Since you haven't gotten a reply yet I think you should check out "Absima BL A10 Eco". You can get it as a combo with a waterproof 2-3S LiPo-Ready ESC or just the 3421kv waterproof motor. Paid $80 for the combo and it works flawlessly

Well brushed motors do tend to have better throttle response/control than sensorless brushless, but a sensored brushless motor will perform better than brushed motors
This was a really poor comparison video. The camera was zoomed in too far/held at strange angles, and moving too much to see truly how fast the car was going in the first place. Add to that no side-by-side comparison as well, it becomes very hard to guage. Have you tried just using a tripod or leaving the camera alone for a bit, and having both cars do a drag race/timed lap together?
