Watching Lex's face light up during the guitar solo section made me smile.
I was worried her head was going to explode at one point lol
same :D
I saw the title and thought Lex is gonna get lost in that solo.
I know, when we know what's coming lol
Same
I’ve heard Free Bird a thousand times but seeing Lex hear it the first time gives me goose bumps!
its like hearing it for the first time again
He's dead! It's about death.
I love this woman's reaction to guitars and how she appreciates it at a non literal level and constantly associates it with classical. She really gets it.
Standing 5 feet from the stage watching the original lineup do this was and still is one of my greatest memories..Alan's jump at the peak of the solo always blew me away every time....
I live in Texas 🇨🇱 and I was planning to go see Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in Dallas/Ft Worth that was scheduled before the plane crashed. Man I was so upset about it!
I’ve had the ringtone of the first few notes of “Sweet Home Alabama” for many years now. I have the collector Album cover that shows Ronnie Van Zandt, Steve Gains & his sister Chrissy Gains, (the three killed) where it looks like they’re engulfed in flames 🔥. Man, I was so upset hearing that. 🥲
@@jhood758 I had just gotten out of the Navy in September '77 and was planning on seeing them in Little Rock the next month...
@@harlenburke8535 It’s sad we missed out. I’ve had my “Sweet Home Alabama for years. No intentions of changing it. 😊
One of biggest travesties in the music industry is that when ever some publications make a list of the top 100 guitarists of all time, the boys from Skynyrd always get disrespected. They're either completely ignored,.. or placed far down on the list! Allen Collins should easily make the top twenty of any list.
@@jhood758 I also have the Street Survivors original album I bought it when it first came out as I did every Skynard lp the minute they hit the stores...
Lex has unbridled enthusiasm, she is so full of joy.
Kramer: Well it's a story about love, deception, greed, lust and...unbridled enthusiasm.
Sometimes I'm jealous of reactors--what I wouldn't give to be able to go back and hear these awesome songs for the first time again. It's sad to say, but a lot of this gets taken for granted by those of us who have heard them thousands of times. I try not to, but it's great to be able to experience a first listen through your ears.
True, but then I think about most of the crap they grew up on and I feel bad for them.
Me too … but then I remember all the concerts I went to in the 90s and I don’t get that jealous that much lol
Bro.
I agree. I think that's why we love to watch reaction videos. We try to relive what we experienced through them. At least maybe that's why I love to watch their reactions.
Reaction videos, like many other popular trends, are inundating the atmosphere though...like an asshole, everyone's got one. The unfortunate side of it is that many of them are just people shouting out interjections. Those are boring, because anybody can do that...those types don't deserve the platform. The plus side is that people like Brad & Lex, Lost In Vegas, The Charismatic Voice, and select others, have something to offer the listeners other than, "DAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMN!!!"
Couch Gang, thank you for your different musical upbringings, your open mind to the music you bring on, and the conversation that comes from hearing musical favorites!
Lex’s reaction to when the song went instrumental, was perfect -
Lex gave the best reaction to Free Bird ever... She is such a gem.
@@alexbernier7903 Knebworth was better, them going out on Mick Jaggers tongue was the greatest moment in Rock history in my opinion ✌️
people are familiar with the England live version, and the Oakland live version........... but the Atlanta live version from their live album is the best of them all.
@@odurandina play it pretty for Duane ALLMAN! I was there and I saw them in the Fox theater too.
You got to see her reaction to the Pink Floyd song Mother.
Its priceless!!
Legend says they still haven't finished playing them guitars.
Wouldn't it be funny if they continued the solo on secret tracks on every album released after? lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
♥️♥️
Legend says the guitar solo started with the big-bang.
Gary jams it out with Ricky occasionally
When I watch someone hearing this timeless classic for the first time it actually makes me tear up just watching them. This song is like an epiphany and sharing it with people is a great joy. By the way watching them play it live in 1977 is even better than this. The guitar solo is gotta be one of the top ten of all time. So many masters of their craft in one band effortlessly turning it on.
and in the background of this masterpiece is the sobering reminder of their fate in a plane crash which makes it even more poignant.
Back in 1977 I saw them at the Concord Pavilion in California over near Oakland just before where they filmed that live version at the Oakland Stadium you see alot. That one in Oakland is NOT my favorite rendition of this song. When I left the Army back in 76, it was tradition this was to be play by the best stereo in the Barracks as you crossed the doorway leaving the building for the last time.. By the best stereo I mean really the best. Pioneer amps and Equalizers,Sansui, JBL's Kenwoods speakers, Dual or Harmon Cardon Turntables, Teac Real to Reals, Ect, Ect, Ect. The best back in the 76 era.for around $3000+. I played it for someone and someone played it for me.
Yep. I'm not a huge fan of Lynnard Skynnard but that live version of this song in the 70s at Oakland was probably the best live performance of any song I've heard 👍
Lex looks like she would be so much fun to go to a concert with. Love her reaction to the guitar solos❤️.
Lex, you should have grown up in the 70s. You are a true rocker.
Yes! Would have been happy to party with her anytime. She's like a ray of light.
Isn't that the truth.. She's got that rocker to the core
But I never see any black person on a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert...

@@albusandrose Yep Young Whipper Snapper has the bug lol
Widely considered as one of the greatest guitar solos of all time and it's nearing 50 yrs old now!
This and the Comfortably Numb solo are without doubt the two best solos of all time (guitar - there are some piano solos that are mind boggling).
@@DrtyFck there are better solos than free bird imo, comfortably numb on the other is the best solo of all time
@@evbo_schmev Agreed with Free Bird, but it's definitely one of the best solos in terms of getting you pumped up! It's been about 30 years for me now and I still shake myself to that solo every time I hear it.
And is was played with three guitarists in the end of the song. I fell in love with Lex there...
Allan was 17 when he composed it 17!
Allen Collins was *THE* man 🎸 A wildly energetic, technically brilliant solo from a humble, unassuming, legendary guy.
I love seeing Lex's reactions, she truly enjoys the music, be it an awesome guitar solo or a sad song, she puts the emotion on the songs almost as the artist who made the song
Thank God Brad is paying attention to the lyrics or all of us would be dragged into Lex's sheer joy and forget everything else!
LMAO!
Freebirds an anthem
I like her takes, but Brad listens to the music the way I do alot
Riight?!?! ALWAYS!!!😄
Lex is a Vixen!
I love Lex's reactions to these songs. Pure joy. Period.
Watching that smile emerge, is an addiction, she just MAKES ME SMILE!
I kinda enjoy the difference in their reactions.
Brad is more analytical, where Lex lets it flow.
I like both.
Vive la différence!
nice to see someone not give a f, or fake it well
Brought tears to my eyes watching your reaction. Loved it. I'm 54 grew up listening to and loving this music. I truly enjoy another generation enjoying it. Love you both! Lex, you are such a bright light and happy soul. You're cute as can possibly be. Brad is a man's man. I hope you two stay together forever! God bless.
I know there's a ton of Lex love here - and it's warranted, but this is one of the most I've seen Brad get into a tune in a while as well. I think Lex is driven by the music while Brad is driven by the lyrics and overall meaning. Legendary song. These two are fun af to watch!
"Simple Man" is a song by them that every man should listen to. It's some straight up good advice for the most part. Great song too.
Agree! I think youd love the message if you havnt heard it.
I love that song. The message will always stay with me to the day I kiss the ground
I know they would appreciate that song
Yes, please! "Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man" is not only an anthem but would make a great reaction video if you guys enjoyed this song here.
Absolutely, just recommended that myself. Peace
This isn't a song....it's an Iconic rock anthem. Absolutely fantastic!
The best thing to ever come out of an amplifier.
When Lex hears the guitar she starts grooving it's the most wholesome thing 😁😁😁
You guys are a beautiful couple, I love Lex’s expressions, I found you two by accident and am so happy that I did, I’m 73 years old and love the music I grew up with up into the 90’s. Rock on!
It is an absolute joy for those of us who know and love the music to see Lex's reaction ...
She's in her element here ...
Lex is becoming a CZcams sensation. Her reactions are priceless.
She's easy on the eyes too
I think Lex’s Soul may be even more beautiful than her physical self!

In 1977 there wasn’t a band on the planet that wanted to follow them on stage. Ask the Stones
I was at Knebworth that day when 100000+ people who had never heard of LS suddenly woke up and realised that they were hearing something special.
Mick”whatever you do stay off our logo”
Ronnie”hold my beer, let’s go boys”
Lex is the personification of living in the moment. Be like Lex.
Saw them in concert in LA while serving in the Marines back in 1977 a couple months before half the band died in a plane crash. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. Legendary!
The song that “every man needs to listen to” is Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man”.
Exactly, my son got married on the 9th and our mother son dance was Simple Man. Such an amazing song.

Can’t wait for Lex to go to her first rock
Concert and when the band ask for request she screams out “FREEBIRD!!”🤣
and in response she hears, I heard it then....lol
I bet if she went to a Muse gig Matt Bellamy would give it a go!
Lol😂
I love watching Lex fall in love with a song.
Lex's reaction was pretty much everyone's reaction when this was first played on the radio. Then it was straight to the record store.
Confession here: You two are my favorite reaction couple. Brad, look at Lex, that is the definition of a "keeper". What a doll, what a personality, what a mind! Yeah, hang on to her. Lex, Look at Brad, there is a based man, he is a keeper. I could easily be friends with him. He is "real", he is a good guy. The funny thing is that when you take a good man and a good woman the result is far more than the sum of the parts, that is where the magic is. I have seen some of your videos about your trials in life, and I wish only the best for you two. There is a big difference between wishes and reality. You have my wishes, I am confident you will make a reality that exceeds my wishes, more power to you.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is the embodiment of Southern Rock. There music touches everyone in a different way. It was one thing that Country Fans and Rock Fans can enjoy together.
"Ballad of Curtis Lowe"
"Gimme Three Steps"
"What;s your Name"
"That Smell"
" on the hunt "
Most southern bands of this period were amazing,
"Simple Man"
Sweet Home Alabama
That smell, call me the breeze, I'm going to stop before I make a complete list.
I heard this song lots of times and knowing Lex’s love of the guitar, I am oh she is going to bounce Brad right off the couch😂
So funny,...I was wondering to myself if they switch seat cushions around because Lex is gonna wear that one out!!!
You two are adorable together. Skynyrd Rules!!

@@cookedcarrotstastelikevomit I actually reside in Cleveland suburbs, so not far away from Canada...bout 90 miles across the lake!
I'm from Jacksonville, FL and worked many Skynyrd events. To this day they blow up the stands. Nothing like the original lineup, but their adapt and overcome mentality is amazing after what they've been through!
This is southern rock. Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the most talented bands there's ever been! I remember when their plane crashed, all us kids in my neighborhood cried. We couldn't believe it. They were huge and were only getting bigger at that very point in time. Ronny Van Zant, the singer, wrote nothing but fire! He had that magical talent only a few famous songwriters get. Yes, they were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, they'll always be one of my top bands as long as I'm breathing.
I feel ya! I mean, I was only one when the plane crash happened, but I had a cool ass mom who showed me all the greats in southern rock (which in my opinion Skynyrd totally started!) and classic rock! Hell, I lost something I can never get back with Skynyrd on the radio (I need you)! I wish I could have seen them before the crash, but I have seen them like 10 times since I was 16. Like you, I love to see people react to something for the first time, knowing it is something amazing that they are about to hear!
This song brings back so many memories from my childhood like in my teens I mean just hanging out and you know people with the old Camaros and the floor for two then transfer open drinking out of a K again it’s just one times were fun and good
Their plane went down about 15 miles from where I live. A short time ago they finally put up a memorial near the crash site.
@@madmitch3365 Had tickets to the concert in Baton Rouge were they scheduled to perform.
Born and raised in Alabama, I spent all of my teenage years in the 70's. This song is such a huge part of my life. So many good times riding around in my Chevy Nova playing Skynyrd with my friends.
I love watching you two. I'm almost 60, and this song came out when I was a kid. It's been a go-to song for me ever since. Watching you love it, made me feel really good. I look forward to the notifications. :)
Just when you think they've reached the peak of the song, they level up or throw a wrinkle into it. This song never gets old no matter how many times you hear it.

Seeing him play this in concert was mesmerizing. They way he worked that guitar was absolutely amazing.
The secret behind that solo is that it isnt a solo. ITS A DUEL!
In the live recordings yes, but the studio version its all Allen Collins overdubbing himself on the solo, Gary Rossington played rhythm
The song is basically a musical rendition of an orgasm.
That three guitar army was unbelievable ❤️
I always compared this solo with hotel California and Don Felder and Joe Walsh playing off each other
yep between 3 kick ass guitar players
Just waiting for the outro on this one because you know Lex is gonna JAM!
I went to a concert back in the 70’s Believe me , when I say there is nothing quite like that feeling.
I have watched this reaction a few times now, because it is one of the best reactions (the best?) I have seen. It's fun watching y'all work together, and watching the music reach you, especially the long guitar outro where the music keeps revving up, changing gears as it picks up speed, and shifting to an even higher gear. This comment is months late, but y'all did a great job with this one.
I don't think it would hurt anyone's feelings if you guys did the live concert version from Oakland. Getting the visual is a completely different experience. Lex will lose her mind.

Watching Lex made me jealous... I wish that I could listen to Freebird again for the first time. Skynyrd was the best band that day and the best live band I ever heard and I’ve seen everybody from Bowie to Black Sabbath.
I really enjoy your videos, but never comment. So, hear it goes! As a professional musician, I truly enjoy watching you both react to songs that I know and love. Watching your videos has also broadened my appreciation for some artists. As a live performer, we thrive off peoples reactions to our art; while on stage, it gets us going. It's super cool to sit and listen to all the great music with you. You both appreciate music in very different ways, and also appreciate each others perspective. Ya'll make me laugh, a lot! Perhaps, I'll reach a level in my career where you'll reacte to my stuff. If you ever get the chance, I'd love to see your reaction to the band Snarky Puppy; I recommend the song "Lingus".
