If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.

Things like SEO and outbound are slowly becoming more important though.
Alex you have given me a lot of value. One of your last videos talked about looking at your Ads and essentially most of the ones that were working were social proof or AD -Eucational . Giving value or proofing value to show you know what you are talking about. Who is still using lookalike audiences?????? in 2024?

Please advise.
1. What are the core subject areas that a person should focus on and master despite any industry/business they are in (I.e. Sales, Finance, etc...) that have the most ROI and what things are best to be delegated to professionals?
2. How do we define the limitations in our learning that we don't over-focus on a subject that could be or would be delegated to someone else (I.e. taxation) to utilize Time(24 Hours) wisely ?
3. Could you teach an end-to-end business loop, from Ideations to Market Research to Analysis to Test to Launch to Growth and etc ?

Hi Alex, I would like to ask about a specific segment:
We are beginners in sales at retail stores (Czech Republic, but that’s not important). We sell fresh salad mixes, leafy greens, etc. Of course, your advice is helpful, but could you provide some adjustments? For example, in this segment, it’s hard to decide what exactly affects product sales. Is it the season, labels, or sales promotions? How to structure content, ADs atc. around retail product?
The retail segment is really big, and many companies want to get into it, but not many videos are made about this.

Alex i watch all your stuff. I am in the house flipping biz. We need people to sell us houses so its a slighlty different type of offer and aquisition. Aquiring customers to sell houses is the easy part. Could you cover your opinion on this type of biz (flipping) weather its houses, cars, bikes, etc. Getting leads on people selling to you instead of leads to sell to them. Much appreciated brother!

You've done amazing things... and you are still missing IT. And you know that you are still missing IT.
Alex, I started sending out case studies for the businesses I am pitching. The case studies take a minmun of 15-20 minutes to research and fill in. Meaning each business is getting a custom case study. I've sent out over 100 so far. Should this be something I offer in a VSL and send out a standard version with all of the research I have done in the market? I don't want to send crap but I am also only one man doing everything in the business.

What are PPC terms?
Pay per click. The terms he's referring to are brand-specific terms. So if your company is mduck, running ads for "MDuck" when people start searching it enough.
Do you have any formulas for avatar and targeting in Ads? Is it just "guessing" untill I get good enough to be able to do more experienced guesses?

That’s when you as company paying for every click your customers clicks on your Ads.
You can bid for keywords as well or have automated highest paid for “specific terms” to over drive intentional traffic to your offer
