Robert Greene Is The Reason Why I Read Books, His Books.
15 years later, Robert's prediction about the Middle East conflict came true.
"Always say less than necessary"
"Use selective honesty to disarm your victims"
Wish Robert spoke more on this book than the other ones, which are usually the main topic of his other interviews
i have this book...so moving...very applicable in all the days work...knock out..very powerful...i use it but i pity the person..hypnotic..it seems i am with napoleon planning the invasion..i love this book...awareness came after i read..bravo.
Came here after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan
i thank the host for letting mr. greene speak. something chase jarvis will never grasp about his guests!
this guy has written his books even when i was not born
I love how the host handles the interview. He's not trying to validate a political position like Bill O'Reilly would, nor is he trying to make humor like John Stewart would. He wants insightful comments.
His books are good, but I wouldn't compare him to Machiavelli. The concepts about power in his books aren't really his own; he is simply explaining other peoples' ideas. I'm not saying this as a negative, because he does a great job of taking information from many sources and making them relevant for today. He's more like a historian.
Mer C Machiavelli is a historian too
Man Robert called it.
Absolutely. He seemed to be the commentator on Earth who understand that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were exactly what al-Qaeda wanted the Americans to do.
I thought this would be about his book. I sat through the first 14 minutes: Iraq, Iraq, Iraq. Goodbye.
Stir the water to catch the fish...i love this strategy...unique among others...
this video was uploaded almost 10 years ago... WOW
He is certainly winning in selling his book. Therefore he is staying true to his book for sure.
@LordBifford you are right. very well said sir!
I'm not gay but I'm inlove with this guy.
interesting person, can learn much from his books
this guy made me like history! thats the best compliment he could get :P
he also took examples out of history, an expanded upon and modernized many of sun tzus principles. His books is and explanation of how to wage war in the modern world. Robert Greene did that and did it well. Also through the Prince into that mix, btw
👏🏻
crazy he was right about the iraq war and the video was posted in 2006
Better question; what would Wellington or Caesar have done?
@bklee686868
I find your point about Hitchcock to be intriguing. What makes you believe that he was a student of the Art of War?
8:52 "...They want to suck you into a kind of dynamic where you overreact..."
crazy..
i believe that mr green is more of a historian than a strategist. no disrespect intended,
if any one has a link to free pdf file of this book share it plz i also wanna download it
war...war never changes
Can someone please tell me when Robert Greene's next is book coming out?
+Ryhem Chambers i believe it will come out in late 2017... the book is about human nature and social intelligence
October 23rd
@TimeGod12 its 33 strategies of WAR.. not 33 strategies of peace.
I think his framework is too limiting. It sounds pretty but it seems there is a lot of understanding that gets missed out on. Terrorists just want to create chaos and disorder and get you to over react? Eh.. Theres more too it than that.
What does Robert have to say about the fact that his books promote Individualism over Collectivism, selfishness over selflessness, hatred over love, making enemy out of everyone over friend, dividing people rather than uniting them ?
Robert's books promote everything negative about mankind as if it should be made normal.
he is influenced by sun tzu, sun tzu had all the original ideas.
its not suppsed to end, I'm talking about the war.
@LordBifford not really.. if was to write a very good book, i wouldn't need to be a strategist to tel the pieces fall into their places... not all businessmen are strategists.
@husna9988 i bet he's dating 33 supermodels
I have read the "33 strategies": 20% Strategy-80% Self help. It becomes boring after a whille, unless you wanna read self help of course...
The ancient book of Art Of War 2500 years ago wasn't even the first for strategies. It could of derived from Spring and Autumn or Warring States nobody really knows war is older than GOD
+Santiago Ramirez the myths would argue in saying that the gods taught men how to wage war and that is why we wage war. good luck with finding the interior of what i am saying though. this is a deep running conduit

I do not agree with you. His work: "the 48 laws of power" and "33 strategies of war" requires deep abstractions to even know what he is talking about. And to find examples in history and be able to abstract it to everyday life is not something a college student nescessary is able to do. A lot of the things Robert Greene write about would be missed by most people if they read it in a another book.
I think you are insulting Robert Greene and also people who really enjoys his works.
He's a great author though, nor would I think of discrediting his research... READ and raise your rhetoric...
I must be a genius too because I read the book and it was all common sense to me, on how to become a lying, insincere, self indulged dictator.
Because he passes the Mental Tests.
Interesting, but Greene overlooks politics in warfare. That explains Iraq in itself.
Anyone else irritated that the interviewer doesn't finish his own sentences? Anyway, nice interview otherwise!
WELL I THINK HE IS NOT A STRATEGYST HE MAKES A RESUME OF SMART PEOPLE, NAD MAKES MONEY OF THAT THAT IS HIS STRATEGY
HE IS A GOOD ADVISOR BUT I DON WANT THAT GUY AS A FRIEND
He keeps on talking about winning wars. Bollocks! if you learn from history no one ever one a war i.e they are pointless. Even Napoleon wrote in his letters that one thing he regrets is that he couldn't bring peace to the world in the way Jesus expressed without an army. However i undesrtand his view in that sense that wars are cyclical and probably will always arise - hence go with strong which he can relax and afford to do.
well.. just as a point of view.. Qaade is supported by USA and the zonism lobby there... no need to think hard to find that out
I wonder if Robert is eating some of his words today? It seems like democracy is trying to grab root and blossom in the current middle east. And we need to be there to help the rebels and people that want a more free society.
