I like the fact that UNC is going to be a Lamborghini, rather than a Hum-V style of basketball team. No one in the country will be able to match our speed and versatility at the 1 through 4 positions. JWash will be dynamic.
gtown hired his coach, no mystery there, roster is enough ‘cause that’s all we got - we got five guys 6’8 and up to play two positions, it should work - not the first we didn’t have traditional big - Brooks, James Michael Mcadoo
I compare this team to 2019 a lot, speaking of Brooks. Similar make up except we actually have more frontcourt depth. With our speed and athleticism and overall skill, we should be one of the most exciting basketball teams in the nation

Greg Colluci is the NBA academy coaching director and is now the Georgetown basketball GM(Mark Fox had that job and went to KY). He isnt Juice's coach. He is familiar with all the players. This was a long term play because it gets us in on cycle of International players coming thru the next 3-4 years. There is an African kid we are big on right now cause of this relationship.

wild how we have known a void would need to be filled for way over a year and were not able to land a single one. cliff would have been the guy making us the team to beat this season. as it stands, i feel we are a solid top 10 team contending for a FF. lord help us if Washington does not greatly improve and or is injured. i get the trip to the OBX is a good bonding thing but i think landing a solid big today would be only help. that is if that big is a team first easy going guy vs. a guy wanting to be the man right away.
Huge failure on our staffs part in my opinion! I know people keep saying Hubert has confidence in J Wash as our 5 but if that was true, why was he chasing Cliff and all these other big men in the portal??? We in trouble
@@user-iw4vp3yn5p i have been called stupid and a troll by fellow tar heels for criticizing the fact we did not land the #1 void after bacot left. one can still love a program, coach and player but still point out missed opportunities. i love my kids but can be their biggest critic. i do not know if it was money or not selling the program well enough but, like you said, if HD was OK with Washington as our true big why did the Heels reach out to so many center targets? i still feel we had no business losing out on Cliff. i can only assume our financial package was not measuring up to bama's. if i were in cliff shoes, a chance to start at UNC would be so much more valuable than the same at bama. if we were talking football, the reverse would be true. the only thing that would make bama more attractive would be the money.
I have never committed on here. I have been loyal to north carolina for 45 years. I live in illinois and my son now in air force has always been fan. We have had many great teams that played above the rim with 6'8 height. We must block out rebound and run the floor.

I don’t know who the Juice is and I certainly didn’t know Davis was recruiting anybody this late, but it confirms how important a need Carolina has. The national media ALWAYS struggles with recency bias; that’s why they have UNC so high. As long as both freshmen materialize, Carolina will be fine. They’ll be a 4 seed in the Big Dance.
Idk why other fans are doubting us. We have the best backcourt I'd say in the country. We will be just as good as last season I feel yes we lost bacot but EC sophomore jump along with adding the 2 top 10 studs and then sharp shooter Cade I feel it offsets lost of bacot.. I legit feel we are a top 10 power team that should if we play well can again win the ACC 2 years in a row

Today kids or their representatives are in control but not so much at Carolina so more often than not, they choose or are led to go elsewhere. In this environment, our recruiting has to work harder and cast a wider net to compensate.
Guys this isnt the first time weve had less reliance on trad bigs. We had a sophomore garrison brooks in the middle during 2019, we didnt quite play 4 or 5 out, but the speed and skill of that team was just phenomenal. We came within a tap in by a generational talent of sweeping duke that year, and lost a rumored "flu game" in the sweet 16. We are going to be more than fine this year without a trad big. Even that said, jalen washington can play the 5! He will be fine.
This team is gonna be good. The most critical thing to me is not post play. Everyone is worried about post play. We have enough bodies to throw around that we can be average. The biggest question is Cadeau. It's simple because anyone that has played basketball knows that if teams do not come out to guard your shot it can handicap the offense. There is absolutely no one in the nation that can stay in front of Elliott if they have to worry about his 3 point shot as well. This offense will be deadly if he can improve his 3-point shot just a little. Take it to the bank.
Listen to what Coach Bill is saying, chemistry is key. This is our team, win…lose this is us. We have talent and experience and a lot of potential, chemistry has got to flow, I agree with coach Robinson, what would a freshman added compared to the setback in chemistry.

I don't think most fans think the roster is a problem for being very good; I think the challenge is particular matchups - can the team be truly great if it it have trouble dealing with strong teams that have a lot of size at the 5? I think JWash is EXTREMELY talented and is going to surprise people a lot this year, but I also think he will have a lot of trouble defending physical 7' bigs and will get into foul trouble in those situations too. So, i think it's easy to see this team being top 8-10, but it's hard not to see certain kinds of teams causing real problems and limiting the ceiling.

Thankfully there aren't many 7 foot bigs around.
In 2017 we had 3 players 6'9 and above this year we have 4 I think we will be ok
