  • Killswitch Engage's Jesse Leach has teamed with Revolver for "Flex Your Head," a new video-interview and podcast series where the singer dives deep into the inner workings of other musicians to try and find out what drives them to create. The premiere episode features Keith Buckley, lead vocalist and lyricist for metalcore stalwarts Every Time I Die. The two frontmen discuss formative influences, the value of humor and the challenge of channeling personal hardship into art.

"i genuinely feel like there are things that cant be conveyed in a pleasant voice" - i've been saying this for years to people who always ask "why do they scream all the time in metal music, cant they just sing?" ... the answer is no. no they can not. you're missing the point.

I was a private contractor in the worst shitholes in mexico and we used to jam SEEMLESS's "Lay my Burden Down" before we rolled out to do work. Jesse.....Damn, from our side of the fence, good on ya with Killswitch and all now but...dude, we have videos of massive engagements we got stuck (more like ambushed) in against Zetas and we were jamming "Maintain" in the background one day while we got hit. You can actually hear it as we pushed forward, despite taking three bad hits on our personnel. ETID's "Hot Damn", and SEEMLESS, as well as old Zao records like Ex Inferis etc, were the soundtrack to what we thought would be the last moments of our lives in really violent TICs. Lol...wow looking back now? We were nuts. Bunch of former frogs, EOD, San Diego LE tac team dudes, and even South African and Belgian SF veterans. Just getting busy with our pals in DyneCorp and just smokechecking these Zetas...these pieces of filth who raped and extorted poor Mex families. Fitting songs for a fitting end. Lol.
