Aspen wedding ceremony takes place in the pouring rain

This elegant, classic wedding took place in Aspen, Colorado in front of a stunning mountain backdrop a place very special to the couple.
I send my couples a Mindful Wedding Magazine that I created to help them not only savor their day through video but also to savor these moments in their minds and bodies through various mindfulness tools. I’m never entirely sure if couples read it or if it resonates with them. But during Michael and Raini’s ceremony it started raining right before their vows and poured through the rest of the ceremony. I was worried it might take them away from the moment or leave them disappointed.
But right after the ceremony Raini told me that she read the guide and one part really resonated in these moments… that truly nothing could ruin this day. When you release expectations for how the day must unfold and set intentions to be present with all that arises, you’re able to truly savor and enjoy your day.
I learned by getting to know the couple throughout the day that Raini and Michael share a love of personal growth and development and I don’t think it was by accident that the stars aligned for me to film their day. This little moment just reminds me of how grateful I am not only to do this work, but to truly be working with couples that I connect with on a soul level.
