- Did you buy an Automatic 56 Egg Incubator off Amazon? Did the instructions SUCK?!
In today's video we will walk you through how to use one of the off-brand 56 egg incubators with automatic turners. They are a great deal on Amazon but man do the instructions SUCK! Once you learn how to use it you will be hatching eggs in no time without spending a fortune on a fancy incubator.
We will lead you through how to calibrate the temperature, settings for humidity, alarms, and high/low thresholds. We will go over childproofing locks to the controls and resetting your daily counter.
Finally, we will show you how to install and remove the automatic egg turner and give you some additional tips on maintaining a consistent temperature in the 56 egg incubator.
The branding on this incubator changes regularly but you may have bought this automatic 56 egg incubator off amazon under the name of Anfan, Yescom, LitBest, Noeler, Kemanner, Najer, or Mauccau. Don't fret, these are all the same machine and with a few helpful hints you'll be hatching your own chickens, quail, or ducks in no time!
If you are interested in buying one of these incubators here is the one we have (Affiliate link): amzn.to/2B6ZFbh
Thermometer/Hygrometer we suggest:
Blue Dot (Tempo) shown in the video: amzn.to/3jR7tQw

Thank you!!! So much easier to follow then the others i watched! I pray it works right i have some very important and EXPENSIVE eggs going in tmrw
I remember hatching my Svart höna eggs. So nerve wrecking.
Oh my god this is so helpful! Thank you!
Ma'am, your directions are far better than what came with the machine, I took your advice and ordered a second thermometer, however, you made a comment. You're a"dry hatcher" and I would like to tell you I have hatched, hundreds and hundreds of chicks with cheaper incubators also from Amazon ($60 square crap-ola models with different names) through my experience, I learned humidity is the absolute most important thing. I'm now terrified to use this machine. I'm not being a jerk. I'm very thankful I found your video. But what the heck kind of company does not have proper instructions? I have some somewhat exotic eggs here. I think I'm going to hold off on them and do a trial run. Thanks so much for helping everyone! It's a shame we have to figure this stuff out together instead of by a manufacturers video or even a more in-depth instruction book.
Omg thanks for the video! I could not figure out the constant beeping!!
Glad we solved it!
This is a great instructional video! You did an awesome job!! I had to transfer 15 emu eggs to this incubator last night after my cabinet GQF sportsman 1502 blew a fuse. The alarm kept going off and I was about to go out of my mind by 4:30 am when I found your tutorial. I had been messing around with the settings and had figured most of them out. Your cheat to lower the humidity to 1 gave me 90 mins of sleep before I had to get up and start a Monday at work. Thank you. All 15 emu eggs and my children thank you!!
I sure hope the emu babes made it! And yeah that alarm is the pits 🤣
@@reaganskopp Thank you for yore reply i have square eyes researching this i even watched in different languages and not once have any of the videos have shown this. Could you make a short video as i do really want this one even though the fan is on the base. I think the design of the front is amazing. you have to admit it looked banging on your counter lol
Good video !!
I love watching CZcams videos that actually show you how to figure something out. I was about to throw this incubator in the garbage. I still don't like this incubator for lockdown. The bottom is plastic, and they slip and slide when they try to get up and the fan dries out the eggs, so we had to modify it. Thanks for helping us out with the settings!
Awe thanks. It’s honestly not the incubator I use nowadays. Which is why this isn’t a recommendation video. But I did successfully use it to hatch multiple batches after lots of trial and error which is why I made the video. I actually got another ‘cheap’ incubator off Amazon that is in the other video I use now. Much better design.
Nice video, thank you. Where do you add water for the humidity? Mine doesn't have the little fill hole.. Thanks again.
Thank you great video. If I understand you correctly you need to change the temperature settings for the last 3 days when the eggs are taken out of the turner and set on the hatch floor?
Is there a setting on this incubator for days? I cannot find it on mine. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
This is a very good incubator ,,i have tested it 7+baches ,,, you have to calibrate it ,, you have to switch the fan to blow away from the eggs .,,, you have to set the max temp setting 38.5DegC,,,, best hatching temp i found in 37.5Deg C
hi can i ask you something about this incubator. what do you mean by raiting switch the fan?
Thank you for this explication.
What's condition per 1 or 1000 eggs on SETTER period ( temperature, Humidity, ventilation volume and flow, CO2, oxygen, pressure ) and HATCH period ( temperature, Humidity, ventilation volume and flow, CO2, oxygen, pressure )
Nice video!!!
How much water i put every day to keep the humidity in 60%?
Hello I know you have posted this two years about but I just have one question and I hope you could answer it so do you keep the temperature when they are on the tray about 97 to 101 and then on the last 3 days you lower it because the tray on the bottom the temperature is way higher than the tray. Because right now I’m just using the temperature from the bottom tray not the top and they are still developing I’m just wonder how does it work and what do temperature do I use
I’ve used this incubator once. Once I got it figured out, it was nice. However, I am trying to set it up to use again, but when I push “set” it says 30 degrees and won’t go up or down when I push the arrow buttons. I tried to reset to factory settings. I pushed the reset button and held it while I unplugged the cord and plugged back in. It didn’t reset. It just started back up where it was when I unplugged it. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else I can try or am I just out of luck?
Thank you so so much for making this video and for answering people's questions, I've learned so much already! My only question is, have you found a way to disable the fan? Or do you keep it on even after you take the egg turning tray out?
Thanks again for making and sharing this video! 👍☺️
Awe thanks! The fan stays on. There are two types of incubators forced air or still air. This one is a forced air so the fan stays on even through hatching to regulate the temperature.
@@reaganskopp Brilliant, thank you so much!
Can you help with resetting the day count. Even after being in the box for months and then starting it it started at day 5.
So the quail eggs fit in the egg turner ok or do I need to order another one?
Ours arrives tomorrow ❤ 🐓 🥚
Thanks!
Hello SoilSista! Ok so I just purchased this incubator and planning on hatching out quail. Any tips? I'm super new at this and taking all not to prepare for a successful hatching. Ha! I appreciate the tips in this video as it is helpful thus far. Many blessings to you 🙏🏾
So the biggest tip I have for quail is keep the humidity lower until hatch day. Maybe look up dry hatch methods.
Second biggest tip would be to consider how to block the edge holes in the incubator. It looks like how could a quail fit through there? But they can! I got some plastic mesh I lay over it when I remove the egg turners. And then I shove paper towels in any gap I don’t have a nice tight fit in the mesh. They can get through the tiniest crack!
@@reaganskopp Oh wow... Ok thanks for the tips SoilFamily, we appreciate you 🙏🏾
It was super hard to clean. Do you have any idea how to reset the days it’s at 34 now.
I get same incubator. The fan icon appears and disappears. In the place where the temperature is displayed, the numbers and letters change, saying "FAN". the incubator beeps. Can you tell me what the problem is. Also the heating icon appears and disappears. The temperature rises slightly
How you set up for chicken eggs, I have similar and beeps other time.
Hi how do you reset the day counter on the incubator please
Thanks for your video, super helpful. I have never dry hatched eggs, have you had much success doing that?
I wouldn’t say we exactly dry hatch. Mostly because we are usually running the AC and our humidity is lower than even suggested by dry hatch methods. But we keep a low humidity method. Kind of a modified dry hatch method. Had pretty good success so far just add a little water when the humidity dips below 35-40%. And then shoot for a 65-70% for hatch. Only issue we have run into is if we HAVE to get chicks out during the hatch. When you run the humidity low you have to be on it if you have to crack it open during hatch for any reason.
Hello.
Thanks for the Video. I have a question. Do you loose the calibration settings once you have a power outage ? I'm testing abit and if it turn it off from the power button or else just unplug it i'm loosing the calibration settings. Is this normal ?
Thanks,
Etienne
Yes. You would have to re-input them. You can write it down. I don’t really bother to calibrate anymore. I just figure out which temp I need and remember that setting.
My motor for egg turner is bent and on top. I need to know how to modify it to make connection so I don't have to return yet another incubator
Not sure if you found it yet. But if you hit the reset button and wait a few seconds it’ll turn and also reset the timer for the turner
What were your settings for the incubator. I live in California.
Hi mine blinks the word fan and beeps while that’s blinking got any ideas?
Thanks I'm bad setting things this helped lots
Thanks so much!
@@reaganskopp my friend is done with chickens and quail and gave me their incubatorit came with small print instructions so that's a bonus
Watching your video helps... I've had a smaller one that I could not get right only hatched 1/9 eggs so we had to get friends for it x 2 runs I was done
We have broody type hens so we will actually be using it for quail.... Pretty sure my friend used it for quail too but might have locked down in the Styrofoam one without the turners
Trying to set it up for the next few days so I'm collecting and storing the eggs correctly tipping the carton at least once a day.... Thanks again we will see how it goes I have the Styrofoam one to look up too because it didn't come with instructions but I think they gave me two but only one has the turners one for hatching brooding
This plastic ones any tips to cleaning it? Looks like a nightmare to take it apart
Maybe hatching lock down in the Styrofoam one might be easier to clean the mess out
@@mikecavemansavage1936 honestly it’s not bad. Just take out the turners and unscrew the mesh floor. It pops out and you can clean. Just don’t loose the screws!
@@reaganskopp thanks :)
I was looking for a tutorial video. Had slight difficulty in understanding the explanation. Now I am confused over what "fry" means. How many degrees should be changed when eggs are placed on bottom tray.
the same temperature should be set for the floor as the turners. The problem is that the heat is much warmer the closer you get to the electronics. I literally cooked my eggs. You have to turn the heat down to get it back to 38°c. I use a second thermometer to gauge.
37.6 degrees c is ok ?? And what about the days how do you reset those ?
Goodness very helpful. I managed to hatch 15 of 51 eggs but after wards for second batch the humidity alarm kept going off.
Yeah mine always went off. I go over how to set it to 0 so it stops that nonsense. Were they mail order eggs? Or home eggs? I’m happy with a 40-50% hatch rate on mail order. But I’ve had batches with like 5%. My home quail eggs I get 95%.
HELP! I can't get the time and days to reset on my incubator. I push the button and it turns the eggs and I hold it down and doesn't do anything or change anything????
Nice vedio tutorial. I have recently purchased.this incubator and this is mh first experience. My incubator beebs every 10 to 15 mins beside the fact temp is between the AL ane AH range. What could be the issue. Also my display show multiple values under temp section its show current temp, set temp, Fan, H and high temp..not sure if this i how it displays. In your i can see ur temp is stable
Yeah. My temp didn’t range more than a degree. If yours is constantly swinging wildly I’d send it back. Only alarm I disable is the humidity
We use the same thermometer but we run it on the bottom from beginning
Thanks for the video, that helps a lot since im new to this. Just 1 question I want hatch quails I put 12 quail eggs but i see that the quail eggs are obviously smaller than chicks eggs. My question is do i have to put something to keep the egg from moving when turner moves or is it ok to just place it in the turner without nothing to hold them?
When I hatched quail I just let them move in the middle of the turners. I did mark them lightly with a pencil so I could confirm they weren’t rolling to the same spot.
Maybe I missed in the video, to up and down ur humidity levels, do you just add more or less water. Or was there a way to set ur humidity to certain levels. Aka like when u wanna increase it at the end.
You just add more water. It should have come with a little squirt bottle
9:16 when you say turn it down. What degrees is a safe degrees, so they won’t burn? My eggs are almost at that 18 day mark, and I want to transition them to the hatching platform. But what degrees is safe to keep them on the platform?
You will have to figure that out with a secondary thermometer. Each incubator is different. I put mine on the hatching floor turn it waaaay down and slowly up the temp till I am back at 99.5
My humidity is not going up from 30% can you please tell me why??
hi what is the name of you temperature an humidity meter
Hi I couldn't see the question in the comments but was curious if there is enough vents in this incubator. I put a blanket over the top to stabilize the heat but how does it then get fresh air?
There is a vent hole on the side where you can also add water. Just make sure that is open and you should be good.
hello how do you go about getting a humidity level between 50/60% I haven't yet found the perfect dose with the 100ml dispenser I get to 70% and when I my 30ml gets 68% and it rings quite often
My question, how do you do it?
Apologies but I can’t really help you. I dry hatch so I just refill humidity when it drops low and don’t focus on a constant level.
I do cover how to stop the beeping in the video and I use a separate thermometer/hygrometer.
I been hatching eggs from an incubator for over 20 years, and you have to have humidity between 55-65 percent the last 3 days. On that last day if you have your humidity too low, that chick will not be able to turn himself in the egg to be able to hatch his way out. That's why sometimes you have to help him and peel him out because the humidity is too low. But do whatever works for you but I've had great success this way.
Hello SoilFamily! I have questions! We just purchased this incubator and plan to hatch quail eggs in it... But all the settings are different for quail correct?
Awesome video, I have this exact incubator and could not figure how to do the settings, your explanation is excellent. A question, unlike most incubators the fan and heat source is below the eggs, so not as easy as other incubators to remove the egg tray at day 18 and put the chicks on the bottom. Can I let the eggs hatch in the yellow egg holder bit if I disconnect the egg turning motor, and then will the chickens be OK to be left on that for the 24 hours or so normally recommended they should stay in the incubator? IE, will their feet slip through the gaps or will they be OK?
No! You absolutely have to remove the turner and put them on the flat grid floor. They need to have a nice flat grippable surface for learning to walk. I even place some paper towels under the eggs when I lay them on the hatching floor to give an even better surface. If you leave the egg turners in the chicks will get caught in the turners and die or likely have malformed feet/legs. The turners really aren’t that bad to remove. They pop out pretty easily. Getting them back in is a little more challenging but not too bad.
@@reaganskopp OK thanks for the advice, I will do.
Not sure if mine is broken. I have been running it for a few hours. I have a temperature and humidity thermometer inside and it won’t go higher then 92 F, need it to be 99-100F for quail. 37.5 C= 92.3 F degrees. I have it calibrated 7degree difference. What am I doing wrong?
It could be broken. The other thing is if it is very cold or drafty you can use a towel underneath and one on the lid and it works wonders. Just make sure to leave the side vent hole clear for air.
I started three days ago and the counter has not moved what is going on?
What are your settings for your humidity and temperature, I am using chicken eggs and my incubator is weird I don’t seem to understand it
Generally the accepted temp is between 99.5-100.5 F. (38 C). Humidity is a hot debate and many people have opinions. I’d spend some time googling and decide what method works for you, best.
Thank you for all the information. Found this video on google when I just bought my incubator and the alarm just goes of and at te same time the water level goes totally banans. I am so greateful, but at the same time horrified. Cause the temperature in mine is not stable. It goes from -1,2 up to +0,2 diffrence inside at different places. So I don't know ow to calubrate that. Again, thanks!! Ths helped me a lot. Greetings from Sweden :)
So glad it was helpful. Mine has a shift as well. Especially at night as I live in an old drafty house. So far they still hatch. You can regulate it more by adding some insulation like a towel or styrofoam. Just make sure you calibrate it with that in place!
I figure it’s like a chicken. The hen moves around, hops off the eggs, it rains, it’s sunny, etc. Of course, a perfectly stable temp would be great BUT eggs are pretty resilient and can deal with some shifts.
so was your incubator temperature wrong or do you think all of them read it wrong because im so confused on what to do now?
It is wrong. You’ll need a second thermometer to calibrate it. However, this is the case with most expensive incubators. You are expected to calibrate them at least. I keep a thermometer in my cheap ones at all times and adjust accordingly.
I bought one from tractor supply. I tried it twice. Nothing is hatching this incubator. It’s actually working and a lot of them hatched.
where to put the water? please some demonstration and how to put
Thank you very helpful but how much water can it hold?
Hard to say it will tell you I think until you don’t hear the beeping anymore ☺️😅
Hello, I just bought the same incubator and I already filled it with water and the EEE for the humidity keeps coming up and the alarm won't turn off.
Help please?
If you watch the video it goes over the humidity setting, how it doesn’t work correctly, and how to fix it. Hope you found that part.
Why won't my incubator the same as this one temp get to where it needs to be and stay there
I bought one of these incubators and the temp is at 38.5C but wont get any hotter than 82F. Do you know what could be wrong?
No sorry. I don’t maintain or sells these. I’d personally send it back. Or try leaving the styrofoam over the lid and see if it get us to temp. Still that seems really low.
can you please help me ive tried everything, i have same machine as this but i can not get the humidity to go below 80%
If it has no water in it and is still at 80 then you need to get a separate hydrometer. I suggest that anyway for these machines. If you have water in it it can take several days, especially if the ambient air is moist. If you are not to hatching yet, you can open the lid and wipe out any moisture that collects daily. To speed the process along. Otherwise just let it slowly decrease.
Thank you so much I buy the cheap incubators and always able to figure something out i never read the reviews on any of them so it was a nice little challenge but made the mistake of reading the reviews on this on. all the other ones were scary about the tray not working (no problem hand turn them) does not keep temperature (OK fit own thermostat) does not get to temperature (no problem use the packing that came with it) the one that got me was the digital board shorting out and the fan was on the base where the water is and fan stops working. You have shown that i do not need to worry about that because not once did yours glitch.
I have a question in researching this i was getting confused there are actually two different versions of this incubator. facing towards the front on the left yours has two buttons the other model has three i do not know which is the newer upgrade from the dates in the comments seams like a year ago yet the other version in their comments is three
could you let me know the year you got your any help will be very appreciated
This will be my fourth spring hatching in it. I bought mine in 2019.
@@reaganskopp Thank you for your reply i am being put off by the cleaning and water getting into the panel how do you clean yours?
The hatching floor unscrews so you can clean under it.
So the egg turner it comes with will work for chicken eggs as well as quail eggs?
Yes! I was nervous at first with the quail eggs as they rock around in the cups. However it ended up fine with a nice healthy quail hatch.
Suggestions for resetting the day timer. The reset button doesn’t work.
So when they had 3 days left to hatch how low did you set the temperature
You still keep the temp at 99.5-100.5 F for chickens. That doesn’t change for hatch unless it is a different species. You would want the humidity to be 60 percent or higher. That part is up for debate on your preferred method.
Great video. Should have watched it before trying it first. 1 question. How do i reset the number of days?
You can only reset it back to zero. Just hold down the reset button
When i hold the reset it only resets the turner not the days. How do u reset days
@@jimwelch7995 it's been awhile. But it seems like when you continue to hold it down, it flashes then starts rolling back the days. Or something like that.
My modle is the newer one so im hoping they fixed alot of this. Because they definitely made the egg turner easier 😂lol 🙏
Ooo that’s good to hear! It was a royal PITA
So what do you do if the humidity isn't right? What do you do when the alarm sounds?
I show you, in the video, how to disable the alarm. I just do that and handle my humidity and temp using a Bluetooth device. Options in the video description.
Mine doesn’t have that button or at least it’s not working. It only has a one reset button and it turns the egg tray and that’s it.
How do u reset the days
We got that tempo plus and it works great but we can’t figure out how to reset the days
Hold Rest and Unplug
Hi again. I was hoping you could help me with my incubator since you gave me a great advice weeks ago. When will the eggs start hatching? Because they’re on day 19 and there’s no sign of cracking. I’m really worried. Please help me.
If they are chicken eggs day 21. You might see a tiny hole in the egg a day earlier. But usually mine were say 21-22. It is hard to be patient but once they start hatching don’t mess with them. Good luck!
@@reaganskopp Ok thanks!! I’m very grateful. 😊
I wanna know how much the temperature is supposed to be when they are on the surface without the egg turner thingy
It should be the same 99.5° F. But you have to adjust it because you are now closer to the heat source. Once you remove the egg turners.
Hi, I’m very new to hatching eggs for my flock and just recently I’ve discovered some fertile duck eggs from my two hens. I just ordered this as my first incubator last night and was wondering how you adjust the temperature. I’ve seen other incubators that have different methods of temperature control, and I want to make sure that my eggs are as safe as possible.
If you watch the video we go over each and every setting!
How do you reset the days?
Hi. Thank you for the informative VDO. I was totally lost with the (no) instruction manual and your VDO was very helpful. I put 26 eggs and would like to add another 26 (all together) in the next few days, so the two batches will have different hatching dates. Is it possible to take out some of the egg turners to put the eggs on the tray in the final hatching days while the other side is still on the turner? Thanks
No. While this sounds like a good idea in theory it doesn't work that way. Chicks would get caught in the remaining egg turners. Also you need to up the humidity right before the eggs hatch at a time when you want the other eggs to dry out. It's just too dicey for me.
@@reaganskopp Thank you very much. Much apperciated.
Does it have to have water in it
Can I turn off the turner? My chicks are pipping 3 days early, this is the morning of lockdown, and they are pipping before I could take the turner tray out!! Should I let them hatch in the tray?
Do not let them hatch in the tray! Go ahead and as quickly as possible get the chicks in the hatching floor.
You will want to raise the humidity stat and try not to open it again.
Question 🙋♂️ how do I reset the days??? 😅😅😅 I bout to do my second rounds of eggs and the first time all when great and this time humidity is not right and I cannot reset the date 22 😅 so on the humidity I did what you show us on your video ! Have to hold + or - button and take off the power cable. Keep holding this button and connect the power again. You will see all numers turns to 9999 then will drop to 888 then finally to 000. I know it sounds crasy but works.
Hello plz my incubator temperature become L36 and water on 50 an incubator produce sound tun tun

where does it vent from? usually they have some holes ontop ?
There is a hole in the side for venting and adding water.
How to u reset ur date ?
I have 70days on same incubator but can’t reset it, is there a button or way to reset bk to 0 day
There should be a reset button. I show it in the video. If pressing and holding it doesn’t reset to zero then it’s not working.
I've got the heat dialed in but the humidity is driving me nuts. If I put water in it shuts up for a long time. Any thoughts?
If you watch the video again I show you how to turn the humidity alarm off. That's what I meant about setting it to 1or the alarm goes off all the time.

How do I set the tripleEEE
Sorry, I know you said it’s better to use a second thermometer but what are the temperatures you have set up on the incubator? The humidity level and the Celsius? And also what is the name of the thermometer.
I use this blue tooth thermometer amzn.to/4czfYe6
I go for 99.5° F (it can vary 99-102 is still fine) and the humidity I start at 60 ish then I don’t add water till is down to like 15-20. Repeat till day 18 or 19 and then raise the humidity to 60 for hatching (when I take out the turner). DO not open until everyone has hatched once you do that final raise.
Thank you
I was wondering if you can help me my incubator keeps saying “fan”
The fan icon comes on when the fan is running. Which was pretty much always. If it actually said the word ‘fan’. I didn’t have that on my model.
It seems like they updated the version of this incubator. Now it reads in F and the humidity alarm is slightly more annoying. I have it set to 1 for humidity but the alarm still goes off below 30. The only way I can solve this problem is add a full squirt bottle of water every single night to keep it from constantly going off. Btw the egg turner now comes pre set up and connected as well.
UGH. We just set ours up and are having this issue. I want to do dry hatching and I don’t think I can because of this alarm.):

Can SOMONE in the chat awnser this question does this incobator turn the eggs for u and if it does how do u make it turn them for u
It does turn the eggs. That is what the yellow insert is. In the video I show you how to put it in and take it out. It sets on a bar that turns the eggs and you will see footage of it moving the trays back and forth. Around 11:30 if you want to fast forward.
It does not flip them around. It moves them side to side.
After two hatches that I wouldn’t even call decent the heating stoped working properly. It won’t raise above 65f
Yeah I’d send that back. Clearly it has an issue.
Hello can you help me o dint how to change to Celsius please
You can’t. I think I go over that part and what it should be in Celsius.
I imported from china dozens.. my customers always complaining..some says fan stop working or stucks some says it keep ringing the alarm some says it never hatches anything
Yep. If you don’t set everything in the video like I did alarms will ring all the time. And if you don’t check the temp outside of the built in gauge I wouldn’t expect anything to hatch. I haven’t had any issues with my fan so I cannot comment on that.
Mine looks exactly the same indeed but holds like 41 eggs (1egg holder is not usable bc of the motor turner is there)
I made 5 holes in the top, in the middle so it could get fresh air and ventilate through, because the first round with it got way too humid way too fast otherwise.. i use one hole for the secondary thermometer and & still has 4 holes around it.. for it.. I am starting round 2 soon, basically dry, I've just cleaned it out and set it up again and as it was behind (power fell out and power cord issues when water needed filling) so It's now 'catching up' haha my secondary incubator is in lockdown so when that's done and cleaned I will start them together
