- The dream of a LORD OF THE RINGS TOTAL WAR is no longer just a dream - it's quickly shaping up to be fully fledged reality. In this video, I have worked alongside The Dawnless Days modding team to bring you all-new, never-before-seen campaign footage and information of what The Dawnless Days Lord of the Rings campaign will look like, which mechanics will be vital to pay attention to, which factions will be available at launch, and so on.

The fact that this Lord of the Rings mod - nay - essentially a full LOTR Total game in its own right, has come this far, looks this good, and appears so deep - well, it does bring a tear to a man's eye. An immense amount of effort and passion has gone into making this mod be where it is today, and it seems we're nowhere near the finish line. Who knew Total War Attila had more secrets up its sleeve?

this is truly the greatest dedication from modders towards a game I have ever seen. The amount of work, love and effort that has been put into this is awe-inspiring. There are also Skywind and Skyblivion modders.
It is great edication but there are much older mods with modding teams that have been going for 10 years etc
@@Tyrgalon Sure but they didnt have to reverse-engineer a multi-million dollar game to make their mods, just swap character names and locations mostly! Respect to them ofc but more is earned with these guys!

You show your ignorance, there are massive reworks that change or add core mechanics of the games with custom coding.
Meiou & Taxes for the Europa universalis games being one of the most impressive examples.

It's crazy that they have spent such a along time to build such a beautiful map and units. And they have also modeled everything to fit the world. Absolutely amazing, I can't wait

2013 > Developers spend dedicated years and years creating skyrim to become what it is today.
2023 > Modders spend dedicated years and years creating Dawnless Days to become what it is today.
I've spent hundreds of hours playing Third Age Total War mod for Medieval 2 Total War. Can't wait to dig into this also.

D&C is beatiful but time that turn takes is overvelming it was always a terrible issue for me to Press end turn button :-)

I think one of the most exciting things for this mod over Third Age or DaC isn't really the graphics, but the relaxing of the hard-coded faction limit. Imagine going around and fighting or playing as minor factions that arent just "rebels" littering the map. I love me some smaller starts and maps that actually feel populated with a bunch of factions, clans, and kingdoms.
What are you on about? DaC has few rebels and most areas are filled by factions that should be there
@@LordVader1094 I guess I'm just specifically thinking about the Angmar campaign and there being a bunch of "independent" orc settlements scattered throughout the north.
More build spaces, and being encouraged to play 'tall' with fewer settlements has another less obvious benefit - seiges are going to be less common but WAY bigger and more important.
As a huge fan of both, Tolkien and Total War, I can hardly wait for this to arrive. Huge thanks to the team of the mod for bringing this experience to us, and huge thanks to you for highlighting it.
I remember back in 2016 when I first saw this mod. Since this Day I dreamed about a campaign and now we are that close. This team is by far the best the total war community every had!
That amount of work that goes into these mods is absolutely insane. Props to everyone who has worked on the mod previously, presently and in the future. You're all doing an incredible job and we're all super excited to be with you as you create one of (if not the best) mods out there of all time. Keep up the amazing work all, we appreciate it wholly.

I just spent about 100h in the last months playing divide and conquer for medieval 2 and can't wait to try out this mod. It looks absolutely incredible. Thanks to all the modders who put so much free time into this. You truely keep the total war community alive in these difficult times. CA really should thank you for that!
I always wanted to see Boromir lead armies. It was a little disappointing he died so early, even though the death was totally fitting for him.

It's so very lovely to see this campaign map brought to life. I had occasionally stopped in to watch a number of their dev streams from time to time. But seeing how far they've come is very nice. I look forward to seeing what they do with everything in the future. I eagerly await the day I can play this mod.

I honestly can’t believe how much the dawnless days team puts into this campaign! Just creating the map is so much work, and I guess most fans would be pleased with being able to play on a middle earth map, but the team created a full makeover in every way! So impressive, thank you so much!
I can't wait to play this mod, I have been looking forward to this for a while now. I hope the modders are able to get it done soon but I understand that these mods take an insane amount of work and dedication. I can only say that I appreciate everything these modders do for the love of the lore.

I'm very happy to see this progres in my favorite universe mod, I played Medieval II mods for Middle Earth and Dawless Days will be great successor.

Absolutely can’t wait, I just hope unit roster expansions through submods will work properly and maybe a double unit size submod is made to get those huge battles
Thank you guys for giving us the Total war experience CA has failed to deliver on since Atilla came out. I've been a big fan of Divide and Conquer for years and this is stunning! Hard to go back to Medieval 2 graphics after playing this mod, even if it is only custom battles at the moment.
