rousey and now Conor McGregor there will always be someone to defeat and humble you.
Conor i love you victory or defeat please stay who you are you inspire people
What is more exciting than winning, is loosing and then coming back stronger than ever !
Im with the champ, go coner mcgregor.....
Still a Conor fan and always will be. Still a champ and always will be.
The extra weight allowed him to take those shots? No. More like the Diaz brothers don't get knocked out.
Dude Conor is a 145er lol. Nate got lucky he was much bigger
The hype for Conor McGregor Vs Nate Diaz at UFC 196 was insane!! What a war 👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥 Good times man.
Good interview, I like to see humbled champions.
I will be a ghost in there. Then i will not be there. Then i will get choked in there. Then i will tap in there.
"I would STRANGLE you in a heart beat." - Conor McTapper
He quit in there inside that Octagon. That's why he can go now next weekend and say 'Oh, I fight every week' and this and that -- you can fight every week if you go in and quit. If you were willing to die in there, you wouldn't have those turnarounds" Conor Mcgregor
I think there's a lesson here. Just because you get a lot, it doesn't mean you can't stay humble and appreciative. It can be taken away just like that so remember to stay humble in victory.
Conor is so not loud anymore. Im happy to see him humbled.
He was always humble
+Sebastian Sutachan bullshit he's was a disrespectful piece of shit till Nate shut his loud mouth up
+LxLOCOx420 he***
+LxLOCOx420 Cocky in prediction humble in victory or defeat in the build up he was disrespectful but that's mind games and it's also to sell the fight but after each fight he always hugs his opponents congratulate them
They need to stop with the bigger weight class.
For me Conor was better nearly for the whole match, it's sad that he completely stopped blocking Diaz shots tho, his chin is not from iron after all
And another observation from that - Conor, make a black belt in BJJ man and you'll definitely be better off, I appreciate that you are probably the one with the biggest guts in the whole UFC and that you did such a show and that you hyped this so much for us, it was super great to watch, thank you very much for that man and keep taking challenges and keep being awesome, Iam sure that you will come back even stronger after this one!
we came to participate, and get stockton slapped lol
Fucking hilarious how all those basement trolls came out to the light of the monitor. hahahaha
Even in defeat he’s still true to his word.
Nate is one of the very few that can actually compete with mcregor and be a challenge
I still love the way conor fight though
Yes, his ground game is super bad
Like Diaz said he knocked out midgets.
He say he ain't gonna shy away from it, yet he sounds shy and quiet!
WHat a sweet voice... Humble tone...
What a class man, what a fucking fight also! A true legend and inspiration, Goat
Conor punched 10 times did not hurt Nate, but when Nate punched Conor one it hurt him.
No it didnt
+Dat-Feel uh if u knew anything ,connor hits at a funny angle same way i throw my right hand and when it lands it cuts people, opens em up
Dat-Feel u
Look how the champion talks... very nice. .much respect.
connor is great and humble you ll come back in this division n win the title for sure
The moment after the fight when Nate got to Conor and stroke his head was priceless....
Like "Good Booooy"
How Conner reacted after this fight gained alot of respect. He sure screwed that up😂
I've never seen a fighter so self aware after a loss. Conor is a scary dude in these next few fights. Good luck 145lbers. 209!!!
I hope to see Nate and Conor fight again and I hope it's for the 155 title, they both fought like warriors. I think it'd be even better at 155 though
He will go back to 145 and show them he is still king of that division
+LightsTeamEuphoria I do think Edgar beats him tho. The movement and non stop pace will fatigue him. Edgar is hard to hit and even harder to put away. Very bad match up. If he continues to avoid Edgar and fights also, I believe he will destroy aldo.
All these Conor haters coming out of their caves, laughable
And all the mcgregor dick riders going back into their caves also laughable just enjoy the fight and respect the better fighter on the night
Win lose or draw mc Gregor still the man
+Jimmy Loughnin Get a life boy, hating is a sad thing!
nothing is more laughable than Conor fans.
people don't hate him, just his retarded fan-base. eeiirrrre
+Jimmy Loughnin You're just a bandwagon bitch!
McGregor is still the best! As simple as that
The best at tapping out
the best at giving up as soon as he's being choked
Timepiece Enthusiasm connor hasn't had all of those fights in the ufc. Nate has way more fights under his belt in other fighting divisions. Connor most likely won't be able to defend his belt against also. RZA would have destroyed connor. I like connor, he's an amazing fighter, but he got outclassed in this fight. A win is a win when it is by ko or submission. No excuses. Just as connor beat aldo. No one says that was a fluke. They give that win and respect to him
Timepiece Enthusiasm Champ that lost and tapped out
Sounds like the "king" needs to call himself for the MYSTIC TAP from now on
Holms didnt tap,McFlincg did,,,pussy hahahah
Timepiece Enthusiasm I like how Holy Holms didnt tap but your king did haha
Great fight by both this just wasn't your weight you got a little too cocky but still taking a fight at 170 and you didn't do that bad of a job. Still on team Conor.
"Who do you train with? I train with top 10 kickboxers, top 10 wrestlers, top 10 boxers, top 10 bjjers. My whole team could kick your ass"
Nate Díaz
"We played too much touch butt, and didn't train enough spirit fingers."
