It's important to note that IF a child goes missing NO MATTER the country: IF the police don't take you seriously, go to the media immediately. That'll get the attention of the police. Good or bad, I don't know but it will get their attention. Could you be the one arrested for doing that? Depends on the country that you're doing it in so be careful & do NOT lie about such things. Don't inflate the time missing. Just use all of the facts, get the most recent photo, especially if you have one of what they were wearing at the time they disappeared. You also want two photos of their faces...one with them smiling naturally (not forced) & one with their faces relaxed. Morbid, I know, but helpful to investigators & to the public when the story gets spread.

Unfortunately, in some countries the media is either censured or controlled by the government, so going there to complain can be useless or dangerous.

The media is more corrupt than the police, lol. While all your items sound good at heart alot of times facts just rumbled up in all the chaos. No one looks at a clock all day long. You might have left at 2PM when you actually thought the person left closer to 4PM. I doubt you remember everything you did a few days ago and what times you did it. Sure you'll remember the big ones like if you went to see a movie or something but could you remember who you passed by walking into the theaters and what the person looked like who sold and checked your ticket days later? This is where facts get messed up.
You should write everything down you remember as soon as possible and keep a log. Never assume anything to be fact unless your 100% certain.

You mean that doesn’t happen? Either the police are dum or they’re covering for someone. The fact that they tore up the crime scene before the people who knew how to handle it showed up is suspicious. Again either they’re dum or they’re covering up. Considering that one of the boys was probably shot by a high ranking person at the base (only high ranking people would have been there at the time because of the holiday), it’s not unreasonable for them to have the police in their back pocket. I think only one of the boys were shot to death. So it was likely a terrible accident to shot and kill one of the boys. But the killer maybe panicked and killed the rest of the boys because they knew what happened. The boys were playing nearby the base so that’s at least possible. Otherwise the rest of the boys would have been killed in the same manner instead of only one being shot
Also very strange that everyone and their uncle was looking for the boys yet somehow missed the obvious bodies that the searchers must’ve passed over dozens of times. So the bodies were placed after the searching stopped. The boys weren’t placed in a bag and thrown away. For lack of better phrasing cause I can’t think of anything better, the boys were gently placed where they were found. Suggesting more that this was initially an accident and not someone seeking how to hurt these boys. If that makes any sense
Unfortunately, Antoinette's story is very familiar to people who live in NM and AZ. Native women go missing at an alarming rate and the police are always dismissive about it. Many of their families have claimed their loved ones get sold into sex trafficking. This story has been repeated many times since it happened to Antoinette.

After the crime that was the McGirt ruling, local (non-tribal) law enforcement doesn't have jurisdiction on reservations so they are going to waste their resources on it anymore. If they have to hold the perpetrator in local/county lock-up, and wait years for it to go through tribal/Federal courts, why would they waste their time.

Saying things as vague as this gives off a misleading vibe. 9/10 Native American women go missing on reservations. Which falls under the jurisdiction of tribal law enforcement. Most of the time they deny outside help from the FBI and other law enforcement. It’s a shame and very sad but most problems Native Americans deal with come from within. They are sovereign nations within a nation. Most have extremely corrupt politicians making the lives of their people very harsh while they live a lavish lifestyle. For example, most of the people on the Navajo Reservation don’t have running water let alone CLEAN water. The electrical grid is very sporadic leaving people with no electricity for days and sometimes weeks. They are very critical of fossil fuel production claiming it is harmful to Mother Earth BUT allow literal foreign companies from Germany and the UK to come extract helium, oil and gas, and coal from their lands. They also let several coal power plants operate on their land making the air quality horrific. Their people are poor and drive roughly between 1.5-6 hrs daily for work when they could stop allowing these foreign companies to come in and build companies to produce themselves. In turn making THOUSANDS of jobs available for their people and bring in trillions (yes literal trillions) of $ each year. Instead, their corrupt government makes shady back alley deals with these companies for stock and royalties paid to foundations. While the people of the Navajo Nation live in poverty and their women go missing and shady companies pollute their land due to no oversight and no consideration their president drives a Range Rover and lives in a million dollar home.
I live close by and have been intertwined with these people my entire life. If you don’t believe me look into this stuff for yourselves. I even worked for a company on the NN producing helium. Let’s just say I didn’t just leave that company because I hated the job, I didn’t want to be involved in something that is “ALLEGEDLY” illegal.
I usually don't get angry or upset but hearing police or people of authority not taking missing people or distress seriously never fails to hit me hard

I'm a server, and people are weird. I agree that it totally sounds like her, but we're thinking in the context of the story. Often, when we're at work, we just want the shift to be over so we can go home. Deeply saddening; I can't imagine what I've missed

I wouldn't say a 15 year old is a "child" in the context of "children are weird". If she's squeezing your hand, and you look at her, how does she look? Does it look like she's missing a chromosome or maybe she's been a hostage for years and any decent human being should be able to see the torture in her eyes.
Henry McCabe grew up in Liberia in the 80s and 90s. He experienced many horrific things, including coups, insurgencies, and civil war. It sounds to me like he got really drunk and had some kind of flashback, during which he fell in the water and drowned, sadly.
I really hope that was the case (as horrible as that might have been). The alternatives are to disturbing to think about.
After working in hotels for a better part of a decade I can say this with confidence. If anyone is inconveniently interrupted with their life, they are likely to ignore a person in distress and label them as weird. I have seen company meetings (at the hotel in a meeting room, not affiliated with the hotel company) where a women tried to bring up sexual assault allegations inside the company and was completely ignored by the CEO and directors.
Another case where my front desk agent complained how a little girl was making a scene and the "grandfather" was 'gruff'. I reviewed the cameras saw it was suspicious and called the police. They attempted to do a wellness check, but it seemed that they never used the room at all.

Yeah, I'd also slowly freeze to death for sure rather than walk 5 mins back to my home... I really had to check I'd been listening to the video properly at that point.
Also under training of police or planed incompetentence. I have just read the manufacturering of consent the politicalization of mass media. It's an interesting read and my phone just stopped when writing this comment even though I have good security on it.
People need to start caring. That waitress just ignored the poor girl. I saw a video of a women being assaulted my a mentally ill man on a subway. She was screaming. Please somebody help me! And everyone just ignored her. Able bodied men were around. The most someone could do was video tape it. We need to all actually do better.

Henry's story is so shocking to me, because I live very close where he was found. My high-school was right next to the park that the lake is in. I have told my friends and family of the murder, and they said they never heard of it either. It's so shocking that it happened at a park where I go walking often and the small lake is a common place for bird watchers and people with dogs.
The thing that is super weird to me is that that area of the park is much more secluded from residential areas than other places, and it is impossible to drive into that area at night because there is a gate. Near the lake right outside of the park is an apartment building and a hotel, as well as a freeway on ramp to I35. Where he was found was too far and too awkward of a place for a drunk person to stumble on their own. Plus, the gas station he was pictured at is a town over and a few miles from the place he died. If this was of his own doing, he would have had to walk up a very large hill drunk at night, as well as walk through a regional park with minimal lighting. I think something sinister happened.
I had an interest in this case when I learned about it. I found out that Henry McCabe was mentally ill. He was prone to "psychotic breaks." In the voicemail, the "growling" doesn't happen anytime he's speaking. It really sounds like he's making those sounds. The voicemail, in its entirety, can be found if you look hard enough. I think Mr. McCabe had an "episode", and something unfortunate ended up happening to him.
I remember reading a article in a military magazine that a Chief Humphries who served in South Korea said something about the Frog Boys had accidently come across North Korean spies observing the nearby military base and were killed by them.

Once again, the past was definitely the worst. I couldn't imagine being one of the Korean parents whose kids went missing. I'm often thankful that forensics and policing have improved in the past 40 years (especially).

The final one is a very sad case, if she's still alive, she's probably locked up somewhere, if she's dead, that's just a pure tragedy, and a huge rope of guilt round the neck of that poor waitress who probably still to this day has those "what if...?" thoughts... :(
If truth be told it’s probably better off for her if she’s dead. The things she seen, and had done to her to the point that death was more than likely a godsend. I know it’s cold blooded, but that poor girl has more than likely seen horrors that no human was ever meant to see. I remember reading about a serial killer who was operating in that general area who was a Sexual Sadist. Like BDSM kinda Sadism. I’ve always been able to understand and even justify violence, but a VERY Hard set of rules that I do live by and the three protected groups of people that I can’t justify is violence towards Children, Disabled, and the Elderly!! Because those three groups of people that cannot protect themselves.
I hope that waitress is tortured by those 'what if' thoughts to ignore something so glaringly obvious. If it was just knocking the silverware off once or twice that's one thing, but repeated cases plus that hand squeezing? The fuck does that woman need to know something is wrong? A neon sign? She failed that girl. Hard.

Most people don't want to get involved. My ex abducted our 14 month old son as we were going through divorce. He left a note saying I wouldn't see him again until he was 17 years old.
They were found in S. Carolina almost a year later. An alert cop saw my ex walking down the street and stopped him on a hunch. He quickly learned that he was on FBI most wanted list (he committed several crimes besides the abduction). He still refused to tell where my son was, or even if he was still alive. Later that evening, a daycare center called police when a 2 year old boy wasn't picked up, it was him of course.
When cops questioned the daycare workers, they all agreed that something seemed off about "the boy and his daddy" and had even discussed the possibility of kidnapping. The daycare owner asked my ex what happened to "the boy's" mother, he told them I was dead so they dropped it and didn't ask anymore questions.
Millions of postcards with both their photos went out across the country (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children do this). I found out that town had thousands of those go out in the mail, so the daycare likely got one.
They told me they didn't want to be impolite to a customer.
My son had a lot of illnesses and accidents during that time, and he was very thin. My ex wouldn't change his diapers, so he got rash so bad he had blisters and had to be treated by a doctor. The daycare people thought that was all normal, apparently.
"They died together so we wanted them to play together forever in the afterlife."... Damn onions!

It's graphic, like parents standing over piles of bones graphic, and also infuriating that the police botched the investigation SO badly. Plus, when you see the toll it took on the surviving parents, it breaks your fucking heart. One of the parents said in the doc: "It is said that when your parents die, you bury them in the ground. But when your children die, you bury them in your heart." I hope they find the truth before they pass on.
Thank you. I've seen this documentary and it's the best on this case. It seems korean police and rescue operators are pretty poor. Another frustrating case and tragedy that could easily have been avoided if it wasn't for the ineptitude of their govt and rescue operators is the sewol ferry disaster.

The incident took place on board the Kaohsiung-registered longliner Ping Shin No. 101 when it was operating in the Indian Ocean off the Somali coast on Sept. 29, 2012.
I always wondered why the last episode was never aired of the docu-series that figured out what actually happened. It was great that someone took the time and risk to expose his crime.
The story of Henry McCabe is completely horrific and I've heard the bit of the audio that has been made public. Crime Junkies covered the story. The sound 100% sounds like a taser too me which would both explain why he said he'd been shot AND would explain the lack of visible wounds. Two little holes could easily be missed on a swollen body or a hand held stun gun could've been used which also wouldn't have left marks
There was already an arrest in the first case (Wang Fengyu) in 2020. His sentence was actually reduced from 26 to 13 years just today.
There is a fully released version of Henry McCabe's phone call. I'd suggest watching Missing Enigma's breakdown of the case, as it's the most comprehensive out there.
You can see that there are other ships near them. reports are the deceased were PAKISTANI fishermen. It seems the captain thought they were pirates when they were actually only fishermen !!!. "safety in numbers" seems to refer to the practice of the fishing fleet being numbered rather than named. This may mean that the company name is on the ship and so show that the company cares for the safety of the crew... because if it were to be run into disaster, the publicity would hurt the company.

As a native New Mexican, 4 years older than Anthonette Cayadeto, and because I share a name with her sister, this case touches me rather personally. I feel inadequate in saying that I wish things had gone better for her, though there's really nothing else to say. 😢
To give the first guy benefit of the doubt... he may have put it on the internet so that, if anything happened to the original, it would be out in the wild where it would presumably be shared and therefore safe from deletion (whether by accident, corrupt law enforcement, etc.)

Unfortunately, kidnappings and keeping the children prisoners are far more common than you'd think. I remember the case with the girl kept in the basement for years. There are probably hundreds of kidnapping cases that remain unsolved. So hard to think about the terrible things that happen right under our noses.
Rest In Peace to those that passed away. I hope mysteries are solved the criminals are brought to justice. I hope the missing people are okay.

The captain of the fishing vessel was charged with the murder of the 4 pirates and was sentenced to 26 year prison term last year.
I’m glad those innocent pirates trying to hijack a shipping vessel got justice for their unjust slayings…. Those on the ship clearly forced those pirates to drive out and use weapons to attempt to take the crew hostage. RIP you innocent ak47 holding pirates….

@@--enyo-- Correct that laughing while killing anyone is wrong, but in a court of law, if a bunch of pirates assault your boat shooting at you with assault rifles, and mind you the pirates are laughing their azzes off while they do this fully intent on killing you....I think it is self defense it you kill them.
@@Hollylivengood I do think in a court of law you aren’t allowed to execute someone with their hands up. At that point what are they defending themselves from? If they killed them during the attack then sure, but it’s hard to prove you fear for your life when the other person has their hands up.
Regarding Henry McCabe's story, it's possible that by shot they were referring to getting injected with something as some people refer to getting vaccinated as getting shot. Maybe they were forced to take some kind of drug or poison? And after two months, there is no way to find a trace of a needle mark unless the needle broke off inside of them which is unlikely
BB gun, lot's of drunk people think it's a real gun. He probably got shot then chassed by some racist's that were making that sound monkey or gorilla noises and Chewbacca? possibly 3 people. 3 people could easily hold someone down or with a branch nearby ( so not to get wet) and after 2 months in a swamp the body is going to be so rotten and decayed that it would be nearly impossible to find.
Hate to play the internet sleuth but maybe he was in some way present to someone else getting shot.
I live in the area and remember this hitting the local news. As far as I recall, there were no reports of gunshots that night. The voicemail is one of the most disturbing things I have ever listened too - and the shear panic and chaos leads me to believe that whatever happened wasn't a "shot" of the injection variety. Maybe knowledge of the area biases my opinion, but the audio is equal parts terrifying and mystifying.

I mean, he’s older than the usual drunk man who goes swimming drunk and drowns. And people usually don’t say “stop it“ when they are alone.

In our A&E (ER in American) our attack screens don’t cover everything unless we specifically look for them.
We will look for a natural opium narcotic like heroin but the majority of semi-synthetic and synthetic opioids can be missed. We rarely test for PCP and, even when tested for, LSD is usually missed.
the channel Missing Enigma did a video on it that has the full voice mail recording and it really doesnt sound like Henry's saying anything at all just weird drunken screaming. Its worth a watch, he goes into more detail about the case.
It sounds like a psychotic break to me, I doubt foul play is involved. I was also wondering about a toxicology test, something like PCP could definitely cause something like that.

Your videos are probably the best history videos on youtube, it just really sucks that the audio quality is so inconsistent. I could barely hear you with my headphones full volume but the ad at the end almost blew my eardrums out. Great content I just wish I could enjoy it consistently.

in reference to the first entry, you should absolutely read "The Outlaw Ocean" by Ian Urbina. Fascinating read and this was referenced in the book.
There was an investigation done by a journalist and made into a multipart TV documentary. They identified the people from both vessels. The supposed pirates we not pirates at all. At grate risk they identified and tracked down the Taiwan captain. However, the final episode that was to show the confrontation of the Taiwan captain was never aired. There's been a lot of speculation about why.
They might solve it one day. I mean the eventually solve the South Korean serial killer case, that they've dubbed the Ted Bundy of South Korea.
I doubt the military is ever going to admit to this nasty of a cover up.

The man that thought he'd been shot? had clearly been stung or bitten by something and he had a reaction. Add to that being drunk? you may very well think you'd been shot. The growling could of been himself - or a wild animal taking advantage of his situation.
The "growling" sounds a lot like a very drunk person asphyxiating. I have heard people who were passed out drunk make similar sounds, and they were NOT drowning at the time.
I've listened to the audio and it sounds like a voice distorted by water. The shot sound could have easily been a branch he stepped on breaking.

Perspective from the area it happened in: Snow mobiles sound a lot like a weird animals, and people are likely to shoot warning shots near trespassing snow mobilers because of the damage they do to land. November would likely mean low snow and maybe some thin ice he'd flee onto.
i was stung by a wasp once in the back. i swear it felt as though someone threw a spear at me so it is possible for someone to think they had been shot.

I'm surprised I had to scroll so much to find anyone else commenting on this. What I'm hearing isn't simple overall low sound but really bad leveling between the vocal and music tracks. Like at 8:20 I had the volume cranked high just to make out what Simon was saying, then a few seconds after the transition music comes in like frikkin THUNDER.
It's not just this video either, I've been noticing it on other Sideprojects the past few days, but all Simon's other channels are fine. As for why it's been just the past few days, I don't know. I often dont' even notice which of Simon's channels a title is in, just go on whether it sounds interesting and see Simon's face in the thumbnail, lol. So maybe my feed only recently started recommending Sideprojects. But that seems doubtful, so I wonder if something happened on CZcams's end that changed how the leveling sounds on this channel. That would explain why I can't find any comments about it back when the video first uploaded.
Some videos about that strange voicemail actually play a segment of the voicemail and it is super creepy.

I feel like Henry drowned. The “growling” heard was actually gurgling (I’ve heard it and sounds like gurgling to me). He was drunk, confused he fell in the river and drowned. That’s my theory anyway.
I live very close to where he died, and I am very acquainted with the park he died at. There is a very slim chance that he could have staggered drunk to that area and died, especially at night by himself. That area of the park would be closed at night, and the road is locked by a gate. It's also not bordering a very popular residential or business area of town, although there is one apartment building overlooking it. There is also a hotel right there, and it is close to a highway on ramp. Even then, the gas station he was last spotted at is miles away from the spot he was found, so he couldn't have walked there on his own drunk and in the dark.
@Kaya Kat I don’t know what the layout is because I’ve never seen the area, but I think you’re severely underestimating someone’s ability to get lost at night while drunk.

Tell you the truth, gallup NM is only 15 mins away from the Navajo Nation border. There has been numerous stories of people stealing navajo girls to sell on the black market.

I read of a case in L.A. where a doctor and his nurse were found naked and dead, in a park. The police didn't know anything about them, not how they died, where, or why. Tried looking this fifty year old mystery up recently, but nothing!
How did they know they were a nurse and a doctor if they were dead and naked in a park and the police knew nothing about them?

This reminds me of the case of the adulterous couple found dead in an isolated park beside Lane Cove River, Sydney , Australia, on New Years Day... the best theory being that in that summer the river was so polluted that the warmth of summer, could have been 35 C through the night, and the still of the night in the the area being sheltered by a thick forest growing in a deep valley, created conditions that the air beside the river with too strong concentration of the deadly gas Hydrogen Sulphide.
@@--enyo-- He means that they had no leads, like drug use, cause of death, what they were wearing which might give them a clue where they were before the park , or why they were in the park.. whether someone had disposed of bodies there or they died in the park. that sort of thing. Obviously their identity would be established by the various means .. like they had a car nearby which had their clothes in it, and that sort of thing. The show would introduce the case like that, then show what the police do to identify the bodies ... to suggest police make no assumptions... that they ensure they get their facts correct.

When I was a child living in Toronto Canada I got lost . I was perhaps four or five. Anyway I still remember some people who seemed like grown ups sitting on a front porch drinking beer . I was walking along crying my eyes out and they asked me if I was lost . I said yes. They laughed and told me to keep walking . I am told I walked for about four hours based on the distance. Finally I found a gas station and asked for help. I got it. Still I will never forget the terrible people most likely teens that did not help me

So I listened to the Henry McCabe recording and it doesn't sound like growling, but rather someone yelling when there's water entering their lungs. More like a gurgle. Possibly he was being held down in a river by someone or something that was giving him just enough air to breathe and shout momentarily and then being forced back under the water.
Should also mention I only heard a 15-second clip of the recording, so there might be something I missed.
I thought it sounded like gurgling too.

I’m sure the first mystery was solved by a Nat Geo series called lawless oceans, it turned out that the “pirates” were more than likely Iranian fishermen who had went missing, they found the Taiwanese fishing vessel, it’s crew and captain and some of the mercenaries who were their anti pirate protection

I live in a neighboring city of moundsview Minnesota. Rush lake is atleast 45 miles away from moundsview.....in a town called rush city.

I live in New Brighton which is the town next to Moundsview and where Rush lake is located. Henry’s death is the subject of local speculation and legend since we don’t have any large local wildlife.

The frog boys case is so weird, and random. That many boys being targeted in the mountains and murdered is so crazy. Wonder what the motive would of been. And that waitress had to be so fucking stupid, sorry but just being honest. Absolutely no common sense whatsoever!!! So Frustrating knowing people are out there that could potentially save so many lives and be great witness and they just fail the victims so hard!!!

The last story is particularly disturbing and sad.
I'm certain the first one isn't pirates. It's unlikely pirates would target a fishing boat as it's not very valuable. In Bruce Chatwin's book, Slow Boat to China, he describes one boat crossing where someone explains that he could risk pirates, terrorists or the navy. So he hopes for the navy. Oh no, says his helper - the pirates want money and contraband and probably won't kill you. The terrorists want money and ammunition and probably won't kill you. Neither want to waste bullets, but if they do they will use knives. The navy want money, contraband and ammunition and will definitely kill you - and blame it on pirates or terrorists. Chatwin was lucky and was boarded by pirates who took his money and boots.
So I would say the phone belonged to a navy person, who is more likely to take a taxi than a pirate. Also explains the lack of enthusiasm to investigate the murder.

I loved the episode,as Simon,you,and your colleagues always provide top notch entertainment for everyone,but I just can't help but be bothered by this being a Side Projects video.It feels to be better geared towards a decoding the unknown,or brainblaze entry.
