In this 10th video of our DIY 48/48 rebuild series I cover the proper installation of the overdrive apply piston & the overdrive section itself. This finishes out the main transmission and gets us to the point of 1 final air check & end play measurement before we conclude the build by installing the valve body!

i used my feeler guage on my outer seal. worked great

I put everything back together…overdrive housing slid on but I went to put my transmission control lever to go through the gears and it won’t move…is it supposed to be like this when there is no fluid and not hooked up to the truck yet?

In the overdrive housing if you leave the wavy snap ring out and add another clutch in there is the clearance still the same as what you said in the video you did the over drive clearance?
