Hi Shakayla. I am new and I am considering changing my intake lifestyle seriously, mainly for health reasons. I will continue to follow you and preparing for my new food journey. You are a person that talk my kind of language and speed. Thanks for the information you are providing, because I really didn't know where to start.
I've been pescatarian for three and a half years now and I look forward to your videos every Sunday. I learned the freezing tofu technique from you and I'm never going back lol.
I started the plant-based diet on August 1, 2024, for health reasons. I am all in. I really like it. I do need simple recipes to begin. I did start shopping at the local Better Health Market, but it took a toll on my budget! So I appreciate your suggestions on planning meals (I'm a planner), going to local groceries, and going to the local farmer's market. I'm really looking forward to taking this journey with you.
Just finishing my 21 day Daniel fast ...realizing I cant go back! Consuming all the vegan content I can find! So thankful to have come across your page!!! ❤
I have been watching you for a while. I started my none meat eating journey about a year and a half now. I don't eat animal fleash and the only dairy I eat is cheese and eggs. Eggs mainly bc it makes eating breakfast out easier. Well, cheese is crack and that's enough said. I've tried to give up cheese multiple times and the devil made it sooo 🤷🏾♀️. I love your videos, you, Sir, and hubby. You are a positive example to us all and I appreciate the work you put in developing recipes and making videos. I went plant based bc I was I've issues disgusting meat (at that time I was only eat poultry and some seafood). Those issues have cleared up. I am trying working on cooking more, getting better at meal prep and planning. Oh and grocery shopping. Idk how I can spend so much and come back with so little. (Processed poop of course) I will say to all it is definitely one step at a time and sometimes I have to take two steps back but I'm working it. 😊
Hi I’m Nakia. I absolutely LOVE your channel! I started my plant-based journey in 2020, but have still eaten meat occasionally since then. I hate meal prepping but will say I recommend prepping proteins has become a must for me. Every Sunday I make quinoa, brown rice, tofu, lentils and roasted chickpeas for the week without fail. This has been a game changer as far as saving time and you can create so many plant based meals from those staples. It has allowed me to remain more consistent in my journey. I rarely eat meat as a result and it will aid in my goal of becoming 100% plant based. Also, your frozen tofu hack was life changing for me! I was just about to give up!!😂😂 So keep the videos coming! I have turned family members on to you as well❤❤
Thank you for the melanated recommendations. There’s a lot of folks out there ( myself included)who need to see that we do eat this way and are healthy and happy for it.
Hey Shakayla, I am a new subscriber for about a week now and have been quitely going through your videos. Absolutely love them ✨ and the foods that you make, I just love colourful looking foods too. I'm a current pescatairian stuggling with some digestive issues and other symptoms and i've been contemplating going plant-based / introducing a high plant-based variety to my diet and maybe even slowly weaning off the fish but will begin by cutting down to 2/3 days of one fish based meal per week and then growing from there! Looking forward to more of your content 🥰 ooo and thank you for the other creator recommendations x

Hi, I started back in 2019. I heard of people that were able to go “cold turkey.” But it had been a bit of back and forth. But the beginning of this year brought more of a commitment. My why: health reasons and ethical. I really enjoy your content. I plan on making some of your tofu bacon
Hello I’m Rachael I started my plant base journey in July for health reasons. I never thought I could enjoy a vegan/vegetarian diet, but I love it. I don’t feel heavy anymore. I actually feel really good. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

Thanks Shakayla! All very good tips. I have been Vegan for 3 years. When i started i knew i wanted it to be clean and healthy! I researched various recipe providers, meal planned and reworked some of my favorite recipes eventually. Also I had to change my mind set about what a meal was. I was used to meat and veggies on a plate. Now 90% of my meals are bowls. Love the color and variety of food i eat now being plant based!
Newly plant base for preventative & weight loss 24lbs down need to incorp more exercises my weight has been 2lbs up then 1lbs down lately, I've been at it for 28 weeks, followed several reciepes on utube and advice. Thank you as I follow you. 😊
Hi, Shakayla I'm on month 4 taking it slow this time around I'm starting pescetarian. But I'm consuming more fruit and vegetables. This is my third time pray for me. My why is for my health and the environment.
I've been vegetarian since 2018 and have been consuming more processed faux meats, etc. Love watching your videos because they give me new ideas on how to cook more of the whole food proteins!
You are absolutely amazing. Do you have any videos for people like me who hate to cook? Recipes that are either few ingredients and/or are ready in under 15/20 minutes, things like that? I am not opposed to meal prepping on a Sunday for the week ahead if it's super easy and doesn't take more than 45 minutes. I'm not new at this, but always looking for new inspiration to keep it mostly whole food/healthy, while being as quick and easy as possible.
I have been on this journey of changing my eating habits/Going Plant-Based for almost 4 years SMH, I have went back to meat a couple of times mostly (CHICKEN, SEAFOOD, SOMETIMES BEEF NOW) But i don't eat pork at all , Cheese is a hard one to let go of lol. Its been hard for me especially now that i want to work out I want MAJORITY of my meals plant based & sometimes indulge in SEAFOOD, GROUND TURKEY in my meal preps also just want to make sure I'm hitting my MACROS. I just have to stick with it & keep working on my discipline.
I enjoyed experimenting with a few plant- based diet and even went vegan for a small amount of time a couple years ago but with the amount of health issues I have and just not feeling 100% with my current diet, I am about to start my plant based diet again soon! 🤗 I’m actually excited 🎉
Hi Shakayla, thank you for sharing your videos. I started by have doing no meat Mondays, Wednesday and Friday and is now fully plant based. Hard to find mushrooms and tofu where I am but veggies and greens are fresh, cheap and sometimes free here, so it is a blessing. I occasionally will eat boiled eggs and will keep eating them. I make my own almond milk, which is great.
I’ve been an ethical vegan for over a decade and whole food really are a game changer. I have some health issues and supporting my body with clean eating is incredibly helpful and I just feel better overall. One thing I noticed is my tastes kept changing and now I like foods I previously didn’t enjoy. Mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, raw veggies. I love them all now. So, the longer you are on this journey, the better it gets, I think. I would suggest trying a new food each month as well as retrying a food you might not have liked previously. Food just tastes better to me and I really enjoy eating this way instead of it feeling limiting or like punishment.
Stopped consuming meat in January of 2019 and was definitely having issues transitioning to full vegan. Vegan since 2021 and I will agree with you, it takes time to get in the groove of Whole Foods meals. Lucky to have found you maybe 2 years ago as you have inspired MANY meals!!
Thank you for this video - it was helpful- I am just wanting to move towards more healthy eating options- and I have been watching a few of your videos for the last couple of days - cause im just trying to figure out how to make things taste good
Hi! I'm Mia. I'm currently located in NJ. I'm not vegan, and I don't think I will go full-on vegan. However, I'm looking to incorporate more plant-based meals into my diet. In the past, I did meatless Mondays and would like to get back to it. Also, I'd like to share another plant-based creator I enjoy following is Rainbow Plant Life.
I keep needing these reminders. I try to go cold turkey (so to say) and fail miserably then feel bad. I just need to keep making small changes. Thank you!
Great video and great advice. I am currently not on a plant based diet, but I have tried it a few times and it still interest me today. A lack of creativity was the reason I didn't continue a plant based lifestyle. Lets not forget that not not only is produce good for us, but also fruits and herbs. Plant based or not, I just enjoy watching your videos.

Hey Friend 🧡 Been following you for a while. I truly appreciate this video, and I am ALWAYS "starting" a plant-based lifestyle. Like you said, it takes some of us time. Time to deviate from the way of eating we grew up on and to fully incorporate a whole new mindset of healthy-eating. I won't give up though and thanks to you, I am able to motivate myself over and over again❤❤❤! Hey! Who do you follow for inspiration? Thx🥰
Thank you for this. I recently became plant based. However, I fine myself eating a lot of the same things because I’m not familiar with other recipes yet.
I’m a new vegan. I’m only 2-weeks in. I got diagnosed with colitis and occipital neuralgia and wanted to try plant to help with gut and overall health.
Another awesome inspiring video beautiful Shakayla and good tips for those just starting out and it would have been helpful if this video existed 8 years ago when I became vegan plant based for health and to prevent and reduce risk of disease but now I'm also an ethical vegan. If a product contains an ingredient i can not pronounce it is better not to eat it. Love 🥰 the video and love 💓 Shakayla.
I significantly reduced my animal product intake for about a year before going vegan. I had never intended on going vegan at the time. I just wanted to eat healthier. So when I did go vegan, I didn't really change how I eat. I could still eat foods I've always eaten, like goulash, and just exclude the animal products out of it. Heck, I can still go to Taco Bell and Subway and eat vegan with no issues. So for me, it wasn't some big huge shift. Once I got away from eating animal products, I reflected on my experiences and feelings from before I went vegan and realized I never really enjoyed eating animal products. Even when I was a kid and we got KFC, I would always feel disgusted when eating chicken legs. I always felt kinda grossed out eating skin and especially when I got to the tendons and bones. It was always 🤢 for me. I've always hated animal fat on steaks, etc. I would always cut it off. I hated biting into bone when eating things like sausage or burgers. I'm MUCH happier being vegan.
Your videos are so inspiring, I am thinking of trying some of your recipes because your vegan meals seem so flavorful. Thanks for another great video☺️😁!
I’ve planned to go plant-based for years… tried it for a few months and fell off (usually because of Thanksgiving) Now, I’m pregnant so trying right now seems almost impossible 😣
Oh nooo! It shouldn’t be impossible. Have you tried working with a professional to help you come up with some pregnancy friendly meals? If not, my friend Diyasha on CZcams and Instagram shared a lot of meals she ate while pregnant and they were 100% plant based
@@Shakaylafelice hmm… I’ll look at her content now. My husband suggested I use a meal subscription service to make it a bit more simple and easy for me to make the shift.
Great tips - can you do a very simple 5, 10 ingredient or less simple recipes? I’ve been plant based vegan for over 4 years now for health, so worth it
I’m curious to see what other plant based vloggers you follow maybe I’m tripping but I didn’t see them listed in description. I’m trying to transition again I just never know what to eat and could use some ideas
Both....I really want to support you and want to follow a plant-based diet 🙂. I have Multiple Sclerosis and the relapses are wearing me down. Has seen what a plant-based diet has worked for some people so I want to try it. Thank you for your these delicious looking meals
You got this! I hope that things get better with your MS!!! There was another comment here of someone with MS and she mentioned that she began to feel better after changing her diet. I hope the same works for you
So glad I stumbled upon your channel! Any recommendations on vegan summer meals? I rent and my apt gets extremely hot during the summer, so I so refuse to use my oven/stove top to cook as not to make my extremely hot apt even hotter. Other than salads, some good no cook recipes would be helpful
Spring rolls, salads, and sandwiches are the first that come to mind! If you have the time, you could try ingredient prepping on Saturday or Sunday that way during the week you wont have to use your stove as much.
Definitely check with your doctor first to see what your body needs. Everything I take is based on what I have either been suggested to take or decided to take based on what I feel that I need at the time.
i’ve been vegetarian from the past two month but i was vegan for a year. i agree with everything you said! finally doing this thing right, but i would also add doing a blood test to see if you are deficient in certain vitamins once you a little further into your journey and also using herbal supplements + teas for different purposes 🤍
I am about 2 weeks in eating WFPB. I am struggling with different meals to make. I don’t want to eat the ultra processed mock meats. I’ve been getting my protein from beans, tofu, tempeh. However I am starting to get bored with the same food. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated and love your channel ❤

Every time I go to get my monthly infusion and I mention changing my diet I get little remarks like it might help a little. So discouraging. I’m interested in changing to a plant based diet for health reasons.
I’m 68 years old and i need to help myself with my health. I have high blood pressure and have high cholesterol. I am a good home cook but i do not know how to cook vegan. I thought about keto but i already have problems and I need to reverse these problems. I really need help with how to make new recipes and what is good to even help me with my weight problem. Please Help! ❤
A couple of days ago I saw a shirt video of you making vegan cheeseburger egg rolls. I cannot find the recipe on your website nor can I find the video. Can you post the recipe here?
Genuinely curious question- does it need to be all or nothing for you? Can you do something like 90/10? Eating a diet with a very high percentage of plant-based unprocessed foods is great.
Dairy ice cream and cheese were the last thing to go for me too. I asked my vegan friends for a good book to read and that's all it took. Check out Dr. Neal Barnard's book The Cheese Trap. Dairy cheese is addictive which makes it difficult to let go of.
I really want to become vegan. My son has been vegan since high school and he's now 30. The problem for my husband and I is that the food just doesn't look appealing or it's foods we don't eat, like beans, tofu, etc. Plant based ground is awful. I've tried different recipes from different vloggers and either the flavor is lacking or the meal itself just isn't good or fulfilling. I want to go vegan for health reasons but it is truly difficult when you don't like any of the food. And I can't eat pasta every day, nor do I want to.

I shared your name with another content creator today. He's struggling with how to start. Today's video was perfect ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You're the best!
This video came right on time to reset for the week👍🏽👍🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Hope you enjoyed it!
Hello I’m new to the journey. Have been watching and enjoying your meal preps . I just need to get serious about my health
Im rooting for you!!!
Thank you, David!!
Yay! Thank you!
I’ve been plant based vegan for over 4 years now for health, so worth it
Love this idea!!!
Great advice
I’m curious to see what other plant based vloggers you follow maybe I’m tripping but I didn’t see them listed in description. I’m trying to transition again I just never know what to eat and could use some ideas
I added their names to the description as soon as I saw your comment. Thanks for the reminder
I hope the same works for you
@@Shakaylafelice thank you for your response. Tried the harissa butter beans...OMG!!!! delicious!!!! love your recipes!
Hey, I enjoy your videos. I have a question. What vitamins do you recommend?? I’m vegan. Thank you for any suggestions.
Thank you for sharing! Love your channel 💜 any recommendations for daily supplements?🙏🏽
Hey Shakayla. I'm China. I am 6 months vegetarian. My goal is raw vegan! Your video is much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I have been on this journey for some years but desperately need the help on how to make meals…
Hi there! Check out my past videos for meal ideas! I have so many
@@Shakaylafelice yess ..I will do that thank you so much!!
Loved your intro 😂😂😂😂❤also very informative!!!
Haha thank you
I’m looking to a plant based diet. I had pulmonary embolism last week as well as a gallbladder removal in November 2023. I’m looking to change.
Are you doing ok now?
Great video as always ❤
Thank youuuu
Hello, this will be day one for me. Just wanna feel better and gonna try to leave the meat alone.
back at it!
Thank you
You're welcome!
Hiiii! Congrats on being 2 weeks in! Check out some of the videos I linked in the description as well as more of my videos. I've shared so many meals ideas that I think you'll enjoy
Every time I go to get my monthly infusion and I mention changing my diet I get little remarks like it might help a little. So discouraging. I’m interested in changing to a plant based diet for health reasons.
Im rooting for you!!!
❤
Came for the green juice recipe 😢
How do you prep your plant based crumbles?
Mine stick really bad in the skillet...
What type of skillet are you using?
I’m 68 years old and i need to help myself with my health. I have high blood pressure and have high cholesterol. I am a good home cook but i do not know how to cook vegan. I thought about keto but i already have problems and I need to reverse these problems. I really need help with how to make new recipes and what is good to even help me with my weight problem. Please Help! ❤
Both
Ty for advising to use minimal processed plant based foods. Them foods are no good, no nutrients whatsosever. 80/20 is the key.
I couldn't agree more!
A couple of days ago I saw a shirt video of you making vegan cheeseburger egg rolls. I cannot find the recipe on your website nor can I find the video. Can you post the recipe here?
I found it! It was the one with the dill pickle sauce
My weakness is ice cream and cheese. The substitutes are definitely discouraging for me. Texture is everything. I’m still trying though.
van leeuwen ice cream has become a fav of mine! It’s so good
Genuinely curious question- does it need to be all or nothing for you? Can you do something like 90/10? Eating a diet with a very high percentage of plant-based unprocessed foods is great.
try the brand So Delicious but make sure its one of their cashew milk ones. it's better than regular ice cream in my opinion
@@LiveAlcheme It doesn't NEED to be anything. Do what feels good to YOU and your body. If thats 90/10, 80/20 etc.. thats perfect!
You'll have to cook things that you enjoy eating and use ingredients that you're a fan but most importantly, be open to trying new things out.
Hey shakayla felice 😁👋
Heyyyy!!
Plant based junk food? Like what
Hi I’m Ebony and I have been on this plant based journey for 3 months now. I’m so happy I found your channel and your grocery list. With your video’s and Pinterest I haven’t gotten bored. I’m actually cooking a lot more and love every moment of it. Thank you so much for sharing you knowledge, tips and tricks! 🫶🏾🫶🏾
