    • @BroughBuilt
      @BroughBuilt  Před 4 lety

      Cool man. You should do it! It was very gratifying to give new life to her. Polishing the headlights is a four step process: first I sand them with 1000grit wet paper till even and matt, then I use compound (like car burnishing compound. Toothpaste will also work). Then polish with car polish. Lastly spray on some Pledge (or any other furniture cleaner) and buff off. Voila!

(Their black on this scooter here) I found a lovely vintage inspired scooter second-hand for a good price, it‘s working perfectly, but sadly the darkbrown plastic parts are faded by the sun in colour. The rest looks totally fine. I‘m not sure how to fix the sun damaged parts as I‘ve never done any restoration on scooters before 🥴

    • @BroughBuilt
      @BroughBuilt  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi. You can buy a "plastic primer" from hardware stores. They even come in aerosol. Rustoleum makes a good product. Just sand the raw plastic part with 600gritt water sanding paper, paint the primer, then after it has dried sand it lightly with 600gritt again just to scuff it evenly and then paint with whatever color aerosol you choose.
