Damn fact boy! Bit of a rehash this one.
Normally I would HATE when someone does sponsor spots for these pay to win bullshit crap games but don't care as much here..
But if you do these you might as well take that shadow legends money 💰
Conflict of nations... for when i want to continue the news segment while gaming.
North Korea has a haircut menu but Simon can't order anything on that menu.
And a huge shoutout to our sponsor today... Keeps!
💀💀💀
Ok this made me laugh
I guess I can't either, because I have a shaved head and a goatee 🤣
Maybe they have complimentary wigs for the follicley challenged.
only in north korea could someone say "what are you, the fashion police?" and get an unironic "yes" in response
Where being imprisoned by the fashion Police IS something to fear.
Not only North Korea, there's also Afghanistan, large parts of China, Iran, Saudi Arabia (And probably a few others I'm forgetting)
Iran also have fashion police.
But the fashion police are a secret police
Also in Iran or Saudi Arabia, but just for women.
Seasons changed at his birth? Sure. New star? Ok. Eleven holes-in-one? Fine. Operas? Novels? Possibly. Walking-talking eight month old? Absolutely. But bro did not invent the hamburger.
Yeah, I was all in on the accomplishments, but inventing the hamburger was where he lost me.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament." -- Dr. Evil
Sorry. It was the first thing that came to mind.
As a german i sadly have to inform all of you that we actually stole the hamburger idea from north korea.
The whole gig with the city called hamburg... it's all just lies to cover up our diet consisting of sauerkraut and nothing else.
Guy sounds a lot like Trump’s ridiculous nonsense….
@patpierce4854 no. Sounds like the media covering for biden. Biden has been the biggest disaster and failure ever and the media says he is doing a good job.
"North Korea's golf course." Note the singular. Just one golf course. 🤣
One ski hill too
One more than any of us own
And it's a public one to boot.
@@bdrenfro 'public' in socialist dictatorships tends to mean something other than it does in the west and elsewhere.

There are only three Ron Swanson approved haircuts: 1. High and Tight, 2. Crew Cut, 3. Buzz Cut. Are the sissors in your house broken son?

@@MatthewTheWanderer Me too! on that day I learned why people who work with hair have professional scissors..
@@ItsAweeb Lol. When I tried cutting my own hair, I ended up missing several small spots.
He also invented jet engines, electric lights and the Technicolor film process!
1976-1977, I was in South Korea...Camp Casey to be exact.
We got propaganda leaflets from the North on the regular...they were pretty funny!
My favorite were the oversized $10 bills..."Bring this to the North and get a real Ten Dollars!"
Yep, people just swarming to defect for ten bucks...
Kind of funny how the sponsor was “conflict of nations” does that ring a bell?
Just a happy little coincidence, am i right?

He Also does not poop. I ,no pun indented, shit you not. An escaped north Korean women gave an interview and that was one of the things she says that she used to believe. She said that he was so perfect that he used energy with amazing efficiency to the point where he did not have any waste or poop.
Kim Jong Il also invented the toilet, the hamburger, and the Internet. True story.
Thats a hilariously amazing concept for a fictional character
Wow! He would make the perfect patient. Imagine never having to break your back from putting patients on and off the bedpan.
North Korean defectors will say whatever they’re told to make some money.
Well, of course angels don’t take dumps, so why would the Divine Leader?
That hair pamphlet is some dictator level of trolling
The Fashion Police is the better Ultimate Dictatorial Trolling! 😂
The most insane, trolling part is how King Jong-Un's own haircut is NOT one of the approved hairstyles, lol. Only HE is allowed to have that style.
@@MatthewTheWanderer it was also called the Chinese smugglers haircut by a news outlet once
@@jesseincognito. What was? Kim Jong-Un's haircut?
@@MatthewTheWanderer yeah
Wait. You mean, "Team America: World Police" and "The Interview" have never been shown (legally) in North Korea? Shocking!
Why would he invent the hamburger when the vast majority of his people cannot eat one anyway?
Yo'ud think that hamburgers, just like jeans, would be considered the very epitome of Western capitalism. So claiming that he invented them seems rather strange.
@@reddwarfer999maybe it's a type of "I'll show those dirty capitalists by fooling my people that I invented it first!" Type deal
@@reddwarfer999 I think the idea was that he claims to have invented them so that other Koreans don't think he's being a hypocrite for eating them.

Simon is so big brained because he doesnt have any hair on his head sucking up his precious nutrients
Nah, his beard does that, instead. Notice how no one in North Korea seems to have a beard?
Simon is just BURSTING with nutrients.
Ever wonder how many times a week Great Leader wakes up at night in a raging cold sweat, from nightmares of Simon Whistler...
He's mad because he couldn't make SW stick to the haircut menu even if he could get him to come visit.😂😂😂
It is sad to think that right now, the people of North Korea are suffering at the hands of what I'd basically organized crime. I hope the people achieve liberty in their lifetime. Life under a tyrant is no life. I hope we in the USA don't have to find this out the hard way. 🙏🏻🙏🏻☮️ ☮️
Don’t believe everything you hear about DPRK
One of our two major candidates has expressed admiration for Kim Jong-Un, so…
@@gregbors8364that's the truly sad thing.
@gregbors8364 the only way he wins is if the russian troll farms convince progressives not to vote.
I use to support Trump because of his anti China stance, but you can't vote a guy who encourages Russia to attack your ally just because they don't pay you enough.
The hair thing explains why you have the energy to do all these videos
Conflict of nations... he finally caved to the fremium gaming sponsors.
I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time.
I'm glad you contextualized everything at the end. A lot of videos about how silly North Korea is fail to bring up how abjectly horrific it all is - in spite of the hilarity
I noticed that "bald" was not offered on the haircut menu; does that mean Simon, as a North Korean would be expelled?
Expelled from North korea isn't really an option ...
Three seconds in North Korea Simon would quip about something and would immediately be put in front of a firing squad. Then they'd jail him for being bald.
@@freddiemercury2075 They expel you from your life instead.
@@MosoKaiser"Killed, or worse... expelled"
Bald people get sent to prison, probably.

For a brief moment I though Simon was doing a collaboration with Max Millers Tasting History channel due to the thumbnail looking remarkably like Waffles 😂 Sadly no waffles, but I am sure this is as mesmerizing in a way only Simon can pull off...
Sadly, Simon Whistler doesn't do collabs.
Another "funny" propaganda they do is, when the world cup of football (soccer) comes around, even though North Korea doesn't actually get qualified, they show doctored matches showing North Korea winning the cup with like a 11-0 victory (which for anyone who doesn't know is an outrageous score that just doesn't happens in footbal of this level. France's 3-0 victory against Brasil in 1998 is still legendary for this reason). I'm sure they'll be doing the same with the 2024 summer olympics in Paris since they're even scheduled to compete
North Korea actually has qualified for the World Cup twice, in 1966 and 2010. In 1966, they actually won a game and ended up in 8th place. In 2010, they lost every game they played, including one game where they lost 0-7 to Portugal, lol. Not sure how they reported all this to their people, though.
@@MatthewTheWandererwasn't it also played live as well. Got to wonder what they did then.
@@ccman322 They probably didn't let people in North Korea watch it.
When short on ideas there's always North Korea to fall back on.

Welcome to the Whistlerverse.
Love that bald isn't on the menu 😂
I see that the "Glorious Leader"'s haircut doesn't appear on that "menu".
Neither does "bald".
I saw Clive James get a hairpiece in his "Postcard from L.A." episode - they called it a "hair unit".
Might be time for a North Korea-approved "hair unit" ay, Simon?
( Just kidding! )
The "Glorious Leader's" haircut is intentionally left off the menu, because only Kim Jong-Un himself is allowed to have it.
Oooh now we get snipbits from the long lost, but not forgotten Business Blaze NorthKorea Skript 🤫

Without actually seeing the golf course, I can’t agree that eleven holes-in-one is ridiculous.

This has been done loads
I've seen you do it a few times already...
I tell myself they're just creating a shell game for the eventual video wherein they expound on Kim's mother being Japanese. Like, say more on why it matters.
@@kneau Yeah, somehow, this is the first time I've heard of Kim Jong-Un being half-Japanese.
When I glanced at the thumbnail I thought it was corporate approved hairstyles in USA in the Fifties. I think I saw something in a documentary that mentioned that some time ago. 😂😂😂
Love your videos and often fall asleep to them, but your "s" sounds are often really sharp in the mix
I was curious so looked up Jongun's mother. Having studied a lot of Korean history, this was the first time I've heard his mother was Japanese. Her name is Ko Yonghui and she was born to a Korean father in Osaka, Japan. This isn't unusual, the Japanese army moved Koreans all over the place so there are Korean descendants in Japan and Uzbekistan. Her mother is supposedly Japanese but I can't find a name. Her father, reportedly Ko Gyontaek. Worked in a sewing factory run by Japan's ministry of war so that definitely didn't win her any points either, whether her father was forced or had no other options or not.
I'm just surprised Kim Ilsung didn't arrange for something tragic to happen to her before she started popping out babies...It isn't like she gave birth to his first grandkids, Kim Jong IL had other children
"You get haircut! Rook rike Moe!!!"
Simon! This is like Rage Shadow Legends! Lol
Love CON!
What an interesting ad for this video
Imagine you're the most dedicated North Korean citizen, you make sure your approved haircut is PERFECT, but then they add it to the unapproved haircut list and you're executed.
“Where are you, dear general”.

Are these excerts from the infamous BB North Korea video?
I always love these North Korea videos. Not often that I get to "What the F" multiple times in such a short span of minutes.
We will never know whether or not this is THE North Korean episode.
So North Korea is in the year 112? That explains a lot.
I might need to go to NK to get a decent haircut
In North Korea they have the Kim's,in America we have Kim Kardashian. I'm curious if they would make a trade straight across? If N. Korea needs an incentive, maybe I could start a GoFundMe.
I honestly Dont know how to feel when Simon introduce the sponsor Keeps.
It would be pretty cool if the first Kim was legitimately a God or Demi-God but his son and grandson have significantly less power. So much less in fact the whole world thinks the first Kim was liar lol

How does one find this child eating Godzilla movie made by kidnapped film makers?

I think it’s funny that it’s some kind of allegory of how communism was supposed to help nk but didn’t
Has anyone ever wondered how wild would Kim's LinkedIn profile be? Inventor of cheeseburger, world's best golfer, grandson of god etc...
I wonder why the escapee at 1:01 even bothered shutting that door...
*The 1976 tree chopping caused allot of NK's paranoia* As if that single tree hid entire battalions, one of the largest trees left over from the Korean Wars and winters, surviving being cut into fire wood all those many years, just to be chopped down through a single JSA Jr officer's ego tangent. Some of North Korea's paranoia has roots, in the end leaving no party involved blameless.
Jeans arent banned in nk. Or at least not anymore. If u go to nk for whatever reason, u'll see the nk citizens wearing jeans and nike shoes in the streets

On the subject of haircuts a while ago a barber in I believe London put up an ad for his business taking the mickey out of Kim Jong Un's haircut. Soon after he was visited by two men from the Korean Embassy demanding he take it down or they'd have him arrested for disrespecting the dear leader. The barber told them to take a hike which eventually they did and presumably later they called the police who presumably also told them to take a hike. While that story is funny to me it also sums up just how consumed by propaganda they are that these guys thought they could walk up to a business in a foreign country and start throwing their weight around. Must have been a shock to the system for the two "officials" when they didn't get there way and I can't imagine it was any fun explaining it to their bosses.
Those cuts go kinda hard though 🥵

about birthdays used for calendar, in Japan they still use different years based on eras of each emperor's reign while also using the "western" calendar years, and celebrate currently reigning emperor's birthday as a public holiday - of which there can't be enough of, as people are still reluctant to use their actual holiday days and work really hard.
tho, reigning years is more of a tradition and after wwii monarchy in Japan is more symbolic, and in contrast, in N Korea it's a cult of personality, which, from my "western" pov, is not very admirable.
Damn it's been a fucking long time since Simon last had a video game ad
The saddest part about this is that there are people here in the west who see the authoritarian dystopia in North Korea and other communist countries both contemporary and historical and think "that's what we need here". Utter madness.

3:22 North Korea’s golf course? Like singular? Does North Korea have one single golf course? Idk why but that’s a funny thought

Shouldn't Conflict of Nations sponsor War-O-graphics? Seems a natural fit...
can you prove any of this supreme leader?
trust me bro- the kims probably lol
I don't think they do, at least not completely. I think they really believe that they are that superior and that they are entitled to lead and be worshiped only the way a god or king would be. I think all of us not in that chaos can see the BS for what it is. But if you were perpetually brainwashed in that environment, "green" will become "blue" and you wouldn't even notice it.
Very heavy, nearly as restricted as Scotland and Canada.
I share my birthday with kim jong un.
Thanks for ruining my birthday for the rest of my life.
I just tried conflict of nations but I cant even get past the tutorial.
When governments/regulations starts to get too intrusive, it gets sad long before it gets funny, in Japan most of the schools have strict code of appearance that includes clothing and hair color and student underwear color, one girl with naturally brown hair was forced by the school to dye her hair black as per the dress code, that caused a chemical burn on the head, the parents sued the school, but nothing came of it as the court in regards to the school rules, however the girl was awarded some compensation.
What’s wrong with a dress code again? Not your country.
@@gambitacio Nothing wrong with dress code, per se, but when some pedantic moron start chasing you with a ruler because your this or that is slightly out of whack with their rules, it gets stupid, I am from ex-communist country, guess what, uniforms, check, government sanctioned haircuts, check, beating the snot out of you because you didn't have time to shave in the morning before school, and got stubble, check. I gave the Japanese case as an example because, it is recent, utterly pathetically stupid and makes sense in the head on some god forsaken bureaucrat.
There are schools in the west with dress codes too. Thats fine, its kids in school. They don't control what people wear outside of school. Forced hair dyeing, I don't buy that ...
The approved haircut menu are just 15 slightly different versions of the stereotypical asian incel haircut
We can be certain that the Kim family is below average in the wedding tackle department. 😂

Clearly they've cured baldness because it's not one of the approved styles. Just sayin'.
Could I pull off a Kim cut? Probably. I'm a military veteran. Now could I pull off a Simon? No. My skull and mesiofacial fractures mean I gotta hide behind all the hair I have. (Keep your Hair with Keeps. They are a sponsor. I was not paid to say that, I just pay attention when Simon talks)
The funny thing is that the North Korean "skin fade" style haircut has become quite popular all around the world.
Yup, this is what happens to a country when you let one person, group, etc, rule with all power. The people suffer, you either gover yourself so you have freedom. Or you're a slave, kinda simple, really. Wish more people understood this, vote for yourself, and care about who runs the ship or else the "captain" might toss you off the "ship." Places like North Korea will get overthrown one day when someone is born who is more than happy to die to be free, but by some miracle simply doesn't die and builds a very angry army. On a day like that, it's going to be a very bad day to king in that country.
I’m the smartest, most crever, most physicarry fit; but no one erse seems to rearize it..

ive always wondered how can one man control the masses?
He doesn't. He uses others who are willing to do the dirty work.
