    The logo on the GIMP Series is better than the actual logo of Gimp.

    Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I'm learning Gimp as a hobby. You are a great teacher.
    If you click a dot node and want to undo it, I believe you can do so by pressing backspace as well, instead of ctrl+z

    you can add layer mask using shift-click on layers (but it adds your last selected option full transparency or full opacity)

      It's a font I used. Just have to grab the text tool and add some text at the bottom.

    To delete a selection on a Mac use the keys: fn + delete and it works like the delete key on a windows machine.

    The brush tool is not working for me for some reason. I checked the settings and matched it but still no luck. Can't figure what's the problem. The masked layer is selected.

    A great guide. I have a question, is it worth making a logo in gimp since it is a raster graphics program? Shouldn't you use inkscape for a logo?

    Hey Nick, love the tutorial. Super easy to follow.
    I'm not sure if you will ever see/reply to this but I'm having some trouble.
    When I go to 'Oilify' my picture, it doesn't do anything! It is only doing it for one of my pictures, too. I tried 3 other ones and it worked for all of them but for some reason it isn't for the only one I actually want to use! Go figure! lol I just wanted to know why that might be.

      If you're doing a lot with vectors, Inkscape may be a better program, and you can easily move things from Inkscape to Gimp.

    Do you already use the new version of GIMP, Nick? I'm thinking of downloading it, but I'm not sure if my dark background will still work as it should...

      It uses a dark theme by default now following a trend of many Linux multimedia editing tools that are following on Adobe's footsteps. I don't say that in a pejorative way, though. If there is a setting where using a dark color scheme makes perfect sense, it is when editing images.

    So I'm having an issue, that when I try to remove the image behind my selected area, the selected area visibility is removed as well. What am I missing? I've done everything step by step with the video.
