Everything Wrong with My 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora

Rear Shocks: 0:00-2:02

I love mine too. If you have any big oil leaks, it is an engine out procedure. Smart idea on shocks, mine still work. I do a partial change of power steering fluid every few years with a siphon pump. Same with brake fluid and transmission fluid. Use black silicone calking. Speaker wires could be separated because of wear and tear in wiring harness to door / opening and closing. I had the same trouble with my front passenger door losing power. Try changing / servicing transmission fluid and add Lucas transmission additive. It is known to help. Since many parts and repairs on this vehicle exceed the value of the vehicle, many owners just send them to the bone yard. I am like you; I will keep mine on the road - especially if there are no rust issues. Parts will be hard to find in the future. Cooling system service is critical - must have good coolant or the head bolts may corrode and fail. This causes head gasket failure - very expensive fix. If this happens to you, Northstar Performance Parts makes a nifty head stud kit for a proper fix. It is a Canadian business. You need a good mechanic to do this - it is an engine out service. If you ever need this, also have the oil gaskets replaced at the same time.

I feel you need to rule out the steering rack, as many years of GM products had that issue. Nice car. I say put the money you're comfortable spending into it, don't worry about what others say. The money you don't spend on a new vehicle can be incredible. Good luck!

One of the slickest looking modern cars ever in my opinion. Its a shame they put that piece of shit northstar v8 in it though. Should have been an LS like the Grand Prix GXP....
Totally agree. Wish they put in a 5.3 in there instead.
