Thanks for interviewing me!! Was a blast 😄
Thanks for coming on!! Was super fun!
SamYam you should come work at Continuum XR. We make VR games. We just made Monkey See Monkey Doo Doo. Is a fun group of people.
These talks with people who made their move and do what they love are inspiring and encouraging. I am in different area of tech and often wonder if I wouldn't be happier switching to more creative areas like VR/game development but since I have it only as a free time hobby the progress is slow. There is always new stuff to learn l. Thanks for the interview you both!
You'll get there! I believe in you.
Oh wow, that that girl. I have followed a couple of her tutorials before! And had no ideas that what she look like lol. Her tutorials are top notch.
Yea she used to be a face-less channel
I love interviews with devs I've never discovered. I'd love it if you could share tips on how to join jams and the rules and etiquette.
Do they always have to be from scratch or could I use existing multiplayer projects as a jumping off point?
Exactly at the time when I just discovered SamYam's on Scriptable Objects tutorial, and coming back to this channel to look for a zero gravity Lone Echo style VR controller... What a coincidence. :D Nice chat!
Oooh yeah, Justin, do you have any good ideas in VR how to make a zero G XR rig which can grab the surfaces of the walls? (Lone Echo style for example)
I was trying to use your tutorial on gorilla tag mechanics + swimming tutorials other places, but ended up spinning out of the world like crazy, and actually there are no unity assets on that topic or any VR tutorials. *hint hint* :D
Watch my gorilla tag livestream! I actually did that with the zero g
@@JustinPBarnett oh okay. thx 🙏 hopefully it will help. the nem xr interaction toolkit brings some extra flavors to the table. I'll check when im done with workin. thanks again!
just watched it@@JustinPBarnett. And implemented as much as I could. (Unity changed the XR Toolkit a lot, but managed to get it work mostly with zero G which is awesome. Tho the thing which causes me issues now, that the objects itself like, a cube, if i wanna grab it, its hmm.. "makes me spin", kinda hard to "bring with me". Or even launches me. But I'm gonna mess around with it, I don't want every object to push me back with the Hook's law so it will be interesting to find out how this can be further improved. Ty again for the assistance. Now I might finish up at least one of my damn VR projects. lol. :D
I wanted to wrap my head around 3d and animation... but... I think with all the new AI technology that is coming into the 3d area it's only a matter of time that you can generate what you want... Maybe adjust a litte bit afterwards... So somehow it feels like a "waste of time" now, learning that stuff.
My interest in game development brought me into the IT field jobwise. I have a really great job! But I want to live out my creativity, too. :D Too many projects!
You're right, but not in the way you might think. A programmer using an AI tool will still code 10x faster (and higher quality) than a non-programmer. Same goes for any skill.
I like her (very subtle) accent.
We found that dudes brother she was talking about in her comments
@@sneakykryptid Sorry, what?
@@sneakykryptid Oh I get it, just rewatched the video.
Lol no, I wouldnt ask her out on a date, she is way out of my class. :)
I was just noticing her accent and I cant quite figure it out.
So u don't need a degree to be game development
boiii what the hell bruh
?
