Around 34minutes in I’m pretty sure his line of thought is Musashi’s Perception is strong and sight weak. In strategy it is important to see distant things as if they were close and to take a distanced view of close things. We can use this in construction, commerce, control, manipulation all sorts of ways warfare is fundamental to existence like truth and human nature. Use it just as musashi says and also in any other ways in life that you see fit. Know one thing know 10000 things. Makes you a better tradesman and grow as a human to think ahead of other trades and fulfill the quote! Musashi was awesome! I can use my knowledge of concreting and commercial plastering and know that I would be competent in a variety of other trades, I trade my plaster or cladding sheets for tiles and grout, same concept, know one thing know 10000 things, I can apply measure and cut to both strategy in war and work and relationships !!! @henrypark7381 Před 8 měsíci +1

Of course I can see the concept you're trying to relate...yet still, it's also important to know and understand just how you go about applying and developing those skills / abilities. So that even though you may be very well versed in say, art, you cannot transfer accommodated overlap because, although it may apply to another situation, how it is being used can be radically different. IE, like words that sound similar but have different Meanings attached, or even phonetically the same but opposite ideas. Do I make sense? (Cents) Scents? Sentenceessses???

I have only watched this video now, and I'm glad that I did.
I'll start with, the audience asking questions, they didn't follow your discussion about the book at all!!! You mentioned everything and explained about the roots of the 'strategy of war'...the only part that was picked is just the last part, sadly.
I was trying to explain this theory to a friend of mine today about your theory, which is how to apply the 'art of war' in his life/marriage. His friends/wife always seems to be ahead of him, despite of her having this knowledge.
The points you mentioned right at the beginning and examples you gave are a proper description of of modern warfare which people do not get at all.
I salute you for that analysis and connection to a book written (Art of war') and how you brought it to daily life. It's hard for an ordinary mind to understand and relate, but very mind opening to the wise.
    Cheers 👍🏼👍🏼

The weapon with the ball is called a Kusarigama it’s a ninjitsu weapon. He defeated the first guy using two strategies “recon, lateral thinking / direct approach, close the distance between and the opponent using speed and surprise. He reposition when attacked and put that rest of Samurais in a fatal funnel. Musashi uses everything to fight you. Your personality, your timing , even your health if you limp if your slower with your right or left hand. Special forces teams use a lot of these techniques for humit. Win the battle before you have to fight it. This is why we need secure borders in the U.S.

    Great talk Mr Greene,
the best book and the best strategy for a country is still ''the art of war - winning without fighting''.
The US right now is not doing the ''winning without fighting'', it is doing to opposite.

Intresig fact about Haiti revolution was Polish soldiers participation on the Haitian side. Till today polish traces can be seen on the island. Village Cazale has descendants of surviving members of Napoleon's Polish Legionnaires[1] which were forced into combat by Napoleon but later joined the Haitian slaves during the Haitian Revolution. Some 400 to 500 of these Poles are believed to have settled in Haiti after the war.

Most high schools band universities do not teach how to be effective, but, as is quite evident recently, how to memorize things, real or imagined, as presented through the lens of the instructor. I was such a fine citizen and scholar that I was sent to military school for 3 years and studied this stuff 2 days a week in officer trading classes. Most of my other teachers throughout life, including 2 different graduate schools, taught one how to memorize. Learning how to think and resolve problems takes a lot of time and effort, something most people aren’t interested in, even though the results are quite fulfilling.

I’ve had the pleasure of reading The 48 laws of power and The art of seduction, both books, absolutely amazing, reads full of wisdom and lessons that are certainly not for everyone. Watching this video, prompted me to fervently want to lay my hands on, and read the other published books of Robert Green In particular, The 33 strategies of war and The 50th law. Hat off ladies and gents.

Some people familiar with different philosophical understandings of say musashi and sun tzu and understand the elements role in eastern philosophy and some knowledge of history and the wars that occurred, would know this, but only Robert Greene can clearly theorise. Know one thing know 10000 things. Musashi compared war to carpentry and building a house with a plan. You can apply it to chess, you can apply chess principles to life, centre(self) control, develop your pieces, don’t waste time, only make strong moves, seek activity first, improve your position slowly, Castle your king (above all else guard you heart) Relationships as well by way of enemy-ally’s all of life is war at a fundamental level between good and evil. All warfare is based on deception ( robert greenes own books)The flesh wars against the spirit, Solomon was the source of western and eastern philosophy through all his connections imagine his connections think about his wives on the hundreds !I genuinely believe that having read the bible several times before even understanding what philosophy meant. Since thirsting for understanding in life I believe that it is a worldy view of Gods virtue or spirit but I only made it to year 9 and that was a miracle in itself

Excellent point concerning protracted issue of war. The answer to why has to do with, in my opinion, had to do with lower management and in effective communication.
