In Antartica the air can reach -80°C (ok, inland, not near the coast) while liquid water has to be around 0°C so yes, you could "warm yourself up" by taking a swim :D

Unfortunately as soon as you get out of the water you will turn into a bloc of ice

It should have been a DLC or at least stayed in early access for much longer. I agree that it did not seem finished at all. They had to rewrite the story halfway through development after the original writer left. Honestly it feels like after that, they just wanted to get it over with and release it. The story is a confusing, nonsensical mess and the map is obnoxiously shallow. Also pretty much every time I have gone to the Glacial Basin and Arctic Spires area, I end up falling through the ground at some point and having to reload my save.

I also forgot the depth upgrade in the fabricator caves and I agree that was definitely one of the scariest and most fun areas in the game.

I am glad you did this video. I'm not a fanboy but for me Below Zero failed to recapture the lighting of the first.
Though for me partway through the vid most issues you had I didn't, the two I confirm is the inventory system, and the loss of bigger vehicles. The cyclopse could store a bases worth of items, the sea truck is a cool midrange, but barely a few dozen, unless you add like 17 inventory modules, which you have to climb in to access, then it's slow as piss and barely enough storage for good gathering.

Somewhat insightful, I appreciated how you pointed out that the space croc undermines the threat early on. However the bulk of this review are problems with the console port (irrelevant to everyone else), a failure to understand the game mechanics, or complaining about the consequences of your own choices.

actually the seamoth was replaced with the snowfox and the cyclops was replaced with the seatruck.

Coming back months later to say the seatruck has its own dock that works with its other modules and it works pretty well as far as Ive seen. They are also porting things from below zero into the base original game including large rooms and certian QOL features. Switch version was really bad at release to be fair but the pc version doesnt have these issues and supports mods of which the FCS mods are hoping to update to Below Zero soon! Im a patreon member of FCS studios and I love being able to support them but also be able to play a bit early while also making sure some earlier obvious bugs get quashed!

Also not everyone in Below Zero that conversed died. Only the guard died in the cave in. The other characters were evacuated after marguit bombed the underwater outpost with the bacterium. She didnt do it maliciously, she did it to destroy the bacterium as the high temperatures would kill the kharra bacterium.
