SW:TOR - HK-47 boss fight (The Foundry HM, solo)

- This video features the boss fight against HK-47 in the Foundry flashpoint from Star Wars: The Old Republic. Note that I ran the fp on hard mode and solo (I didn't use even a companion) at level 60.
While it's indeed a pleasure to find one of my favorite character from the Old Republic series inside the MMORPG and a boss fight no less, HK-47 is a serious pain in the arse in basically every incarnation of the Foundry (normal or hard mode) and at any level. Simply put, either your damage dealers are in the top of their game and your healer can dish out heals where and when it counts or you are in for a rude awakening. Not only HK-47 is the hardest boss of the Foundry, but even of several pug flashpoints after him.
The boss will cycle between two attack patterns, excluding the very beginning of the game, where he will just stand still to take damage:
- Once HK-47's health has been reduced to a certain amount, he will fade away and summon two extermination droids. Unlike the ones from the bosses of previous flashpoints, these adds are extremely dangerous, being two strong enemies, and should be focused on by the dps. While you deal with the adds, HK-47 will appear in a random corner of the arena and start sniping the party. Since the focus of your group is on the adds, HK-47 will basically pick targets at random and inflict great damage on them, so the healer must learn to prioritize. If you defeated the adds quickly, you can track down HK-47 and attack him. After dealing with the droids and/or having dealt enough damage to him, the boss wil enter stealth once more
- Hk-47 will reappear in the centre of the arena and will lower the room's power core, attempting to empower himself. Once the core has been completely lowered, the party must destroy the four locks around it, which will open the core and disengage it from HK-47. If the party doesn't manage that, the boss will recive a massive damage boost, gain other sniper's attacks and possibly, in due time, one-shot the entire party. After the core has been lifted it's possible to focus the dps on HK-47 till he'll go into stealth again, summon another pair of droids and resuming the first phase once again
Soloing HK-47 in the Foundry HM at level 60 is safely doable if you take care to disengage the core and prevent the boss to boost his damage (which can give serious troubles even to a level 60 toon). Of course the whole thing is made fare more difficult because you must destroy the four locks alone, so positioning is vital - Hry

He sounds much more friendly than he did on Kotor and Kotor 2.
I can't beat this guy with any of my characters (even the boosted ones), it's impossible.
He mellowed out with age …still genocidal but mellow

I am literally doing as the description says make sure to destroy his power core panels i do that and still get killed way too quickly before i can defeat the ememies
I dont know what in gods name I'm doing wrong. I finish the first phase, open his tank, kill the ads, and then he 1 shots me with suppressive burst. Every time

Thanks, this helped me alot. I didn't know why I was getting one-shotted, then watched this and did it straight away. Destroy the four panels on the thing that comes down and covers HK-47 and bang, you're done.
Leading a droid army?? Damn, that's like General Greivous, only way more cool! This is a droid holding his ground against a Jedi... without a lightsaber!
As the full fight in the Video description it tells you why you're getting one shot which would be to destroy the panels whenever the podium in the middle comes down
To be fair it’s not the first time he has been disassembled. He’ll probably be fine once he’s put back together again

I keep getting one shot for some odd reason every time after the first round of reinforcement arrives. idk what I'm doing wrong.

how good is your gear?
I'm 70 and getting the same crap. He isn't doing the attack that does it in this video at all. And I just noticed why. He's not in hard mode at all. HK is 10 levels lower than he is. On hard mode he'd be the same level.
Same issue here...He makes one shot and that is it... I am dead... strange thing...
He uses an op ability called suppressive fire

You will be insta killed if you stand in the center or next to HK47 when he pulls down the core at some instances . It’s really stupid and glitchy, so it’s really the games fault
this fight is pretty awful. There's no indication at all that you need to destroy those panels on the core

Yeah ofc you're not having any issues with a modded game--there isn't actually any possible way to defeat HK-47 without mods. He drops the shield, I attack the 4 things on the sides, it lifts up, he drops my health insanely quickly, and when I take another look at his bar--his health is entirely replenished. Where did you find the mods for this game? We could really use them and honestly this boss is far too overpowered that he's just broken; there simply isn't any other way to defeat him

cara como vc fez isso e sem o companion , tô travado no hk-47 pq toda vez q ele entra naquele tubo e manda os outros robôs pra atacar, quando ele sai ele me acerta com uma habilidade que dá mais de 1700 de dano! tão absurdo q eu preciso usar um medpack, a habilidade de cura + os Pilarzinho de cura q tem na faze pra ficar por um triz de morrer(estou jogando em 2017)

My level shift down to 36 when I’m 38 why is that
Because that is the highest level of any enemy in the raid. Its supposed to prevent you from grinding it out to level 70 and cutting through everyone like tissue paper.
So why at video he is 60???
This is so fck glitchy one. I am doing everything right. I done it 54 times without success and even left it for a few years. Now I am back and tried to finish 33 times now. Still shity one. And I am down to 36 as others, I don't know why you on the video you are 60lvl. Last time when I was destroing panels for 3rd time it's glitchy and it appears more then 4 times . It should be 4 for every side but for me it's 5 to 6. And it's impossible to have 8 so it must be glitch

yeah this boss is not fair at all, the fact that he summons 2 guys that can attack you while you try to stop him from going into his insta kill mode is really annoying. On top of that, I cant even stop him from going into his mode half the time because you have to be literally perfect and break all 4 vent things or whatever to stop him. And cuz I do it solo at level 35, im getting my butt handed to me everytime. Without fail.
