One of the first songs to use distortion on guitar.
Fun fact, they slashed their speakers with a razorblade to produce this sound, causing the Fuzz pedal to be introduced to the public to stop musicians from destroying their gear, which was used by the Rolling Stones in Satisfaction.

It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I realized my parents, grandparents, knew what the hell they were talking about with music. Now I go as far back as the 1920s. I think as you get older, you explore now. So if you're already hitting the decades you mention, I can only imagine the size of your catalogue by the time you're in your 40s.

The first true rock band, after all the rock n roll of the late 50s, the R n B of The Stones, The Who and The Beatles in the early 60s, it is with The Kinks in in 64-65 that Rock as a genre in its own right begins and on top of that with just two songs they created heavy rock.

+Malcolm Coghill At least you got good music back then. Something with morals :T Now I'm stuck as a teenager with disrespectful songs. I love the music from the 50's XD

The Kinks were seriously the bridge from Rock to Metal and Punk. Just listen to Dave Davies guitar sound. Transforming!
